About the elections being free and fair, this problem start long after elections had closed. The election day was fairly peaceful until the peace was broken at night and early friday morning.
Politics / Re: Northern Nigeria-what Do You Know About It? by pabanton: 1:01pm On Nov 30, 2008
How can you expect people to be safe in a place where almost every year there must be a crises such as Bauchi. You expect people to make investments only to loose it to madness I live in Jos, have lived in Bauchi, Maiduguri. Bauchi,Maiduguri and most other northerern state are very unfriendly to people who aren't hausas, or who don't speak perfect hausa, or who are christians. Plateau (Jos) is the friendliest northern state (most proabably because its predominantly christian state; but for these recent attempts to smear the state by the hausas who are claiming the state, inspite of the fact that they still go and partake in elections etc in kano, sokoto, maiduguri and bauchi,

Do you guyz know that the killings and burnings even started before the election results where released? What does a monastry at the katako area have to do with politics that it was ransaked? what do churches have to do with politics that they where burnt? If they wanted to protest an election how come political offices where not burnt

Sorry to say but its the bull-shit that the imams preach at mosques that cause such nonsense. Why is it that it is places where there are lots of muslims thats hard hit. Areas that have a higher christian population but have muslims among them are still living in peace even though there is tension.

Does islam really encourage killing in order to vent out your grieviance?

How come there are substantial reports that well to do muslims/alhaji's have imported weapons (ak47's and sub machine guns) and armed their kroonies How come there are substantial reports that mercenaries are being imported from neighbouring bauchi to fight
