Politics / Wike Must Go For Rivers State To Be Liberated by Patawaz: 10:08am On Mar 05, 2019
The Coalition of Governorship Candidates and Party Chairmen (CGCPC) has denied claims that 58 political parties endorsed Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, as their sole governorship candidates.

CGCPC accused Wike of plans to cause violence in the state during the March 9 governorship election, just as they dissociated themselves from endorsing Wike as a sole candidate for the election.

This was contained in a statement issued by Pastor Warigbani Ezekiel Zebulun, the CGCPC Chairman and APDA governorship candidate, and Honourable Chibuzor Anele, the CGCPC Secretary, on Monday.
The CGCPC said they had studied the political terrain and recent events in Rivers State and had “frowned at them”.

And the Fifty-Eight Political Parties did not endorse Wike as their sole Governorship Candidate they took the following decisions: “That we wholeheartedly disassociate ourselves from the concocted, misguided and shameful endorsement of Barr. Nyesom Wike as sole governorship by candidate by a purported coalition of 58 political parties. Such endorsement is watery and belated.
Politics / Dumo Lulu-brigg: The Man Who Will Liberate Rivers State by Patawaz: 11:52am On Mar 04, 2019
Lulu-Briggs: Rivers & People
By onyemaechi Alfred

For the people of Rivers State and those who have been opportune to interact with him, nothing could best describe him than an extra-ordinary philanthropist and perfect gentleman, a personification of undiluted humanness and complete example of leadership symbolism.
Chief Barrister Dumo Lulu-Briggs is a cynosure of all eyes, his love for supporting the ‘seemingly neglected’ people in the society speaks volume.

DLB as he is popularly known in the political circle made a bold appearance into the Rivers State political scene far back in 1992 and by the year 2003, he had the ticket to contest the governorship election on the platform of the National Democratic Party (NDP) when he contested with the former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili.

Though he lost the election then, the Kalabari-born business mogul and grassroots mobiliser had been touring places doing good to people who came in contact with him. Dumo is loved by his people and generally admired by all, his mien speaks volume. DLB has touched so many lives to the admiration of many. He has also rescued many from the shackles of poverty and given them a new lease of life.
Dumo abhors corruption; he is selfless, respectful and God-fearing man whose love for service to the people is sacrosanct. His political support base cuts across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State.
A survey conducted recently in Port Harcourt indicates that Dumo is far ahead of other philanthropists in terms of enhancing the well-being of his people. Dumo has never been indicted with any form of corruption or linked to any form of dubious tendencies; be it cultism-related or politically-motivated.

Dumo is a man who always has the penchant for championing the course of Rivers State students and so many other groups. In 2003, even before he made a landmark appearance in the Rivers State governorship race, DLB sponsored thousands of Rivers students in tertiary institutions till they successfully completed their education. He is committed to enhancing the welfare of the poor.
While other politicians who seem to be gunning for the Brick House in 2019 are busy gathering people for a bottle of Schnapps and Whisky, Dumo is channelling his hard-earned resources to building human capacity. His group, Dumo Support Group, is found in every nook and cranny of Rivers State providing support for the downtrodden and other physically challenged people.

Most people in the state believe that a man who is tirelessly giving hope to the hopeless deserves a place in the political arena. They maintain that if DLB is given the opportunity to serve his people, he would deploy his wealth of experience to serve the people and they will be happy.
For him, he is alive in order to serve humanity. His mien tells it all and his humanitarian services are being acknowledged by all.
Victor Nlerem, a political strategist described DLB as God-fearing and fit for the position of governor of Rivers State.
Nlerem said: “Since 1999 when I came in contact with him, Dumo had been in the business of giving out scholarships from secondary to tertiary students in the 23 local government areas of the state.
“He is a man with passion for excellence in everything he does. I’m sure he will be ready to bring that to bear if given opportunity to serve his people. I think he deserves an opportunity to serve and I have no doubt he would perform and restore the glory of the Garden City.”

Majority of the people believe that with Dumo’s wealth of experience and successes recorded in the field of business, the rate of unemployment will reduce, even as security challenges prevalent in the oil-rich state will be nipped in the bud.
Dumo had maintained: “The true worth of a man is not in the millions of naira in his coffers or wealth accumulated; it is in the way he treats people who are absolutely in need. If you care about people in need, you are actually making a contribution to the development of a nation. We need to give back to the people. Democracy is important in governance.
“We need to see how we can use the available resources to care for people, create employment for all, especially for those who are truly in need. The gap between the poor and the rich should be bridged. Those of us blessed with material resources need to share with others, we must strike a balance with our resources.”

According to credible sources in Rivers State, Dumo’s defection to the Accord Party (AP) signifies good omen to the people of Rivers State. Already, majority of the people in Rivers State are of the opinion that this is the time the people require most the services of DLB. They believe Dumo’s presence in the party will, no doubt, elicit victory for them come 2019 considering his charisma and versatility in human capacity building.

According to Chinwe Ohaka, a member of the Accord Party in Rivers State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs is a force to reckon with. Ohaka said a vote for Dumo in 2019 is a vote in the right direction.
Hear him: “As a business man, who has successfully managed his business empire very well, DLB can manage the resources of Rivers State very well. During my unionism days, we paid him a visit and he empowered us very well. He showed us love; he gave us support and provided us with a 14-seater bus, even when the then governor could not provide us with a bus.

“Dumo gave us sets of computers to equip our students’ business centre. For me, DLB is the most qualified person to occupy the Rivers State Government House because he understands the problem of the people and he can confront challenges, particularly the menace of insecurity.
“Dumo can reach out to ‘those boys’ and speak their language. Dumo is truthful and generous to a fault. This is the right time we will in One Accord give him our support because we know that he would salvage us and lead us to the Promised Land “,

Politics / Dumo Lulu - Briggs Is The Valid Nominated Governorship Candidate Of R/state by Patawaz: 12:42pm On Mar 02, 2019
The Accord Party has rejected a Federal High Court judgment, declaring a former Chairman of the party, Mr Precious Barido, as its governorship candidate in Rivers.

The National Chairman of the party, Mr Muhammed Nalado, made the party’s position known, while briefing newsmen, on Friday in Abuja.

He said Mr Barido never indicated interest in contesting for the governorship position; neither did he participate in the party primary.

“The party never at any time submitted his name or particulars to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as our candidate.

“The party duly submitted the name of Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs as its candidate.

Nalado alleged that Barido was an impostor working in collusion with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate in Rivers.

He insisted that Lulu-Briggs was the rightful candidate of the Accord Party, having met all the necessary requirements of the party and the INEC to contest for the 2019 gubernatorial election.

He said, the party has appealed the judgment, asking for stay of status quo, which recognises Lulu-Briggs as the duly nominated candidate for the governorship election in Rivers.

Politics / Justice Walter Onnoghen - Pdp Is Indeed Synonymous To Corruption by Patawaz: 8:17pm On Jan 13, 2019
Following reports of the move to prosecute Justice Walter Onnoghen, Chief Justice of the Federation, over an alleged infraction
on the Code of Conduct laws, the swift statement by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) condemning the purported move has again exposed the Party as one with a natural inclination to rise up in defence of cases of alleged corruption”, APC said in the statement which was signed by
its spokesman, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.

APC said PDP’s resort to baseless postulations anytime issues of corruption is leveled against public
officers only confirm what Nigerians already know. “PDP and corruption are Siamese twins that are difficult to separate from each other.
One would have thought that the PDP will call for impartial investigations when corruption cases are levelled against public officers, but
spinning falsehoods and conspiracies remains the opposition party’s favourite past time. “The fight against corruption remains a cardinal
promise made by the APC to the electorate. We assure the PDP and indeed all Nigerians that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration remains uncompromising in its determination to rid the country of this malady. “As noted on many occasions by President Buhari, it is only those who have committed crimes that need to worry.

The APC administration will not hesitate to investigate and prosecute any public officer if and when such is indicted for corruption.
“Achieving acceptable elections in all democratic climes is a collective effort which require the contributions and support of all well-meaning
Nigerians, political parties, institutions and sundry interests. “Commendably, in successive elections conducted under the APC administration,
the Party has played by the rules, which has led to credible elections.

This cannot be said of the PDP era when state institutions were deployed to manipulate the electoral process. The PDP’s baseless conspiracy
theory on APC’s participation in the 2019 general elections should hereby be disregarded. We remain solidly committed to ensure that the
forthcoming election go on record as one of the freest, most credible and peaceful elections in the country.

Politics / Azura-edo Power Project And President Buhari Intervention by Patawaz: 4:45pm On Jan 12, 2019
In 2014 former President Goodluck Jonathan flagged off the $1 billion independent power project in Azura, Edo state. After a long and complex gestation with frequent setbacks caused by Edo PDP and former President Jonathan, 450MW Azura-Edo gas power project finally reached financial close on 28 December, 2015. President Buhari came to the rescue ordering the resumption of work at Edo-Azura power plant.

Nigerians need to commend President Muhammadu Buhari for the Financial Close for Azura Power Plant in Edo State
The Federal Government approval 0f US$900 million private sector investment were given by President Buhari, paving the way for financial close in December 2015, and the commencement of construction in January 2016. The 459MW project was completed in May 2018, seven months ahead of schedule.

The Buhari administration has not folded its hands since its inception, idling away in the office. It has taken a hands-on approach, playing the leadership role with policy consistency and special projects intervention to deliver stable electricity to Nigerians. Confronting challenges in the power sector by this administration has taken a huge political will. Cross Section of Power sector Quick Fixes between 2016 and Now.

Politics / Lies Of Atiku- Atiku Cannot Be Trusted by Patawaz: 6:36pm On Jan 10, 2019
But even in these borrowed clothes, Atiku and his supporters know there is no way he will escape the inquest about his personality, the probe of the many corruption and sleaze cases dogging him at every corner, the question of how Atiku, whose known designation before he went into politics, was a retired senior customs officer, happened on his fabled wealth. They all know that Atiku has so much questions to answer Nigerians who have come to associate him with every giant corruption case since 1999; be it the Halliburton scam, the Malabu con, the Siemens fraud, the power sector scam, the privatization scandal, among so many high profile cases of sleaze that bear his indelible imprimatur.

Atiku’s corruption indictment goes even beyond Nigeria as he was indicted in a United States money laundering case that is weaved around his purchase of franchise for his American University of Nigeria Yola. For this case, an American congressman was jailed but it was enough to keep Atiku a fugitive from the United States since he left power in 2007. With these and many other gargantuan scruples, those that put forward Atiku as an alternative to President Buhari knew they had an unwinnable war in their hands trying to sell a moth-ridden candidate to Nigerians who are still reeling from the debilitating aftermath of the corrupt acts of Atiku. They know Atiku’s liabilities are far too weighty to be ignored by Nigerians in choosing who leads them from 2019 but they were simply overwhelmed with the scent of his dollars to believe they will bluff their way through with Nigerians.
Politics / Lies Of Atiku by Patawaz: 6:19pm On Jan 10, 2019
For allegedly lying on how he grew up, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, cannot be trusted.
Joining issues with Atiku over a statement credited to him on how he sold firewood as an orphan,The Presidency said it was wrong of a 38-year-old man to refer to himself as an orphan. Atiku had on Monday while unveiling his campaign policy document titled: ‘The Atiku plan’ recounted how he started out selling firewood as an orphan in Adamawa before he got rich.“I started out as an orphan, selling firewood on the streets of Jada in Adamawa, but God, through the Nigerian state, invested in me and here I am today. If Nigeria worked for me, I owe it as my duty to make sure that Nigeria also works for you,” the former vice president was quoted as saying.

But, the Presidency yesterday took on the PDP presidential standard bearer through the Social Media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari,
Lauretta Onochie, who described Atiku’s statement as lies and urged Nigerians not to trust the former Vice President. Onochie wondered how Atiku became an orphan in 1984 when he was rich at the age of 38. She argued that “it’s disrespectful and insulting to Nigerians for a candidate or anyone to lie to them.” Onochie, on her Facebook page wrote: “Atiku cannot be trusted; I started life as an Orphan in Jada”-Abubakar Atiku (BIG FAT LIE)
“ORPHAN – a child whose parents (father and mother) are dead. In his book, MY LIFE (2013 pg 30) refers: Atiku said his mother died in 1984.
This was when he was 38 years. He was old enough to buy mum a house. “What’s the point of this lie – to deceive Nigerians and get their sympathy?
It’s disrespectful and insulting to Nigerians for a candidate or anyone to lie to them. “He is saying we are too gullible to find out the truth.
No, we are not. President Buhari, nor Vice President Osibanjo will never lie to Nigerians.”
