the bank pays service provider heavy amount of money to put one ATM on standby 247 internet and u think it's free? of course there is occasional bad network that does not mean they will not pay the service provider the interswitch that connect all the banks together is not owned by the bank as a result all the bank pays interswitch for that service and lastly before 2014 using any ATM is free for any bank card but the truth behind the matter is for every bank customer that use another bank ATM the bank pays the other Bank on behalf of that customer what they usually do is balance each other that is five customer of first bank as against three customer of diamond then first bank will pay diamond for the balance of two customer but with time this money grew so huge it was tearing the pocket of bank hence they come to resolution AL customer should bear their cross
