Luckily for me,one day i came across a post from facebook blogger who posts about students visa journey, contacted him,so he directed me to Nairaland and from there i joined many groups.Joining NL opened my eyes to somany things and that was when I realised that i literally went for my first interview without having the knowledge of how it works.I applied to only one school which gave me admission, never knew one can apply to more than 2schools .It was when i defered my admission that I applied to two more schools.

Yes, u’re always good to go, school always have room for international students who would be come to school and resume late because of the challenges associated with getting a visa appointments. Of course, always try to update the school concerning these issues.

I checked the box for B1/B2 visa without interview on the website, answered the next set of questions, inputted the MRV receipt info, and when the list of available dates was shown to me, I selected a date that worked for her.

Ok, thanks.

Hi everyone,
I apologize in advance because I imagine this question may have already been asked and answered but I couldn’t find a response on previous pages, hence my question.
My mum has her IW appointment on April 14, 2022 in Abuja. However, I would like to know if she has to submit her documents at the US Embassy or DHL office in Abuja. The appointment letter states that her appointment is at the US Embassy on Diplomatic Drive but the last paragraph of the letter also states “The DHL document collection office locations shown below is only authorized to accept and deliver your documents to the Embassy/Consulate General...”. Because of this, I am not sure where she should submit her documents. For folks who have done their IW in Lagos or Abuja, did you submit your docs at the Embassy or DHL office? Thanks in advance!

He used the i 130 for family based petition. I did my masters degree in the US and I have been getting my visa renewed since I came back in 2006. For your mom, the petiton supposed3 to take 6 months but for the backlog and covid....but she can apply for a visiting visa while waiting for her petition to be approved. That is what I have been doing....A pendipetition does not prevent getting a visiting visa...

Ok, thanks for your response and clarification.

Good morning house, thanks everyone for all the insights. I got my B1/B2 renewed last week and thankfully the green card petition my brother did for me 8 years ago was approved on Tuesday and has been sent to DOS for further processing. Please who has an idea of the duration of the process at NVC? Secondly, I am planning a trip in may, what is the covid requirment? Is it still negative PCR test or vaccination? Thanks again for a prompt response

Congrats to you, but please, do u have an how did your brother went about the green card petition and how long have u traveled to the US before your brother made the petition?

My eldest brother has applied and been trying get my Mum’s own residency done but no response yet from the US Embassy/Consulate and that made him not to also reapply to renew her B1/B2 Visa via the interview waiver(IW) along with mine even though I’m yet to get an available data since I reapplied more than a month ago.

That is because there are no available dates at that exact moment.

Please don't log in to check more than 3 times in a day. Else, your account can be blocked for up to 72 hours.

Yes, I have had that experience before 2/3 week ago. I just had to wait for 3 a week.

Join the Telegram group for your location (Lagos or Abuja). Be sure to do your quota by following the rules.

It is the easiest way to get IW dates by yourself.

Please read up the last few pages to get the links. Copy and paste into your browser and open with Telegram.

All the best!

Alright, thanks very much.

@Payati & Klebsiella

Go back to the usatraveldocs website, select book an appointment, login and answer the interview waiver questions regarding when your visa expired, whether you are applying for the same category and from the same location, etc. After answering those questions, the system will determine if you qualify for the IW and ask you to accept it then proceed. It won't take you to where you are supposed to choose a date on the calender. Log out and start all over from the website, if possible, clear your browser history and cache.

Ok, I already tried checking just now but it keeps showing the same thing. Of course I often clear my browser history and cache before I login to check.

Good day everyone...

Please, I reapplied for a US B1/B2 visa and for the IW appointment since 22nd February, 2022 immediately after I fill out and submitted the DS-160 form but since then it keeps telling me that “There’s no appointment available.”

How do I get an appointment and interview waiver(IW) as my B1/B2 visa expired in August 2020. Please, someone help a brother here. Thank you!
