Religion / Re: 15 Things You Shouldn't Say To An Atheist by pattycakeman: 4:56pm On Dec 12, 2013
It will never cease to suprise me how many times poeple will have this debate. It will seem to me that atheists enjoy telling christians/muslims how stupid thier beliefs are and while christians/muslims love telling atheists how their soul will burn in hell if they dont believe in the existence of GOD. I think one common thing to all people whether they belive in a supreme being or not is that we have freedom to believe what we want and that freedom is yours alone. As a Christian i dont try to force my belief on atheists rather i tell them i respectfully disagree with thier contention that there is no GOD. i do this because if i were to step outside the box of my beliefs i could see why a rational mind would say there is no GOD. I believe that even GOD knows this and that is why he asks us to have faith, faith in something as unbelievable as the existense of a supreme being who sent his son to the world to die for our sins. That being said the only problem i have with atheists is the fact that they act like believing in creationism is so stupid (i believe someone on this thread already said that) without realizing that evolution is just as stupid (i mean they call it the theory of evolution). How can you expect me to believe your theory as to how all this things came to be when right after you tell me how, you attach a disclaimer that says "oh we dont know it all yet but this is our best guess" (The OP said this as well). Science is so incomplete because as we all know there are many things science cannot explain or reproduce. The theory of evolution has so many flaws i couldnt even begin to name them all, so in conclusion your beliefs are just as unbelievable as mine but it is your GOD given right (see what i did there lol) to believe whatever floats your boat. Peace

Politics / Re: Asari Dokubo's Mansion In Port Harcourt by pattycakeman: 7:23pm On Jun 15, 2013
Billyonaire: Nairalanders and beef. Are Niger Deltans supposed to work in reality ? Listen, Niger Deltans are not supposed to work a day in their lives. How hard do Qatar citizens work ? How hard do Kuwaitis work ? Congrats to Asari.

Your comment is ridiculous and filled with wrong facts and the fact that 37 people liked it shows the terrible mindset of Nigerians. Niger delta last time I checked was still in Nigeria and any benefit derived there belongs to the entire nation. The countries you mentioned all have regions that are producing oil but what ever benefit they are enjoying is for the entire nation and it definetely does not include not working. As someone that has lived in several of those countries I can tell you first hand that the people do work and most of them are not rich. The only thing we owe the Niger Deltans as a country is to make sure their lands are not polluted and to put up good infrastructure. Whatever money Asari has gotten is not an entitlement to Niger Deltans, he is a product of a corrupt system like all the people at the top in Nigeria.

Politics / Re: Northerners Are Not Controlling Nigeria's Oil Blocks by pattycakeman: 2:20pm On Mar 08, 2013
This article IMO is in essence the problem with Nigeria. The first guy said Northerners control the oil. Mr geologist says no it is a mix of northerners and southerners but nobody is yet to point out the elephant in the room that when is it OK to be sharing a nations resources between a select few whether northerners or southerners. Nigeria's main problem from day one has been tribalism. The oil belongs to the people of Nigeria and it is not for those in power to be dashing it out like it's thier father's property. Only the NOC (NNPC) should own the oil blocks while allowing the E&P companies to acquire working interest. There are enough auxillary services that come with exploration that would allow investors throug a transparent system to benefit from oil production. Take a cue from other oil producing companies that have strong NOC's. Petrobras, PetroChina, Aramco, e.t.c. This is not to say that will solve all the problems in the oil industry but at least it will free up the argument of who is controlling what between the different tribes and regions and allow us to focus more important issues like how to stop wasting resources, why there are only few petrochemical facilities in Nigeria? and how to channel gains from the oil industry back into the Nigerian economy.

My two cents, not that it matters.

Celebrities / Re: Lest We Immortalize Nuisance …the “goldie” Situation. by pattycakeman: 4:52pm On Feb 21, 2013
The original post is all over the place and while it may have been written with good intentions it seem incoherent to me. So after rereading your post several times i eventually understood what your Issue was and here is my two cents, it is not said to ridicule or judge but to offer a different view. Firstly it would seem you are upset because your dead friend is not celebrated like this person Goldie and this irks you because you feel he was more honorable than Goldie. Secondly you are upset that society celebrates or embraces sinful behaviors with reference to Dolly Parton and Dr Dre. Then you are mad that B.Obama inferring that he is a gangster that killed MLK's dream because he is killing innocent people with drones. Lastly you believe the lesson from all of this is that we should live a life that is worthy in the eyes of our creator because death can come at any time. I summarized your post to make sure I understand the gist of it before I comment.
Now for my comment. With regards to the first point if you have a relationship with GOD as you implore us to do then things like this should not bother you. GOD is in control and does not make mistakes. The bible says GOD is not to be deceived, whatever a man does he will reap. He also said only GOD knows the heart of a man. So the person whom you think is honorable may not be honorable before GOD. You are not GOD as you are human like everyone of us you cannot see the inner workings of each man. It's like saying the terrorists that attacked America are honorable or that the American soldiers killing innocent soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan are honorable. Such debates about being honorable should not include GOD at all and are mere opinions. Your second opinion regarding the sinful nature of the world, I gather from your name and you post that you are not a Christian so this may go over your head. Everything happening is a fulfillment of the prophecy regarding the return of our lord and savior JESUS Christ and while i am not saying we should join the world in celebrating such things we do our selves a huge disservice if we are more concerned about such things rather than working out our salvation with fear and trembling. You third comment about B.Obama does not need any explanation as your bias is based on religious beliefs so I understand. Lastly regarding judging we differ again based on religious beliefs because my bible tell me that I should not judge anyone it does not list what I can judge or can't judge. I am not a creator and all judgement is reserved for GOD to judge anyone is to try to be like GOD which is a sin. In summary I think while you have good intentions and decent comments your post is biased based on your religious beliefs.
