I met someone in Union bank this morning who has also promise to help me fast track the form A processing. so between keeping my money in Zenith bank, potting to first bank or potting to union bank, which do you think will be the best option for me to take

Go with Union bank then. They have a way of going around it while Zenith and co usually depend on the weekly CBN forex auction

please guys, what's the way forward for funding of blocked account. which bank is the most recommended, because I'm tired of waiting for zenith bank and i really have to fund soonest. do anyone have any experience with first bank, because there is this banker there that wants to help me there. i don't really have time again. your response will be very much appreciated

First bank recently got reinstated into forex trading so you may want to try your luck. How certain is the individual who wants to help you? If he is very certain you may want to try his option.
I don't really see people writing about Union and Stanbic banks again. Those banks used to be the go-to banks in times of emergency. I'd suggest you ask or visit any of the aforementioned banks especially Union bank they have a way of working their magic.

@ DiBoss @ Armaniii Your accounts are all new May 2016 meaning you know next to nothing about some of us on this thread so I won't argue with you.
Again I wish to state it categorically that I AM NOT doing this for the sake of profit else I'd rather transfer through dorm account and have them sell it to black market traders in Nigeria

@ JogahBonito I just checked your account and found out that you are relatively new here.
I suggest you check the history of some of us in this forum. We have come a long way... Obviously you won't know that because you are new. I personally will not condescend to the level of exploiting my fellow man. If you feel so then you must have trust issues.

You really don't need TOEFL/IELTS There are schools that require just English Certification like ULM, Tubingen etc

Eke I travelled to Graben for the Job in October and NOT because I need a job immediately. By then I would have been through with my studies ok?! FYI I teach music in Leipzig every weekend so I do not necessarily have to travel to Graben and forsake my studies when I am not on leave!

You said Tosin is going south for Oktoberfest........ What is the bone of contention here? I said there are student jobs I didn't say there are jobs that will make you rich over night I even gave a clearly analytic explanation of someone who was able to pay off his debts by means of a ''student job'' because he's been living a prudent life style.
That Tosin has decided to move south whether for Oktoberfest or permanently either because he doesn't speak German or he hasn't made much effort in getting a decent job is his own decision.

I remember your brutal comment about this same city last two years and last year if I had adhered to your ''advice'' I would have sit my butt in Nigeria just because of those statements of yours. But guess what................................ I have NO REGRET WHATSOEVER being here!

What I am trying to point out is that you should STOP discouraging people from making decisions. Some persons only applied to FSU Jena. Are you trying to discourage them from coming to Germany because of what ''people'' told you?

Eke if you like bring the whole of Jena to this thread and let everyone say whatever they want to say it is non of my business. There's something about being positive about life. No matter how good or bad a thing is there are certain people who will never see the positive side of it!

I still maintain that if you are knowledgeable in German and you have Jena as a viable option please come because the city is absolutely inexpensive to live in and you will most likely get a student job either in the city or in neighboring cities. Conclusively as people will say ''everyone come life with e own head''.

Eke40seven:

Okay. Wait, you will hear from the horse's mouth soon.
We all know 95% of the people leaving here cannot speak German. So I am speaking as a Nigerian.
I will probably invite someone soon, one has spent 2 years and the other 1 year plus. They will feed you the hard truth!
"If you are hoping to make some money while schooling and you are from Nigeria. I will warn you again DON'T GO TO JENA!!!!!!!!" That was a quote by someone who schooled in that environment for almost 2 years now.
Two people living in the city and close by have warned me personally.
A friend Tosin is even moving down south for Oktoberfest jobs.
If it was as rosy as you painted, you won't travel all the way down to Graben here in Bavaria almost 10 hours by bus to do an interview for a job. I stay relatively closer to Graben but yet still considering the sacrifice and inconvenience.
Do you live in the city? You might have been lucky to get one though, but in general many will find it tough.
Since you live there, no shit then.
I support people living in smaller and cheaper cities where there are jobs than bigger cities because of cost of housing. However, if you stay in a studentenwerk accommodation, things level themselves out. Studentenwerk München doesn't come cheap though compared to other places.

I'm sorry, this may raise up past issues but this is in response to a post by Eke40seven which I read sometime ago. I couldn't reply because I was tied up with so many stuffs.
Boss Eke I do not know where and how you got those information that you wrote about Jena in this thread however, I am writing to debunk those claims.
Firstly, while I do not encourage people to borrow huge sum of money in a bid to get to Germany, I wouldn't discourage anyone who is willing to try out their luck. Fate has a way of repaying everyone for their effort.
Secondly, to that guy who's thinking of coming to Jena, please do. You are highly welcome! In fact do whatever it takes to see your dream of coming to Germany become a reality.
Jena is NOT exactly the way Eke painted it. It is a city not some suburb. There are student jobs in Jena, Erfurt, Nora, Weimar to mention a few. All you require is good command of the German language. Without German knowledge, the probalilty of you getting a job in Jena is slim you may have to go out to the other cities which I mentioned earlier.
I am not trying to defend the city but in all honesty having a student job here is more profitable than having it in the big cities. Why? On the average a prudent student will not spend more than 380-420 euros per month. House rent 180, insurance 83, feeding and other petty things make up the balance. Now how many ''big cities'' can average that? I know of people who pay 450-550 euros per month on rent alone.
Even if you decide to not work you can still save as much as 250 euros per month.
Finally most Nigerians and indeed Africans in Jena have jobs. We all know the nature of student jobs......
I know of a friend who borrowed 1.4million naira. He earns around 400-450 euros per month from his mini job. As I write this, he has been able to send 4600 Euros home in the space of seven months! How did he do it? He's been living on his earnings and hasn't touched the money in his block account for seven months!
So Boss Eke I do not understand where those statement of yours emanated from.
Anyone who's not had a Job since they got here probably haven't put in enough effort in getting one or they have no knowledge of German.
I recently decided to prove to myself that there are jobs in this city by going out in search of a job. There was virtually no place I stopped by that they didn't consider giving me a mini job so what are we saying?
Conclusively, if you are to risk borrowing, ensure that:
You are knowledgeable in German
You have a fair idea of the job condition in that city
The city you intend to live in is relatively inexpensive.

My one cent advice.

You got the amazon job in Graben? Leave Bavaria talk, the semester ticket for schools in Bavaria and Baden Würrtenburg na rubbish compared to most other states. I can't go beyond Munich metropolitan area, so someone in Augsburg (though 1 hour away) is as good as being in another state save for distance.

Boss I have an appointment with Amazon, Graben this week.
Just need a place that I can fall back to in case I get stranded and cannot make it back to my city that same day.

Hello Everyone its good to be back!
What have I missed? Lolz..... grin

For the extension of terms, I believe it is up to the individual. Extension depends on your program. Ideally master students have a maximum of two extra terms. What most guys do here is that after two terms, they go on leave for one term and make COOL cash. The money they make during this period can last for the next two terms all things being equal. The good thing is that they still maintain their status as a students. Meaning they enjoy the little benefits that go along with being a students....

Please I need 'someone' who knows 'someone' that may know 'someone' that lives in Augsburg, Graben to be precise.
So please if you live in Augsburg or you know someone that lives there, in fact just follow the chain so long as I can get in touch with someone who lives there I'll be grateful grin.

Hehehehehehe no crucify me o! No be me get English!

Its pretty urgent please!
