@brainpulse I do not argue that Nigeria's leadership has been wasteful. I agree that we should be every step where the Malaysias, Koreas, Singapores etc are today. The point is though: Of all our useless leaders, OBJ is the one who least deserves to be pilloried. His achievements earn him the right to be seen as the best of a bad lot (at worst). Yes, he also fumbled in many ways (and if you mentioned one of those objectively, i wouldn't argue; I'm not his son or apologist) but to just stand up and make wild statements about him says a lot more about the speaker than it does about OBJ. How we wan develop as a country if we cannot *objectively* look at things? Me, I despise the behavior of the man called Obasanjo, but that doesn't stop me from seeing the fact that he has done more (by far) than any other president. By the way, *that* is not celebrating mediocrity. Its simply stating facts. |

I know I will b shouted down for this but here's my two cents anyway: Nigerians are ingrates. Obasanjo the man may be a lying, conniving, womanizing monkey (whatever) but lets get something clear: Obasanjo the president is the best Nigeria ever had. Yes, I just said that. Its sad I no longer have the links to his previous achievements (can look for if you guys insist; anyone who knows should pls supply) but when the guy said he built Egbin and the other plants, tears literally came to my eyes. Why? I tried to imagine what it felt like being Obasanjo. Someone who achieved so much over two stints and all he gets are invectives. I know he didn't do his popularity any good with his fight with Atiku and the third term bid but come on people, you are educated. Have you truly forgotten what this man achieved or are you just being cruel  ?I notice none of you mouthin off have disproved his claim that he built power plants and nobody did anything on the topic till he came back and yet its all abuses. Its all misyarning about $16 billion that anybody who knows anything in the power sector will tell you what it was spent on (perhaps the contracts were inflated, but nobody has proved that to be OBJ's fault. point is, its hardly like he just pocketed $16 billion. Says a lot that after delaying the IPP idea for so long, Yar Adua and Goody could do no better than simply continuing, admitting the brilliance of the original plan, with no apology for all the abuses. People, being OBJ is sad. One day I wil compile a list of his achievements, from the debt relief (yes, you will find something negative to say) to infrastructure (my God: all second generation universities, national traffic backbone, power plants, major hospital and healthcare backbone , ) active attempt to balance distribution of portfolio, first leader to giev women a chance to strut their stuff. What do we do to such a man? Kai, life truly is unfair. Perhaps someone should create a thread for us to list the achievements of all our presidents and compare them. A people who cannot recognise a good thing when they see it will never prosper. Sad. |

First things first, basically ALL men recognize and appreciate outer beauty when they see it. What they do from there depends on (i)the nature of the guy (ii) what he wants the woman for. Almost ALL men would, if the conditions were right (he see's himself as free, see's her as available and accessible etc) be interested in getting to know more about a beautiful woman. So, yeah, we're basically all attracted to pretty women. If she has a horrible personality however, we are likely to move her from the category of "marriage material" to " fun time". But we still like her. If she has a great personality, then of course the guy feels blessed  UNLESS: he's not a very confident guy and she's really, really hot. In which case he may still leave her in "fun time" category because he fears that he can't keep her.For "inner beauty" women, its a sad but true fact that without some other interaction, less than 5% of men would be drawn to them straight. Its not all bad however. Once they get a chance to interact with the guy or act in front of the guy, chances are that up to 50% of guys (percentage goes up as the guys mature and think less with testosterone and more with their brain) will become interested in getting closer to them. Funny enough, if the not-fine girls (minus the REALLY wowo ones o, ) get enough opportunity to show their inner beauty, I assure you that they have equal chance of being married as their pretty ones. Not to leave the truly wowo girls out: yes, even you have a chance, as long as you have a truly sweet and supporting personality. The bad news however is that only the 20% or so of guys who are simple, unambitious and don't have snotty friends will want you even if you have the personality of an angel. But at least, hope dey. Having said that, the fact is that inner beauty girls have to accept that they may never get as much fun, doting, attention etc as the outer beauty ones. Simple reason: guys have to be at their best to capture an outer beauty girl while they can be more relaxed with inner beauty ones. For most guys, a woman must meet some personal basic requirement for looks before he even gets interested in her. However, this requirement depends a lot on the nature of the guy.
