NYSC / Re: Corper Obinna Gabriel Fixed Bad Road In Ayegbami, Ilorin (Before & After Photos) by otaiwo: 9:53am On Mar 04, 2022 |
Obinna deserves to be employed into the Federal Civil service after his youth service. He has shown great leadership capacity by making a significant difference in the community he found himself as a youth corper. These are the types of talents that should be nurtured to take up executive leadership roles in our political space. Kudos Obinna! |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Age Requirement Is Unconstitutional by otaiwo: 10:12am On Aug 05, 2013 |
I think the constitution stipulates minimum age limits and not maximum as claimed by the person initiating this topic. I stand to be corrected though |
Politics / Re: FG Earned N5 Trillion From Taxes In 2012 – FIRS by otaiwo: 12:33pm On Jan 29, 2013 |
This is indeed a great news but IMO, it also reveals the level of corruption in the system. The last time i checked, the entire 2012 budget was 4.877 trillion naira which means that this revenue from taxes should have funded completely the budget with even an excess of about 120 billion naira leaving no basis for neither deficit nor any form of borrowing to fund inexisting deficit. The entire receipts from oil sales in 2012 should therefore have been saved either in the SWF or ECA. I stand to be corrected but i think the 2012 expenditure was still based on receipts from oil sales with even a price benchmark and borrowing through issuance of bonds to fund "deficit". We therefore need to know what has happened to the 5 trillion naira tax receipt. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Katsina Has N16 Billion While Others Are Owing: New Governors Take Note! by otaiwo: 10:19am On Jun 16, 2011 |
This is a good thing happening in Katsina state. The Governor should be commended. Though a Lawyer, he has demostrated a good sense of portfolio/program/project management and above all he is not corrupt since he doesn't have to be seen by any contractor before jobs get done. There are certainly some lessons to be learnt from Katsina state by other state governors and even the federal government since they claimed recently that abandoned projects all over the country amount to about 7.9 trillion naira. |
