Hi! I'll be coming to Siena during the weekend but accommodation is still a bit of a problem. Any advice? I'd really appreciate your response.

I'll advise you to book atleast for a week(use booking.com) if you have the money. So that you can look for an accommodation during that time because my brother if you come here without that you'll be frustrated... Like a friend will say that's my 1kobo

Hello All,

This is my valedictory speech. You have blessed me with your posts on nairaland and please forgive me for asking many questions, cracking jokes and my English. Now I have achieved my aim. Guess what? God's favorite pikin have been granted National Visa D, multiple entry, for one year!! Nobody can pray for anything better... I cannot wish for anything better... but I know all along that God loves me and won't forsake me for all the many many years wey I don serve am till I can now call myself "God's favorite pikin"... devil fought me till the last moment, people abandoned me, some thought I won't make it... but WHO CAN BELIEVE THE REPORT OF THE LORD? TO WHOM HAS THE ARM OF THE ALMIGHTY BEEN REVEALED TO?... i am crying now... when God told me years back that I will go to Sicily, I never knew where it was on the map of the world... I had to google it then and do a thorough research about it... and when I got this pre-acceptance letter to UniMe (maybe like eight years later, now), I never knew Messina was in Sicily?!!! So I stop here....

Adieu!

Wow... Welcome.... After all the struggle.. An advise for though, pls book a place you can stay for a week at least so that u won't have d headache most people are having here

Show me that man/woman wey talk say God no dey exist, make I gist am my experience so e go follow me praise God.

I have collected my visa to the glory of God.

All the stress, sleepless nights, prayers and novenas even three days dry fasting wasn't in vain.

God you are wonderful.

List of documents submitted:

- Visa form (filled on pc or mobile)
- All legalized documents
- DOV
- Letter of admission
- Bio data
- Sponsorship letter (with dad's company letter headed paper)
- Sponsor's statement of account
- Sponsor's pension savings account statement
- Documents of sponsor's landed properties
- Certificate of registration of sponsor's company
- Photocophy of sponsor's driver's license
- Two passport photographs
- Two coloured photocopies of my passport data page
- Flight reservation
- Hotel reservation
- Coloured photocopy of my Austrian visa

Note: No insurance!

Also, don't be fooled by the lies told by agents and their likes at the gate of the Italian consulate of "oh you must have 5 million or 7 million in ur account".

If you are going for masters, and you have at least 2.5 million and you are being sponsored by your dad or mum with all the necessary documents submitted plus prayers and fasting, you wld be given a visa!

I am a testimony!

Shout out to smithsydny and geekytobi. I bless God for using you guys to assist me on the journey to getting my visa.

Aint getting carried away. I know the struggle has just begun. One chapter has closed, another one is abt to be opened.

Baba God is in control.

which city are u going to bro?

Congrat KenModi, this is goodnews indeed and it is making me relax now. Also geekytobi was granted visa on Thursday via VFS Lagos, so it is more goodnews, and though I do not know about the turnover, his sponsor account was definitely less than two million.

My result could have been out on Thursday I cannot tell as it takes two working days to reach VFS Abuja, weekend exclusive, so I have to wait till next week (working days) to find out. So by all indications, I am the last man standing now... humorously speaking, maybe the First shall be the Last... or was it the Last shall be the First? What a paradox!

Don't worry bro.. You'll join us in Italy... At least now you know insurance is not needed for masters

Thanks be to God.. arrived safely in Rome.

As per point of entry experience...nothing was asked. I just showed them my letter of admission, my passport was stamped and the dude said "Bienvenuto"

Ethiopian airlines ticket prices varies... depends on when and where you purchased yours.

Please anyone in the house, is there any need to get a yellow fever card for entering Italy?

I applied on the 5th of September I.e after the denial.. And it came out on 12th of september

I have over 10 people currently in Siena, I have over 4 people rejected this year (though they reapplied and waiting for visa) I have another 6 people granted visa to Siena This month. U can't tell me anything about Siena. Even the scholarship format sample circulating among the student (both old and prospective students) was done by my kid bro in sienna

The people ur talking about what documents did dey submit? who were their sponsors? Wat document did dey present to backup their statement?

I think you'll do alot of us here a great service by answering those questions u mentioned above. Am aware the sponsor has to be a mother/father. But what documents do u need to back up a statement like you said? Thank u in advance.

U are very correct. U need insurance wen u are going to write a test . But if u are already admitted, No need for insurance. I think dis was Y most ppl going to Seina were rejected.

True talk... My friend going to Siena was denied but he has applied again with insurance.. Hopefully it'll come out good.

Ok Thanks... Now it's clear why some require health insurance from home and some can decided to do it in Italy.. If you know that u must write a test before you're admitted it is advised to have a health insurance from home

I have submitted my application since the 8th of august and still haven't gotten a reply, anytime I track the my application via the vfs site it says "your visa is still being processed at the Italian consulate"is there a reason to be worried?considering people who applied after me have been called over....Is there any way I can directly contact the embassy over this issue?v

Call the vfs guyzz not the embassy.... Because while submitting they'll ask you to call a number by 15working days I.e if u haven't been contacted by then

Dear Patechezz! A police report was not part of the documents I submitted. The required documents are stated clearly on the website, although people may tend to provide more than required they absolutely not necessary. Also, I hear people talk about prayer and fasting and all that, to be frank, I am not religious and would not like bringing up religious sentiments when it comes to things that have a well-defined process.

To shock my religious fellows here, you do not really need to pray or fast or do any of those things to get a visa. The process of visa application is well defined and the requirements are well stated if you provide all the genuine documents required and with sufficient means of sustenance, I tell you whether you believe in God or not, you will be granted the visa. Unfortunately, our people have been blinded by religion to the extent that they want God to do for them what they can do for themselves.

Ciao Tuti!

Thanks alot

Dear Daniel, trust you are doing great! Most times I do not comment on issues but I felt compelled to do so because of the question you asked. First, the situation here is not as easy as it seems. It is difficult for those that understand the Italian language to get a job, imagine your chances of getting a job without knowledge of the Language. Although it is not impossible but very difficult and would take some time too. Second, you are allowed to work for only 4 hours and most employers are very cautious of that and if you are opportune to get one, you will not be allowed to work more than 4 hours. Third, Nigerians here have created a bad image and it would take your ability to stand out and make a difference to convince Italians. Lastly, if you really do not have a means of income or sufficient money to take care of your needs for up to 6 months, I advise you consider carefully your options as most of our people here are beggars (for guys), prostitutes (for ladies), and drug pushers (for those that have the gut). All the same, I wish you the very best of any decision you come up with. Ciao Amico!
