Religion / Re: The Flaws Of Christianity, Religions And The Path To Religious Unity. by paxonel(m): 7:51pm On Sep 14
fredwill1357:
Why am I creating this topic? I create this topic to enlighten the world and to also get enlightened from people's inputs.

I sometimes see some Muslims singing Christian songs, and I reason within me how more peaceful, united and harmonious the world can become if we all realized that the universal God is one and God doesn't have a religion. Religions are merely pathways to God, created by man, sometimes with the help and inspirations of the holy spirit. However the supreme pathway to God is to worship God in spirit, truth and uprightness.

Why was the old testament and new testament mixed together? There are actually two different religious text, the old testament belongs to the Judaism religion and the new testament was created by the followers of Jesus.
This was done in a bid to paint Jesus as the messiah of the Jews prophesied about, the Jews till this day reject Jesus as their messiah, pointing out that he didn't fulfill the messianic prophecies. Yet some people continue to force Jesus on the Jews.

In the old testament for example, the Jewish god pointed out that he was a jealous unforgiving god that visits the sins of the fathers upon the children. In the new testament Jesus pointed out that the universal God is love and ever forgiving.

For a God that never changes, this is contradictory, but of course Jesus wasn't talking about the Jewish God, he never mentioned Jehovah. Jehovah is not mentioned in the new testament, Jesus always or usually addressed God as Father or simply God.
God doesn't have a name, what is the use of a name? A name distinguishes or differentiates, for the universal God without equal, beginning or end, what is the use of a name?
We can of course address God with honorable titles, however God doesn't have a birth, native or specific name. He is what he is.

Jesus is not God, he repeatedly pointed this out in many bible verses but some people insist on twisting things.
In John 14:28 Jesus said the father is greater than I am.
In Mark 10:18 he said why do you call me good, nobody is good except God.
Jesus prays, who does he pray to if he is God.

Jesus said things like I and the father are one and if you see me, you have seen God, however he simply meant that the spirit of God dwells in him and he is a good representative of God. The spirit of God dwells in all of us, so same can also be said of every Godly upright human. That is why Jesus said everything you do to another human, you do to me and God.

You don't have to fight for God, this shouldn't bring malice. If you have a contrary opinion or something to say, just voice it politely. Nobody knows it all, we are all learners.

To be continued.
So, why don't you just believe in your Judaism and leave Christianity out of your believe?

What is righteousness?
Did the thief @ Luke 23 go to God's Kingdom?

Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Today implies the day he was crucified.
That was the day paradise or heaven or God's kingdom came.
But you jw failed to believe it

Was he righteous before that day? undecided
No

As a matter of fact no one is righteous, so Jesus couldn't possibly take him to paradise because he was righteous

So what you are saying is that you can go on sinning, as long as you believe in Christ.
No!

May be you should consider the why first and consider them separately without mixing the truth, because the truth cannot contradict itself

1.Why do we believe in Christ?
2. Why should we stop committing sin?

For the number 1 question, John 3:16 explains the why. It says so that we should not perish but have everlasting life.
For the number 2 question, so that we will live long in this life and be happy.
For instance, if we kill, we will be killed too.
If we lie, we will loose people trust. etc

Number 1 has absolutely nothing to do with number 2

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith(FAITH IN CHRIST) without the deeds of the law.

Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

The question you should ask yourself is why are the Ibos now suddenly so desperate for power?
I don't get what you are saying. Desperate for power like how?

All of them are in unison on this agenda just as they also bound together in their expansionst quest aka Biafra .
No!
You are wrong on this, don't generalize.

Yes, it is true that many of them are still influenced by Nnamdi kanu and ipob to believe in cessationism, but most of the educated igbos that i know, especially the ones living here in the west, do believe in Nigeria

The Ibo man has kept telling you that for true reconciliation from the civil war they must be given power.
That is the truth, as much they they are one the 3 major tribes.
I don't think this is desperation.
It is their right, just like the minority tribes like ijaw, Ndoma, Urhobo, Efik, Tiv, itsekiri, tiv, are also entitled to the presidency by right, not just the Hausa and Yoruba only

These are a people who refuse any wrongdoing
what do you mean by wrong doing?
Which tribe in Nigeria did not do wrong?

If you want to talk about cessationism as wrong doing Sunday Iboho is there o, not just only Nnamdi kanu.
As a matter of fact, there are hundreds of bandits in the north who are fighting the state causing insecurity, is that one not wrong doing too?

and deny vehmently in the face of raw evidence the atrocities they committed on minority people .
hmmm!
I bow for you o grin

You will expect they will do the honourable thing and apologise sincerely to Nigerians , the victims of their senseless coup and the hundreds of communities in the SS that their Biafra war criminals sacked during the war
We are talking about reconciliation and a new Nigeria all inclusive you still talking about the past requesting apology from people who were not there during the civil and the coup you are talking about, are you that dumb? grin

No. Instead they went to town crying victim and blaming everyone else.[/,quote]Blame everyone else of what?
Were you there during the civil war or coup?
Why then will anyone blame you?

And now they have come to demand from you the power to rule you and you are foolishly considering their useless demands ?

I will advice you, go back to cotonou where you came from. You are trying to bring disunty among the tribes here

Nigeria does not owe the Ibo man anything more than Nigeria owes any other nationality.

Is it the right of any nationality or tribe to rule Nigeria ?

Did the Ibos not have the earliest opportunity via both civilian democracy and later their Ibo quasi military dictatorship that messed things up ?

You are championing Ibo right to power as if there is a line of succession to power based on ethnicity. If so, what of the Efik, the Igala, the Binis, the Jukums and other 360 ethnicities in Nigeria ? Are they lesser than the Ibo in Nigeria that the Ibo man has to cut in line ?

What even made you assume that power must follow an ethnic train ?

Are we not practicing democracy ?

You are here using ethnicity to demand power rotation to Ibos and when others vote their own, you gasslight them as tribalists ?

You no get one kobo sense for head.

Nigerians do not owe the Ibo man anything.

Virtually every national in Nigeria moved on after the war.

Ibos began resettling across Nigeria and began to pick up their lives without any form of discrimination that is until Nnamd Kanu came out of the woodwork and began revisiting and twisting the events leading to the war and reinforcing the Ibo victim mentality. It did not just stop at that, but IPOB went to town castigating every other Nigerian national and their political figures at that time as enemies and haters of Ibos. Kanu did all these with glowing support from among the Ibos who began to hate their fellow Nigerians

When Nigerians began countering their lies, they recoiled back to their shells with this same argument you are making.

Also, all the foolishness of the early Zikists that saw to the coup of Jan 15 and later the war are being championed by the Ibos of today. They have come to see their actions leading to the war as noble whereas this isn't the case.

If then they are bound by their stupidity to repeat the foolishness of their grandparents based on revisionist lies echoed by the likes of IPOB and other fictional author characters like Achebe and Chiamanda, it is only natural that the same strong negative emotions that they aroused from their past foolish actions will naturally recieve the reciprocal hate they are sowing amongst their people.

Take for example IPOB's ambition to annex the same SS under their Biafra which virtually every Ibo has now come to see as theirs to conquer and occupy. This was what lead to Ojukwu declaring Biafra after Gowon carved the minority peoples out of the old eastern region. Ojukwu will drag the SS people into his Biafra without consultation and begin a slow genocide of the people using the fog of war. Ojukwu will later extend his madness to the neutral Midwest and repeat his pogrom on the hapless civilians while claiming he was "liberating" them from the Hausa Fulani jihadists. Did Ojukwu consult any one in the SS to join his Biafra ? No. Same thing is happening with Kanu and his IPOB who without any regard to the people of the SS has dragged them into his Nu-Biafra. In a live Radio Biafra rant sometime in 2022 during the EndSars riots, same Kanu had the audacity to declare that "all SS is our land and anyone that opposes us will be killed". By "our" he meant him and his Ibo people and by "anyone who opposes us" he meant even the SS people .

So if you are just waking up from under the rock , better shut up and listen to those who know these people better than the back of their hands
Anyway, cessationism are usually products of long term injustice perpetrated by the ruling class to the cessationist group, it happens world-wide.
We have 3 major tribes here
Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo.

For over 60 years now, the Igbos have been excluded from producing a president from their region that's why you see cessationists like Nnamdi Kanu and Ipob, though their activities are not constitutional.
For this reason, it is expedient for the ruling class to map out a comprehensive power rotation plan which is inclusive of the Igbo region that must be followed by all political parties.
I think this isn't difficult to do if we truly want a one nation that is free of political cessationism

If be so, what is the basis of her judgement to people who don't know the commandments because they were not thought?

Even today, God allows women to prophesy in church under certain conditions. Prophesying is a different ministry from teaching or pastoring. Hope this helps.

Dr. Abel Damina is indeed both smart and intelligent, as you noted. However, unlike some others, he doesn't claim to receive direct messages from God. Instead, he emphasizes that God's words have already been clearly communicated through the Bible.
As a matter of fact, anyone who by-pass the bible to to say anything contrary, has not heard from God.
What you hear from God must correlate with what the bible says.

I believe that, what will make a pastor by-pass bible is because the message he claims to hear from God which he delivers to his church members is exactly what they want to hear to console themselves. Not necessarily what the bible want them to know.

People just want to hear that they can perform certain rituals like tithing all to get money from God in return.
But it doesn't work that way

I'm trying to understand: is it the same God who instructed Dr. Abel Damina that tithing is not mandatory,
what I see about Dr Abel Damina, he is an intelligent man.

And obviously from the look of things, it is more convenient for God to use intelligent people than less intelligent people.
Example : Because Paul was more intelligent than Peter, he did greater things than Peter inspite that Peter met Jesus Christ one on one and Paul didn't

who also told Pastor Adeboye that tithing is essential?
He read it from the old testament but refuses to see that it does not apply anymore in the new testament. This is what Abel Damina was intelligent enough to detect

How can two respected pastors have such differing views on this topic, both claiming guidance from God?
in the real sense, the two cannot be guidance from God at the same time.
It's either one is right and the other is wrong or vice versa

Yes sir. She cannot teach them according to God's word and design. Can she guide them by expounding the scriptures to them? Yes she can. Priscilla and her husband did same to Apollos. And the Holy Spirit took over and turned Apollos into one of the greatest men of God in Paul's time that some misguided believers started trying to make a sect out of him.
Can she become their teacher/pastor? No sir. God is not an author of confusion. If there are men like that ready to learn the scriptures, God would readily grant them enough grace to fill up those leadership roles that he has ordained for the males who represent the head of mankind.

There is an order of things already which is typical of God, to assign positions to us differently. Even in the body of Christ, we are not all one member but many members. And all the members are equal, moreso members that seem insignificant are to be esteemed highly. Submission and quietness are highly priced qualities in this kingdom.

This passage by Paul too isn't just referring to husband-wife relationship though it includes it.
1 Timothy 2:11-14 New International Version (NIV)

A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

They won't lol. Anyone who is hungry for these things never lacks understanding. God might choose the woman to open their eyes but he won't let the woman become their teacher or pastor. He cannot contradict himself.

Yes I've heard of Deborah. Did her role contradict what I've stressed?

How do we verify divine communication? If a claim that "God told me" is only valid when the information is "right," then there must be an agreed-upon standard or authority to determine what God would or would not say. But who or what has the authority to verify God's words? Is it religious leaders, sacred texts, or personal intuition?
If the information from the pastor for example is God said you should give to the church because the church preach the gospel, then you can verify from the bible where people give to the church in order to propagate the gospel.
You can also chose not to verify anything and give by your personal intuition and reasoning without a religious leader telling you anything, knowing that preaching the gospel is good.
But where the information is saying pay tithe.
Then you need to ask yourself, what is tithe?
How is tithe different from giving?
You can verify from your bible whether tithe was supported in Christianity or whether the pastor is trying to use your head to make money

Insightful smiley though I still believe women shouldn't be leaders of men or exercise authirity over them because of how God has created both genders and assigned them natural offices even before Moses.

It's so clear from the scriptures that God has not called us to usurp authority over men. Can we prophesy in church? yes we can with our heads covered portraying submission to authority. Can we teach in church? yes we can but we are to teach younger or immature women. This is one passage that settled it for me.
1. In a country where you have less Christians, what if in a church of 10 people, one of them is a woman who knows more about scriptures than the remaining 9 who are men, and the men agreed that they want to learn from her, so she cannot teach them?

If you think she cannot teach them can you give a reasonable explanation for that?
Because, a reasonable explanation for her to teach them is that, the men should not remain in ignorance
2. You have heard of Deborah in the old testament, what was her role to the isrealites?
