Nairaland / General / Re: Nigerians Are Good In Creating Problems And Later Blame The Government. by pelmart: 12:01am On Sep 12, 2023
MSN1:
Three days ago, a tiler in my neighbourhood was using someone's bike to convey tiles to a site.
He unfortunately met more than he bargained for on his way...

A construction company's truck hit him seriously on the road, this led to the total destruction of the bike and all he was carrying coupled with a lot of blemishes on the truck But he was lucky enough to have minor injuries and deep cut on his leg.

Though, no one was there to tell who was at fault but these were the after findings:

1. The Truck driver was coming from a sharp bend corner where he went to sell Diesel illegally from the truck.
2. The driver up till now ran and abandoned the truck, knowing the consequences of his illegal actions.
3. The Company is currently taking care of the tiler and the cost of fixing the spoilt truck (which is needed for urgent work).
4. They promised to get the owner, A BRAND NEW BIKE.

-------MY POINTS---------
As we keep complaining and blaming the govt. everyday, we fail to analyse and caution ourselves, Look at how this accident has affected the life of a hustler and the cost it will take the Company to solve this issue. This would cost more than 2million.
What if the guy had died?
ALL IN THE QUEST TO SELL DIESEL FROM A TRUCK U OUGHT TO BE ON DUTY WITH.

One BAD GOOD thing about karma is that; HE COMES WHEN WE LEAST EXPECTED!

No single person on Earth is perfect but let's always know that;
1. Our collective actions in life goes a long way to change a lot of things in d society and
2. If we change our mindset and actions positively, we have All collectively join forces to change the Government and the Society.

Alhamdulilah.

The bike no get insurance neither the truck.

This is the problem, with little cover, this unfortunate financial cost will be mitigated.

We keep behaving as if we are in different world.

Earthquake just happened in Morocco, Turkey and other disasters but all those properties are being rebuilt with little costs because of INSURANCE.

Lol. If you like, give black Africans all the money in the US federal reserve, they would return to beg for loans after a few years. Rest assured that all that wealth would be squandered and looted in record time.

The British colonized Canada, USA, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Why is is only blacks that are still crying about colonization several decades after independence?

Even INDIA, MALAYSIA WERE COLONIZED AS WELL but while Africa different?

a very realistic dream and easy to implement only if you have the balls as president. The real pipe dream is a 100k minimum wage. Just how do you intend to do that when you've never talked about how to improve revenue and even dodged the subsidy removal? How just how? When your track record showed you improved 400 million to 600 million in 8 years, and so you want to handle Nigeria?

Please Note that the first 25% is conditional on loss of Job.

I plead, don't fall victim to scam because as is it in Pension Reform Act 2014, NO ONE CAN ACCESS ONE'S PENSION FUND

Career / Re: Can Someone Access Their Pension Funds Before Official Retirement Age by pelmart: 7:27pm On Oct 18, 2021
What is applicable is at age 50 according to Pension Reform Act 2014.
After the first 25%, until age 50.

On the possibility, that is very interesting because the so called PFAs are not willing to release one Kobo sef. That is the truth as an Expert in the field.

kinglee007:
Hello Guys and gurus in the house.

Please someone dearly needs your financial advice.
My friend Joe (not real name) resigned early from his working place in 2019 and before the resignation, he had a pension plan with a Pension Company (name withheld). With the little he got from his former working place, he applied to retrieve his pension from the pension company but was told that he could only access 25% of the pensions for now.

The remaining funds, according to what he said they told him, can only be accessed when he clocks 50. That's more than a decade plus from the time of his resignation.

The funny thing about the whole ish is that, within the period he resigned, some older staffs(who were not up to 50 years in age) also resigned and had the same pension plan with him. They were also told the same thing about the 25% thing. Joe, called me up about a month ago and told me he and one of his old colleague that resigned the same time with him met at an event and they tried to catch up on how they've been fairing after resigning.

The discussion led to the friend laughing at Joe (in a mocking way), telling him that HE HAS GOTTEN FULL ACCESS TO THE REMAINING FUNDS IN HIS PENSION ACCOUNT. This guy is like a year or two older than Joe.

When Joe asked him how, he said he can't tell him how but he should understand that this is Nigeria. Joe has been begging this guy ever since to tell him not until yesterday that he sent a number to him via text telling him to call the number and tell the lady that he is from Joe's friend. He said the lady will link him up.

So guys and gurus in the house, I decided to throw this question here because I know most pension funds are handled by PENCOM and if it's still the same PENCOM I know, that rule of 50 years still stands.

So guys, please is it possible for someone to really have access to all his pension funds before he or she clocks 50? Sorry for the errors you might have encountered while reading and also the long post. Will appreciate if a response can be gotten as soon as possible. Thanks

Yes affecting me now too. Yet to be resolved

WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook have all gone down in a major outage.

The three apps – which are all owned by Facebook, and run on shared infrastructure – all completely stopped working shortly before 5pm. Other products that are part of the same family of apps, such as Facebook Workplace, also stopped working.

How is this affecting you?

For me I have lost over N15k in the last 50minutes and my online store
