I joined a major pension firm in Nigeria as a contract staff, a company that if u mentioned its name , all ur friends will just scream ,baba o! (like too much money, u knw what i mean)

I worked my head off, did my supervisor’s(full time employees) job without stress and i never complained to them, but trust me i was complaining to God. I kept my attitude intact, never felt inferior , and never allowed no one talk to me as trash.infact if u talked me down, i would use a much more calmer tone and give u my piece of mind calmly(u sef go know say na condition make crayfish bend) .I got several promotions that would earn me like additional 5k or 8k or 10k(but really what would that amount do for a grown person in 2013)

The worst part is that as long as i was a contract staff, it was affecting my opportunities of getting employed in a good firm, maybe because they usually felt that the pay they are offering is way bigger than what i was earning. I learnt everything i could learn, enjoyed every thing i could enjoy while at it and continued to pray to God.
I was been paid 52k and fast forward, 4 yrs later, went for an interview with another firm after like 9 months i was called to resume.
I am not there yet,but am glad i dropped the red tag called outsource/contract or whatever tushness it is called. In my opinion, its a trap to any Good employees career.
If you are in this shoe right now, please pray well and look well and learn all you can so that when u have the opportunity, you can shine.

A certificate wont do you any good really...a degree is much better...then all you would have to do is just take a test or whatever.....but a certificate doesn't mean anything...because the certificate could have been given to you by your uncle in Makoko..so they dont trust it...cheers

Thanks for ur commments.I currently stay with a friend whose wife will deliver a baby soon(which means the roomm I occupy is no longer available).the accomodation my parents found is so far.I work on the island and the accomodation they got is akute(I hope anybody here can get the distance involved).f I move in with them there,it may take a toll on ma health.please keep the advise flowing

While i know that people here may or maynot relate with my tale.

I am the eldest of of my siblings and close to thirty years of age with a fiance and a job that pays about 70k monthly. my parents are in lagos and do not have a very good accomodation to stay, infact they have been ejected and given a 2 month grace to move out of the house. I and my fiance have been planning our wedding and the first step we took was to get an apartment(which ended up being a scam, after we had paid half the cost, we are trying to retrieve the money now).

Currently, i have some funds saved up, but it can only pay for one apartment. my parents have found a house which they are indirectly requesting i pay and me and my fiance have also found another house. The question now is which do i pay for? ours(we are yet to be married) or my parents(for sibling and honor sake). please note that Dad and Mum cant even raise a 20k to pay for the apartment also my fiance does not know the current state of my parents rent.
