Sports / Re: Rabiu Ibrahim Signs Lucrative 3 & Half Year Deal With Celtic by ow11(m): 2:43pm On Feb 02, 2012 |
^^ He raised the point of Joel Obi who wasn't really getting playing time but managed to add value to our bare midfield. Did a better job than regular Etuhu. You are still harping on Ibrahim's age (which I agree with you) and didn't agree that Ayew had to go to Arles Avignon on loan to save his Marseille career. It was his performances in Arles that got him into reckoning when he returned to Marseille. @12large1 was trying to say that if PSV didn't find value in Ibrahim, then Celtic would. This is where I disagree with him and would have expected you to counter with Rabiu's failed loan stint with a 2nd divison club in Portugal when he was still a Sporting Lisbon player. On the other hand, He has failed to admit that Rabiu's brilliance is phantom because he is an age cheat. Therefore, It is no surprise that he is unable to fulfil his potential and I doubt would do a Joel Obi, Emile Heskey or Miroslav Klose (rubbish club players but do a decent job in the national side). This is because Rabiu was anonymous in Egypt 2009. On a side note, Age cheating is an overwhelming advantage in U-17. After this, Talent begins to shine and by the U-23, It is almost non-existent. Theo Walcott is currently 22 and starts ahead of 30 year old Arshavin. One would think in an U-23 setting, the age difference would matter for little. It is just that the Africans would never develop better players to win the world cup if they continue to cheat and would only continue to produce 20-cap players till they stop this behaviour. |

^^^ One of the best things you would ever do for yourself as a man is to heed this advice! If it embarasses you that I have called you out, You should be quite aware that you put yourself in that mess by 'begging' or soliciting for 'help'. There is no shame in learning a new tact no matter how late. I do hope you come to that self realisation that you have received all the help you would ever need and today you are literate and healthy. The rest of it is up to you. Do not go on with life thinking that your existence depends on the goodwill of anyone else you will remain subservient to whoever throws you a bone. There are many ways to be successful and many different ideas of success. Choose what you would term as success, work hard to achieve it and quit 'begging'. On a side note, If you have geological queries, feel free to express them. |

egbeman1: No one would and should Can Nigerians stop with this self-defeatist attitude! 'I beg you' 'Help me'. . . . When did anybody get anywhere by begging? Have you bothered to visit proper forums and sell yourself positively without looking like a half wit. This thread is meant to exchange ideas and possibly get a bit of guidance BUT someone has come in looking for 'anything'. Kai! 1 Like |

cashmentor: One belligerent has a borderline inappropriate love for Rabiu Ibrahim. Even in the light of overwhelming negative evidence, the few dance moves performed by a rapidly declining player 4 years ago seems like yesterday and is used as proof why Rabiu Ibrahim needs to the be first name on the SE team sheet. The other has an insatiable need to rid all perceived 'online m0rons' of their 1diocy and has also launched a massive nairaland campaign against perceived age cheats in under age football. I am enjoying the banter and haven't picked anyside yet but I want to think 12large1 is leading on points so far. |

yamakuza: The 'money' is not really clean. The exact amount of ore deposits I daresay are unknown. Apart from Limestone mining which the big cement companies have cornered, not much is done. When appropriate 1: 20 000 geological maps are produced then the proper quantification of ore deposits can be carried out. Lecturers are busy drilling boreholes instead of pressurizing the appropriate ministry (solid minerals or interior) to map this country. |

Sagamite: 1. International Mobile 2. 'Suppressing' salary is meant to reduce operating cost and hence higher profit margins when revenue increases. The manager would be rewarded with a bigger bonus or a promotion if he has consistently posted larger profits. However, bereal16 is unaware that this practice is done in many companies all over the world and that they actually don't suppress the salary but the so-called IM staff are paid the extras as 'inconveniences' 3. I'm not sure about this perhaps he means that they shouldnt chase after their bonuses or something else. I'm guessing here. He must've worked there for 5 years but he isn't sure how and why there is a pay disparity amongst staff in the same company and is holding only one reason valid. which I think is not the most important reason why his IM friend earned 70% more than him. |
Politics / Re: El-rufai On The Nemesis Called Oil And Gas by ow11(m): 3:14pm On Oct 15, 2011 |
bassette: I would attack him because he does not mean well for Nigeria. He is just a disgruntled rent-seeker that is looking for relevance. Like an earlier poster posited, He should give us the history of groundnuts and why his kinsmen killed that industry. No one derives joy in downgrading another but it irks anyone when people like him pretend to care about Nigeria. He is being disingenuous with his write ups and I do not blame you for your stance because if you watch his tactics and that of some other politicians in Nigeria you would understand our grouse. We know all he has written and No one especially a thief would like to be judged by another with a questionable past. El-Rufai if he means well should publish his earnings throughout his stay as a favoured rent-seeker and justify the land he handed out to himself and his cronies before pontificating about an oil industry if properly managed he would have little contribution or benefit from. |
Sports / Re: Siasia's Records-the Facts by ow11(m): 10:00am On Oct 15, 2011 |
yomola: Siasia definitely has some positive output to the team BUT his naivety tactily and his over confidence (Against Togo in WAFU and now Guinea) has shown he is not the answer going forward. Every nation would love to have a Valery Lobanovsky and I think we can tinker till we find him. Siasia needs to work in the pro-league with all the attendant hassles and win the CAF champions league then I'd trust him with winning the AFCON which should be Nigeria's target to dominate the AFCON like Egypt did and then face the world. Those Guinean players are not better than our SE but on the day they were tactily disciplined and for some poor refereeing decisions should have indeed won that game. Siasia reminds me so much of Raymond Domenech. Headstrong and demands respect rather than earning it! |
Politics / Re: El-rufai On The Nemesis Called Oil And Gas by ow11(m): 9:48am On Oct 15, 2011 |
El-Rufai is now pontificating because GEJ's sharing largesse hasn't reached him. His antecedents as FCT minister does NOT remove him from the rent-seekers he is currently castigating. The turd is throwing tantrums like a 2 year old who has wet his pants because his source of free income is no more. I do NOT for one second believe this man means well for Nigeria and should keep his write-ups because we know he is only angling for a share of the spoils as he did as BPE director and FCT minister. |
Sports / Re: Siasia's Records-the Facts by ow11(m): 5:43am On Oct 14, 2011 |
Siasia has to go! We don't care about 'improved' play or his other excuses. He should have beaten Ethiopia!! I mean Ethiopia!!!! The dude has lost the plot and should get the boot. NFF supported him all the way and he has no excuses. However, I do not want to see any Serbian or backwater European mercenary. Nigerian football must go back into FIFA top 10 and I believe that can be achieved and sustained with a Nigerian coach . My shortlist for Siasia's replacements 1. Sunday Oliseh 2. Daniel Amokachi 3. Okey Emordi 4. Kadiri Ikhana 5. Stephen Keshi |

Dede1: Just for the records, Where do you think these porters came from? I'm putting together excerpts from all these gist. There is a rumour that Ogoni came from Ghana. However, If the original Ijaws where porters, were they also Ghanaian or other coastal villages along the Bight of Benin and Biafra? Also, do you know the origins of the kalabari language? |

That is because we do not quite know the exact events and have no archeological digs to back up any tale that we vociferously espouse. These 'problems' are the fruits of our cultural norm today. It is called GREED! I want it all! I want it all!! I want it all!!! Lets say you get twin boys after your expensive treatment, you get a child with down's syndrome and another with schizophrenia. Would you try again to have boys? Yes indeed, there are pseudo-scientists out there that can help you with your 'predicament' and with a lot of hope and 'prayers', your wish may be granted! However, your husband's fidelity has ZERO relationship with anything you say or do. The rumour mills have it that Patience is childless and Stella had a ret'arded child. This didn't stop their HOS husbands from cherishing them. I actually believe it is YOU and not your husband that 'wants' this male child. |
Crime / Re: Indecent Dressing Is The Major Reason Behind Most Rape Cases In Our High Institution? by ow11(m): 10:19am On Sep 28, 2011 |
The poster needs to be flogged for this thought process. Now blame the victim! Maybe If we stopped buying clothes and cars, we'd stop getting robbed If we stopped talking to people, we'd stop fighting If we stopped living, we'd never get sick If women covered up from head to toe, they'd stop getting raped. This thought behind this thread is daft and mean spirited. At no point did he insist that all rapists be tied to a stake and burnt or castrated as a deterrent. |

Thank heavens the church leadership no longer make important decisions on human life/societal norms in our world today. @Olaadegbu I think that scripture is meant for you. You are somehow reveling in your 'wisdom' at deciphering the bible that you have failed to see your own folly and God's apparent foolishness. |

ChinenyeN: sim means 'to call' Dede1: I think you've go it confused. I don't think people can make up stories just for political gain with no iota of truth. I had a story which is not exactly the same as yours. I have since realised that we are both rehashing oral traditions which you and I know are normally filled with exaggerations. Therefore, I do NOT believe we are both right. However, I do believe it is necessary to filter the gist handed down by our parents and the truth will emerge. You have never shifted your stance because you believe you know it all OR your parents do NOT embellish OR my parents are unrepentant LIARS! I do want the truth to surface and would willingly listen to opposing ideas to remove as many lies as possible. Since you won't allow your own story to be dissected, I would let it slide. Someone once mentioned on this forum that the 'tribal' affiliations Nigerians fight over were alien to our ancestors. I believe that line of thought and if we must make major groupings along these new tribal lines, then marking out generic boundaries would be Impossible as we are using mainly language similarities as our yardstick for assigning villages to 'tribes'. |
