Apply for visa with your Bsc degree, you can always switch school and course over here.

Thank you @aussiejoan for your reply
Will it be easier to switch to information technology then?
Since IT is also on skills list

Haba! Calm down.

What's I too know about the enlightenment I'm trying to share?

I've gotten my visa and I didn't use IELTS and also I shared a screenshot showing where I got my info from and you're raging at me, claiming I too know.

Just smh, I'm I contesting with you or something? this thread irritates me cause when someone question or challenge an info, the person suddenly becomes I too know.

Well, it's the Nigerian thing. People at the top always feel they are right and should not been given benefit of a doubt. Meanwhile, I'm a person that pays attention to details and always seeking knowledge.

Don't bother quoting me cause I don't give a fvck about anything you have to say. Mtchweeeee!

University of New England offer just dropped this morning after Deakin University refusal to continue with my application.

I really need the school agent here in Nigeria.

Having issues with my Ielts score, my reading score is 5.0 instead of 5.5, guys any suggestion on how to go about it?

Nice......am glad you follow what I said earlier about applying to another school .......

Concerning your IELTS test score .....I will advice you to contact they school, ask them to exempt you from IELTS test since English was they language of instruction at your school and they official language of nigeria .

If this does not work .....like if they still insist you write they test ......then you really need to study and write it.

Kindly be discrete with your responses and ask questions on any subject you are unsure of. These people hold you by what you say and nothing else.

Whats there to be discreet about ......they rejected they application because he interchanged brother with uncle.

That's all .....what do you want him to do ........sit down and cry or start begging them.

I only suggested they next option to him which is to apply to another school......is there anything wrong with that.

I got rejection mail this morning from DEAKIN UNIVERSITY because of my previous Canadian study permit denial which I told them about.

I was given admission to study Masters in Sustainability which was conditional offer, I even had one on one interview with their international rep here in Nigeria sometime last year when He came to Nigeria and I was able to answer all his questions.

After submitting my final prerequisite to the school last two weeks including my sponsors information who happens to be my uncle. I called him my BROTHER which the Deakin rep was not happy about saying that I should have called him my uncle from the beginning.

This morning I saw I am sorry mail from the school.

Guys what do I do now?

When u said you got rejection mail I thought it was visa rejection......
See dear, apply to another .......its not a big deal .
Go for Macquarie university those people are open for business .......and save your self all these stress .

U can apply to any course u like as long as it is related to your Bsc course or you have to explain your reason for moving to another discipline if you choose to change your area of study ......and also u need to explain they gap in your study period.

Hi everyone.
I am a Industrial Chemistry graduate with a 2.1 degree. I would like to ask what I should regarding a masters in Aussie. My major problem is fund, I am from a poor family, the little fund I am projecting to get will be gotten from my NYSC which will start next month.

I would like to know my scholarship chances and how I can just beat cost, chances of PR and the course you would advise I should choose for masters?

Forget it you stand no chance .....they total money u can get from your NYSC assuming you save drastically will be around 200k, that can not afford your flight tickets .......
And moreover Australian schools do not offer 100% scholarship for msc students, they might give u some discounts off your tuition fees but not 100% except for phd students.

I will recommend you go for common wealth scholarship program.

Rough estimate:

2 semesters school fees is equal to #9,000,000.00
3 months upkeep @ 120 AUD/week @ 250 # 360,000.00
6 months rent @ 400 AUD/week @250 #2,400,000.00
2 Children school fees for 3 months @350 per child per week #2,100,000.00
A small car estimated at 2500AUD #625,000.00
Visa fee for all 4 family members estimated at #1,600,000.00
Air ticket for all 4 estimated at #2,000,000.00
Logistics #1,000,000.00
Total #19,085,000.00

God forbid, I can't kill myself. The best i can raise out of this amount is only #14,000,000.00

Why not let your wife go first and join her later.
You must not move at once.
It will be less cheap that way.

You can join her later on dependant visa

Let me share my little experience in Tasmania. I came to this country last year November, Tasmania is a good place to live especially to grow up children. if you are the kind of person like me that hate traffic this might be the best place for you, low population and lovely people. No stress here like other part of the country because of the low population, the weather here is a bit cold and weather changes to different state nearly every hour that is, you cant predict the weather. Some people move to Tasmania mainly because of pr it is very easy here than most places in Australia. Once you work full time for a year, work six months in your field or study here for two years you can apply. One of the major problem most people face here is accommodation simply because movement of people from mainland to tasmania as trigger the price of accommodation and even scares. To get accommodation you will need to have rental history, payslips, water bills and so on which there is no way you can get this if you are new in the city to be honest is very very difficult expecially if you are with family. Job i can say job also is major issue here i worked for just two weeks since i landed last year "fruit picking" very hard job working in the sun for over 8hours. Even till now am still looking for job.

Most people do disability job but you need some license to work in that sector

You can't survive working here without having a car

Pay rate btw 25aud to 32aud some pay less

Rent for single room/ shared apartment from 180-250 per week
For family from 380-600 per week depending on the area Note: No one will give a family with kids a room apartment they give sign rent agreements based on the size of the family

Car from 1000 depending on your taste

Fuel 1.53 per liter depending on the type

We spend 80aud per week myself wife and kid for feeding

To family once you obtain your visa in my opinion let one person come to settle rent and job before the rest move in

To student get the half of the second semester fees job here will not pay second semester

Please is immigration really concerned about students working more than 20hrs in 2weeks .

I have already got admission for the one year. Waiting for visa, what can I do with it now, what way forward...

This is a little tricky.
They only people I know who are qualified for 2 year post study visa are those who did 2years course ,in your case u are going for 1 year meaning you don't qualify for it and as thus you will have to leave they country after your 1year course .
I don't know how possible it will be for u to secure admission into a 2year course over there.

Are you going for masters or Bsc?
Which school!

We are still waiting for grant o. School has already resumed. I have requested for deferral.
Someone submitted documents on 2 Dec. And got visa response in 13 February. That's about 75 days.
I submitted 13 Dec and I am yet to receive from that calculation end of February is when I should expect response. Same should apply for the rest of us. Just carry 75 days for mind.

To those experience plz... My course is a one year program, hospitality. After which I intend to further to do a degree 2 years, would that be good to apply for PR. Alternatively if I do this one year program and do another related program for one year.... Would that be considered as 2 years when I apply for PR if both are only diplomas.

Just go for a 2 year program and save your self the stress

Hi fam, please a quick question for those with experience.

Is the system of Australian study visa similar to that of Canada, where once you get a medical request you're almost sure of getting a grant (of course with legit documents submitted)?
Or getting a medical request is not a form of assurance towards securing the grant?

Its not, you are required to submit your medicals along with your application.

Wow...God have mercy on me.
I sincerely didn't know is before now, the study is a means of relocating an getting PR. I chose the 1 year because overall it's cheaper. I don't know if if I can pay for the other 3 semesters. What's the possibility of getting a job there to pay for the remaining semester?

Other another note, I am about rounding up my MSc here in Nigeria, perhaps I should be patient and apply for a funded PhD program. I just wanna leave this country this year. I am tired!
Please let's talk, I sent you a PM.

grin cheesy grin
I feel your pain and frustration .........but I will advice you to finish your masters and go for phd program.

Thanks much
Let me state that the proposed program is for 1 year as stated on their website. Now, is the 6M for everything , school fee, flight and visa?? Like everything?.

Yes its for everything.

But why are u going for 1year program , if your intention for going to Australia is for Permanent residence then you need to reconsider your decision .
Firstly when your point will reduce when you are applying for PR because its not up to 2 years
And you are not entitle to they normal 2 years work permit since you did not do a 2year program.

This simply means after your studies you just leave they country .

DonnyE:

Good morning, thanks for your response, I have worked for 4 years out of the 5 years since 2015, the tuition fee is 37000 AUD ,so with the 10000 AUD discount, it will be 27000 and half will be paid for the first semester. Can we say with all these that 5Million will get me visa? As some1 stated earlier? Meanwhile I don't want to write IELTS.

Firstly, the 10,000 is for 2 years, meaning you get 2500 per semester. Not 10,000 for 1 year.
So that your fee of 37000 is for one year and it will be divided into 2 representing first and second semester in a year.
So 37000รท2=18500, representing one semester
18500-2500=16000 . so you will pay 16000 for each of your semester.

Secondly, 5million will get you your visa, except your flight ticket. You will need a rough estimate of 6million naira to cover for both your flight.

Thirdly, you need to write they IELTS test even if they school does not demand it from you, immigration might ask for it, and if you eventually pass immigration and get your visa without it , while in Australia you might also need it for some jobs as almost everything there requires certificate, raging from jobs to other things.
Just write its not hard, as long as you can speak and understand English you will likely score band 6 which is OK.

Thanks for this.
Bro what are my chances!
I graduated 2015, Electrical/Electronic Engineering 4.03/5. About 3 years work experience in the Telecommunication industry( Network Engineer). Proposed course of study is Networking and Telecommunication Engineering @ University of Macquarie, Sydney. July intake.
NO IELTS
NO GRE
I am hoping to get scholarship or funding.

You stand a very good chance, but you will have to explain to them what you have been doing since 2015 you graduated.
Macquarie does not give scholarship .......they only offer 10,000AUD off your tuition payment and they wave IELTS test, but you need to write because immigration might ask you for it.
