Alternative facts means that no one actually took count of EVERYONE that came to the innaugration. Not even the media knows the figure. The simple reason the media used FAKE picture for their lie rather than hard verifiable numbers. But I guess Trump haters are not sensible enough to comprehend that basic staunt.

Fact: Go and check the number of viewers that watched the innaugration compared to that of Obama's second term. That's the FACT, not some fake pictures.

Aigbofa:

One thing is common with Trump and a lot of his supporters; they are mostly fantasists and conspiracy theorists. Facts doesn't mean anything to them. Imagine a presidential aide saying someone was presenting an "alternative fact" what the hell is alternative fact?
It is called a lie in plain English.
That is what you voted for and that is what you will most likely get for the next four years.
How can you manipulate pictures that were taken long before anyone knew Trump will run for office? For what purpose?
Are you presenting "alternative facts" as well?
Politics / Re: Facebook User Blasts Nigerian Politicians After Trump Meets 20% Of Promises by pchukwudi: 2:39pm On Jan 24, 2017
It was the media that's lying to you about the attendance. Go check the facts, not the silly pictures that were taken and manipulated even before the innaugration proper.

Aigbofa:

The campaign is over my friend. Your "patriotic " and capitalistic president started his presidency by brazenly lying about the size of the crowd at his inauguration, this is just a token of what is to come. Hold on tight.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Donald Trump Revokes U.S Pro-Abortion Law by pchukwudi: 2:27pm On Jan 24, 2017
Bros, you know better than this back and forth.

USA: 25 in 1000 ( inspite of the easy access to MASSIVE healtcare and contraception), this usually translates to:

In the USA, where nearly half of pregnancies are unintended and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion [1] , there are over 3,000 abortions per day. Twenty-two percent of all pregnancies in the USA (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion. [2]

http://www.worldometers.info/abortions/

No wonder the CDC has not released any new data on abortion rate since 2013.

Now compare that to the UNVERIFIABLE claim (due to unavailability of data), of 37 in 1000 for the developing coutries (WITHOUT good healthcare and contraception).

Fact: Criminalize abortion, enforce the law, and provide adequate healrhcare facilities and effective contraception, and you will see abortion rate crash like a pack of sand.

Igboid:

Yet you failed to mention the part, where it was stated that Abortion rate had declined in developed countries from to 25 in 1000, ie less than those of the developing country that remained static at 37 in 1000, so obviously, legalizing abortion doesn't increase abortion rate, it only decreases maternal mortality rate, by enabling the mothers to have access to quality abortion health care.

See this quote too:
“The obvious interpretation is that criminalising abortion does not prevent it, but rather drives women to seek illegal services or methods.”

Diana Greene Foster, University of California
Foreign Affairs / Re: Donald Trump Revokes U.S Pro-Abortion Law by pchukwudi: 2:01pm On Jan 24, 2017
Sorry, that study is not credible because it was not an idependent study but a stuff sponsored by pro-right/choice affiliate group. But even if we decide to accept it as credible it still won't fly.

Here's a quote from the report:

The evidence indicates that access to good healthcare and modern contraception are the most important factors in reducing abortion rates, says Gilda Sedgh, the study’s lead author and a researcher at the Guttmacher Institute, a US organisation that aims to advance sexual and reproductive rights.

Two things at stake here.

1. Acess to better healthcare and contraceptives (NOT legalization of abortion) reduce the rate of abortion in the developed countries.

2. Criminalization of abortion kept the rate of abortion static (DID NOT INCREASE IT) in the developing countries where there is little or no access to good healrhcare and enough education /awareness on contraception.

So can you give me a better source.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Donald Trump Revokes U.S Pro-Abortion Law by pchukwudi: 1:44pm On Jan 24, 2017
Can you back this up with some verifiable credible stats? Or is it just what you think?

Igboid:

Criminalizing abortion does not stop abortion, it only increases criminal abortion rates, usually performed by quacks, that end up not just killing the baby, but killing the mother or predisposing her to infertility in the future.

Abortion is criminalized in Nigeria, yet the rate of criminal abortion and it's attendant complications is high in Nigeria, and it's the women, not the hypocritical men that bear the blunt of criminal abortion.
You are not saving any life by criminalizing abortion, you are only risking the life of the mother.

Go and read up first.

Nig4Greatness:
......bring it on since you know more about america and world politics...
All these trash you wrote above, trump has always been part of them..the establishment,so he can't come out to claim saint as if he was not part of the problems..ask yourself why he refused to declare his tax returns...because he has been amassing wealth unto himself like his friends,go and check his cabinet nominees, they are bunch of people who have reaped the country dry using those middle working class workers as their ladder..make no mistakes about it,he's all talk and nothing would be done eventually..he will eventually leave america in a worst situation that he met it.
Obama used more of executive order to achieve some of his policies since the Republican controlled congress was bent on frustrating his government, go and ask anybody in America today, the guy did his best,it's now left for trump to outperform his achievements.like I said, time will tell.remember republicans are in the habit of runing america economy down whenever they are in power and Democrats will come and clean up their mess like what Obama did when he came into office in 2009.trump only have to appoint one judge and we shall see how the supreme judges will all dance to his tunes, for your information, america is not run like that.
come next year, there will be mid term election and I hope democrats can take control of the Congress so they can frustrate all his programs as they did obama.
like I said, the world is watching....America is great not because of one person but because of strong institutions.let him repeal Obamacare first and let's see his replacement, then we can begin to talk if he's going to be a blessing to America and the entire world or a curse.
Politics / Re: Facebook User Blasts Nigerian Politicians After Trump Meets 20% Of Promises by pchukwudi: 10:36am On Jan 24, 2017
Sorry.

The OP seems more educated than you.

The US did not get to where it was (pre/post-WW2) by those your left wing perversive policies. Relying majorly on finance (credit, borrowing, global treasury) at the expense of local mass-productivity has placed the US economy on a time bomb for decades now. Folks now spend more than they earn, and borrow more than they can afford - all because the fed can print USD for the world.

Trump knows this trend and is hopefully bent on putting a final fullstop to it.

And talking about the use of executive orders, that was Obama's stock in trade. But thank God the conservatives are also in control of the congress and would apoint the judges too.

So Trump's executive orders will soon be validated by congress and the judiciary.

Plus, the world has changed. That's why the British and Isreali PMs are warming up to Trump. Unfortunately you guys don't get it. But may be, you'd wake up to reality when the movement sweeps the EU (Germany, Netherland, France, Italy) in the coming months.

Trump has a better view of the future. He is super pragmatic. Unlike Obama.

Nig4Greatness:
This guy is one of the typical blind followers of Trump..semi illiterates with high school diploma.Mere looking at his picture self says a lot of his intellectual capabilities..now I think he needs some lesson on governance.

TPP is just a proposal that never made it to Congress talk less of signing into law and even OBAMA didn't pushed the law and Nafta can't be veto by mere executive order without congress approval,he only said he will renegotiate not cancelled.so where is the 20% of his campaign promises he has fulfilled??..on abortion laws ,hiring freeze and all others,he's trying to use executive orders to achieve his shortsightedness policies which can be undone also by an executive orders from his successor.these illiterates should bother themselves about the long impacts his populist policies will have on the economy in near future and these half educated working class shouldn't just believe america belong to them only.

They will soon realise trump can't perform any miracle because USA is built on strong institutions and not a one man show.the whole world is watching.

We are willing to dig into the trenches to protect and defend what is our right. If they are stubborn and indifferent to our position, we are capable and willing to help them pull down the house. It is either they give us what belongs to us and respect our choice or they will trigger the final burial and the entombment of PDP”

"Babatope" or whatever the name, Sir, if I were to be a member of PDP I would make sure you (and your ilks) are thoroughly sent away from the party for habouring such a dark thought.

Funny country.

The victims, mostly Muslims, have not stated the terms of compensation. But in Islam compensation for manslaughter is paid to the tune of 100 camels or its equivalent, which could be about N40 million person.

Should the victims insist on payment by Islamic standard, which is sometimes used in parts of Northern Nigeria, the federal could pay as much as N9.5 billion compensation.

And the gullible masses won't even notice the subtle manouvering. But compensation for one will be compensation for all, no matter how long it takes.

You simply still have a lot to learn about your history and how the world around you works.

You may share your opinion though within your inner circle.

But don't come to nairaland and create a thread to pose as if you knew all sides of what you are saying. Your nairaland public opinion at this level is doing more harm than good.

You were on the right path until you made the following statement:

omofunaab:

... countries speak in support of a Palestinian state, why can't they also speak in support of biafra at the UN?

First palestine has a history of violence and extremism.

Second, the seeming backing of palestine in the UN is rooted in anti-jewish sentiment and the coallition of islamic states (about 56 countries) and there sympathizers (like the current nigeria government). This situation recently forced politically correct obama to look the other way in a hypocritical silence. But Trump's administration is likely going to take this up.

A popular conservative American-author had just proposed that Trump should cut US donations to the UN and fornulate a new alliance if UN refuses to aid the Biafran exit.

I also saw another conservative woman promise on Twitter to keep the Biafran exit "on the front burnner".

The movement is working. Remeber, Kanu said it's either Biafra or death. And it's clear that this slogan is resonating with the youths. So taking IPOB for granted is actually a bad move.

Peacful referendum, regardless of method of the agitation, is one smart thing the government should do.

Stop talking like an irrational kid.

It has been made clear on this thread severally that what we need is referendum.

The argument now is how do we get that referendum?

One of you said that fed cannot give us referendum because it is not mentioned in the constitution. So the constitution will have to be mended.

But how do you mend the constitution when the beneficiaries of the unjust system are in the majority?

How do you mend the constitution when the north is given more legislative representation than the south?

How do you amend the constitution when your people in the south-west will rather fight for one nigeria?

Thing is, civil disobidience is an option too.

So anything that pushes the exit refrendum to the consciousness of all Nigerians is welcome. It does not matter if the movement is driven by intellectuals or jobless retards, as long as the movement is gaining visible momentun. Those who mock it today will change their mind tomorrow if they like. The most important thing is to be on the move consistently.

I actually read Thereasa May where she said that Britain does not have a WRITTEN costitution. And that's validated by the following quote.

Unlike most modern states, Britain does not have a codified constitution but an unwritten one formed of Acts of Parliament, court judgments and conventions. Professor Robert Blackburn explains this system, including Magna Carta's place within it, and asks whether the UK should now have a written constitution.

https://www.bl.uk/magna-carta/articles/britains-unwritten-constitution

BudeYahooCom:

Sorry to say but you sound like an intellectual fraud. You'll sound more credible if you show us the part of British consistution (which the Nigerian constitution is largely modelled after) that mentioned the referendum, which allow Britons to undertake Brexit for UN.

For the records, I have read the Pdf format of British constitution, nowhere was referendum ever mentioned. Their law (like nigeria's) is silent about it, so it not illegal to have referendum like your darling colonial masters did.
