Culture / Re: Why I Am Not A Feminist. by Peritus(m): 3:46pm On Jul 06, 2016 |
Nice one. The problem with some women is that they blame men for their own weaknesses and inability to go for their right. This is why you hear more about affirmative action than a level playground. In Nigeria for instance, apart from some phallocentric cultures with some repugnant practices (most of which are defunct), women are more favoured and protected socially and under our laws. |
Culture / Re: Supreme Court Upholds Right Of Female Child To Inherit Properties In Igboland by Peritus(m): 3:02pm On Jul 06, 2016 |
This judgment is lacking in content and depth. It failed to address the issue as to whether a married woman is entitled to her father's landed property or family property. If yes, then it's an aberration as it means that a lady married to a man in Delta State will own a land in her father's compound which automatically makes it her husband's. |

'Akata' is an unpopular slang in Nigeria, and sometimes used in reference to an older spinster ( retired girls) in the east. On the flip side, Nigerians dont really give a hoot on how different u look or speak. We ain't homogeneous in any form so we are used to people's complexities. What happened to speaking plain English instead, or you think we dont understand or speak it in a social sphere. If you try too hard, you may end up giving guys like me cause to laugh. 1 Like |

t2luv1:Nah. The sector is specially regulated. This is because it deals more on depositors' funds than shareholders' contribution: trust is primary. CBN is empowered to do so under Banks and other Financial Institutions Act. Unlike other corporate bodies, CBN regulates even the internal affairs of the banks to a good extent. For instance, banks (including microfinance bank and merchant banks) cannot sack or appoint their directors, management staff or external auditors without CBN approval. 2 Likes |

shaybebaby:My sister, it is not lack of humanity, blame it on our laws. Such is not called rape but assault. As a lawyer, i regret to say that legally a man is not capable of being rapped. But we all know it can happen anally. Such can come under sodomy or assault, but not rape. A woman is not capable of committing rape, but in actual sense, women do. Pls relax ur nerves. 1 Like |

shaybebaby:I beg to say that you are very wrong. Generally, a man is not capable of raping the wife under the law, absence of consent notwithstanding. Again, a boy/man is not capable of being raped under the law. A woman is not capable of committing rape under the law. A child of under 7 yrs is not capable of committing rape under the law. All these are indecent assault. Until our penal code and criminal code is repealed, the above, unfortunately, remains the law. |
Family / Re: When A Man Forces His Wife For Sex, Is It A Rape? by Peritus(m): 2:01pm On Jun 24, 2016 |
Our laws doesnt have anything like rape between married couples. It is called an assault. Legally, there is no such thing like rape btn married couples, same way a man/boy cannot be raped, even when forcefully penetrated anally. This is unfortunate the position of the law. *A man is not capable of being raped. *A woman cannot rape. *Husband cannot rape his wife. All the above can come under indecent assault. This is the difference btwn what is, and what ought to be. |
Religion / Re: 6 Ways You Can Avoid Fornication by Peritus(m): 7:01pm On Jun 12, 2016 |
On point. Avoid all circumstances that may lead to it. Never allow devil you a trick you by telling you that you can hold yourself. Be a positive thinker; sin of fornication always happens in the mind before the act. Sometimes, days before the act. Don't keep a girlfriend (within the meaning we ascribe to it), but you can have females as your friends. |

Please CharlyG1, I wanna ask regarding your previous post; is it possible for one to be a false prophet without knowing he is false, or rather, believing he isn't? That is, operating in error upon a firm conviction of being right. Secondly, I noticed recently that I've been getting revelations of death but unable to stop them. One of the revelations was about two persons dying in my family. They were described as "coffin and casket" in which "one is heavier than the other" (one is the head of the family and the other his nephew). The head got his healing miraculously (I shared the testimony) the other died four days ago. Another case was about three persons dying by accident beside me, while I was just looking, unable to help. It happened in my office last month (via fire mishap) of which I was there watching them all fall from the second floor but was unable to help. Three died. Please what could be the reason I couldn't stop these from happening? This worries me a lot. Could it mean that God is somehow angry with me? |

I saw an apple tree (agbalumo/udara) by the road side and picked two apples under it, but one of the apples was partly spoilt while one was very good. I then discovered that two snakes were actually crawling at that particular spot where I picked the apples. As I tried leaving, I found out that one of the snakes had started chasing me. I ran to a point where i discovered that I could command the snake to die (somehow I discovered also that it was a dream). I commanded it to die in Jesus name and it halted and started squeezing itself, then i woke. Please can anybody good in dream interpretation help me. |

Religion / Re: Paul Christ Vs Jesus Christ by Peritus(m): 6:14pm On May 29, 2016 |
1. Teachings of grace never encourage sin, but that our worthiness is not because of our works (just like the Pharisees believe). 2. Do you really read the gospels? Haven't you seen several places Christ disobeyed the law, and in one occasion he maintained that he was guiltless and the Lord of Sabbath? We are no longer under the law. The law has finished it's work. Christ is the fulfilment of it. 3. It's either you don't know the meaning of grace and faith, or you are just a confused fellow. Christianity is rooted on faith. Salvation is for those who believe. Abraham was called righteous not because he kept the law, but because he believed and trusted God. Did Moses die a righteous man? Do you know what saved him? God says, I will have mercy on those whom I will have mercy on. 4. The epistles you despise critically disproves sin, making it clear that if you walk in sin, you walk in darkness. 5. Christ says that if our righteousness does not exceed that of the Pharisees, we won't make heaven. The pharisees are know for keeping the law, fleshly. I pray you be filled with the knowledge of His will, in wisdom and spiritual understanding. Col 1:9. |

One's identity is not His physical looks. You may engraft all parts of your body but not your spirit. Every other animal has freewill, but only man has His Spirit. We are spirits occupying and making use of a house called body. |
Religion / Re: Worship Of Mary And The Use Of Images In The Catholic Church by Peritus(m): 11:13am On May 29, 2016 |
As a Christian and one who is committed to the propagation of truth , I must register here that the major problem with Christianity is the effort of many to beat some Bible teachings to the extreme, or add their own human doctrines to fill their self observed lacuna, or interpret the Bible as per what should be and not what it really is. This is common with a number of denominations and teachers/pastors/priests in many denominations. However, any little shift from the biblical demands irrespective of our human rationalization is a spiritual error. Accept it or not, God is very emphatic on the way He wants to be worshipped, both in the time of old (old covenant) and under the new covenant. Whether Catholic worship Mary or not is not more an issue. I can't condemn anybody (since I know the power of grace) but biblical truth I must always unmask. 1. Yes, God abhors the use of images for the purpose of worship, and bowing to them. Unless & except expressly commanded, there is no exception to this, albeit the purpose we attach (to honour, for remembrance etc). He knows the heart of man, and that man always looks for something physical to offer allegiance to. That is why He doesn't manifest through one particular medium, so that people won't start worshipping that medium, thinking that in it is God. Remember that the bronze serpent was destroyed by Hezekiah when people started worshipping it. The time has come when we have to worship Him as he truly is. We worship in truth and in spirit. We need no mountain nor Temple nor sculpted image nor any material article. He has shed His Spirit on us to actualize the new covenant consummated by Christ. 2. We have only one mediator, Christ. However, we have a helper who resides within us always. He was sent to us to teach us, guide us, help us and to pray/intercede to/with the father as we know not what to pray for. He is the Holy Spirit. We can only pray to the father through Christ alone. The Holy Spirit is there to help us in areas of infirmities and weaknesses. No other person, the saints and angels alike, can do this. Anything outside this is a spiritual tangent and is harmful. Our problem is that because of our human reasoning, we feel Christ is like an emperor that we need his servants, mother or wife to penetrate. No! Actually, Christ is the servant. He was brought down that we may be elevated. He was made sin that we be set free. He beckons on us who are burden to come. He wants us to cast all our cares and concerns upon him. NB: Some of the doctrines of some churches are built upon one's personal and subjective ethereal visitation, apparition, vision etc which can neither be verified nor substantiated, but are not well rooted in the Word. Let us be careful, most doctrinal errors have elements of truth that makes them believable. Satan can disguise as the angel of light and can even deceive unwary elect of God. 1 Like 1 Share |
Religion / Re: Do You Consider Secular Music OK For Christians? by Peritus(m): 7:36pm On May 28, 2016 |
What we feed our minds is very important. Every song has where it is channelled. Personally, I okayed some secular songs I thought decent and good until I was seriously warned in a dream. Every song has what it edifies, the spirit or the flesh. Gal 5: 16-17 walk in the spirit and you will not obey the lusts of your flesh. What the flesh desires is opposed to what the spirit desires. If you are more concerned in feeding your spirit, some desires of your flesh will drop out. May the good Lord fill you with the knowledge of His will, in wisdom and spiritual understanding. NB: those who walk in flesh can never please God. Rmns 8: 8. But as many as led by the spirit are called sons of God. Rmns 8:14. |

Kenneth4u205:You started as if you want to encourage the practice of law, albeit saying that it saves not. If it's not sin to practice the old law, then tell me whether it is right to do so. If it's not right, then it's wrong. You know that Christ himself is the fulfilment of the law. He consummated and satisfied all requirements of the law. He came to ensure that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms. Luke 24:44. Christ has set us FREE from the law. Gal 5:1, From 8:2. Jeremiah 31:31 prophesied of a new covenant NOT based on the previous covenant that God had with their forefathers. John 4:23 in fulfilment of this prophecy established the NEW form of worship not according to the law. If the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need for a second covenant to replace it. Hebr 8:7. Is it right to go back to where you were set free from? What does one make of Christ who brought us salvation and grace to save us from the demands of law and it's practices if he goes back to the ministration of death. Those who depend on law to make them right are under curse Gal 3:10. The law has fully completed its mission. It has been fulfilled, finalised and consummated, no other fulfilment is required. |

2law: I really don't have profound knowledge about angels, but what raised my concern is that in one of your posts, you said that you asked the angels to harm a kid and they did. This to me portends negativity. Again, you said that your grandma has the gift, your mom has it too, and so, I wanna ask: is your grandma a true born again Christian? When do they usually appear...is it when you are spiritually blazing, or at any time, even when you're in sin? The fact that the gift appears hereditary matters a lot. Whether what you see is fallen angels or angels of God, only you can determine that if you want to, but know that angels of darkness can disguise as angels of light, and can even be deceptively helpful. Please dear, don't be too sure of anything until you get them tested. You have authority, use it. You can command them in the name of Jesus to reveal their nature and master, instead of waiting for their directives. Note that children of God receive messages from both God and Satan, it is the spirit of discernment and knowledge of God's Word that helps one to know the voice of God and the voice of error. Don't get irked when reproved (even when the person is wrong) rather, prove yourself/test the person's position with the Word instead. Pastor Kenneth Hagin admitted that he operated on erroneous doctrine for 15yrs, but that doesn't make him a false man of God. It simply shows that every believer ought to be teachable. God bless your soul. |

Just look around you and think. The weather, seasons, rain, plant growth, sun, stars, life etc couldn't have happened by chance. Consider this: every organ of your body has a distinct work. Your heart, your liver, kidney, veins, arteries, etc all work together as a perfect system. This couldn't have been a result of evolution. The world is too perfect to have just happened without a master planner. 2 Likes |
