Brethren, I need a little guide on this issue. Something happened yesterday that I saw myself reprimanding a frnd of something I was equally guilty of & never thought was wrong.
The friend said he has been putting a particular person in his prayers & as a sinner, he pray God to answer his humble prayer as a sinner. I answered that "it is wrong to always start prayer by saying that we are all sinners, quoting Rms 3:23, or assuming that one is always a sinner. The identity of "sinners" is what Christ by his grace stripped off from us. That he called us from the state of sinfulness to righteousness. That assuming oneself as yet a sinner, means taking back the stripped garment and thereby rendering worthless the work of grace in us. At any particular point in time when one examines himself and sees that his heart is pure and he is is in union with Christ, the person is by spiritual standard righteous. However, his righteousness is not his own making or by his strength lest he boasts of it, rather, it's by God's grace, and so, one has to assume the position grace places him, instead of going back to the place grace pulled him from, but shall not brag about being righteous."
The truth is that I start all my prayers by acknowledging that I am a sinner likewise many others, and now I am a bit confused. What i told the guy was me talking to me & it happens to me all the time. I just want to know the veracity of this position. This morning, my prayer was centered on healing and revitalization my spiritual man, because I discovered that my prayer life was getting weaker, my faith was weak too, my entire spiritual life was unhealthy. After the prayer, I bounced back...I reconnected.
As a matter of fact, anybody who is alert spiritually, surely will know when his spirit is sick. Sin disfigures our spirit; even thought of it does that. Finally, we should be careful of the materials we expose ourselves to. Some materials can leave your spirit and faith bruised.

I dont know whether it's a true repentance, but I know that one of the first things a repented soul does is to get rid of all false emotional attachments. Basically, all emotional attachments involving sex or lust is false, except plain friendship. This is different from courtship (wherein there should be no sex too). You cannot grow spiritually when there is a clog. Devil will definitely use it as ur weakness. To follow Christ truly is not easy, but it's worthwhile. So Op, this is a call for you to join the way to life.

Easter is not a countdown from Christmas. Christmas has a specific and static date in Julian Calendar, while Easter is calculated based on the calendar of the church. That is why Easter falls on different dates but not Christmas. I believe that Gregorian calendar is used for the calculation.

The MOG failed them. He even told them to disregard the MRI result, that it was untrue. He nearly killed my dad with his concoction, luckily, his body rejected it immediately. TESTIMONY
No so long ago, I posted here that I was traveling to see my father who was suddenly struck with stroke albeit not being a high bp patient nor hypertensive. I wanted to travel to the village also to pray there, so I sought for advice here. After being guided by some men&women of faith here, I decided to pray for him and anoint him, without going down to the village, which I did.
The truth is that it was revealed to me last year that he would die. I prayed and forgot it immediately. When the sickness started last month, I prayed against head surgery. Later when MRI scan was conducted, it was discovered that he had a tumour in his cerebellum which according the doctor MUST be surgically removed, lest my dad dies. We were warned to act quick to avert death, that he could only get worse. As at then, his speech was slurred, he could not move his limbs well, worst still, he was wetting himself in the night without knowing.
My spirit got so wounded but I didn't lose my faith. My dad started losing hope (because he was spiritually negative about surviving the surgery). He told me that he was old enough & wouldn't mind 'going' now. I told the giver of life that that I didn't care where the stuff came from, but it must leave his dwelling place.
I was shown again thru dream that he was already on his way...(though happily, but was limping) leaving a huge work for me while going even though I am the last born. I didn't get the right interpretation then, so i thought it was positive, i.e. that he has recovered & that the place of burial I saw was that of the enemy who planted the sickness (I was wrong). Against my protests, he was taken to a priest/Reverend who doubles as a traditional doctor also & whose power I don't know the source. My siblings showed us (I & my elder sis) that as the last two & the only children of the second wife, we held no power to influence decision in the family. My dad swayed to the side of the other children against the position of I & my sister. It was as if we had no place and shouldn't have cared (devil was trying to play his pranks). My dad's health got really bad immediately the medicine from the so called man of God was administered.
I fasted and prayed for days, after which my prayer turned into tnxgiving and later for crystallization of testimony... but no sign yet, though I knew the healing had taken place.
Last week, his voice cleared, he started moving his hands. This week, he started walking, chatting, joking, and happily professed that he has been healed. He went for checkup and the surprised doctor acknowledged that his recovery was "beyond my power". He asked him to go back home and come back for final checkup in a month time. I smiled because I knew what happened, but many didn't.
DEAR FATHER, thank you for ur works in our lives. I will surely follow you to where you will lead me. I won't run away like before. I know that your presence is the only thing that gives our life it's essence... never let ur spirit depart from your children.
I learnt that:
*Faith is not about praying and getting results immediately, but holding on even when it appears all hope is gone.
*We dnt have to be fooled by people's acclaimed natural powers. Devil has cloned almost everything, and he has seeds in the churches.
*My trust is not on the church or pastor, but God and his Spirit in me. The devil is on a mission to pollute the church, but Jesus has established the perfect mode of worship in John 4 vs 23.

Permit me to mention you. The truth is that secular song has always been a very strong instrument of the devil, no matter how less profane the Lyrics are. I had a revelation/strong warning on this around 2012. I was so much in love with secular songs of all genres. Then in my dream, I found myself together with my best frnd before the gate of hell singing and rapping one song (Safe) by M. I. We were shouting "na me dey right here" repeatedly, jumping up and throwing our hands in the air as if we were on a stage, while those in hell were beckoning on us to come in. The gate was like a burglary proof or protector. The inmates could only bring out their hands.
Unfortunately, we were not herald by the blazing fire as we sang on. The song in question was one of the songs I saw as "normal" songs, with "nice lyrics".
Every song glorifies something. You can't serve God without stripping off all counter forces (everything that glorifies the world instead, is a counter force against the spirit ).

No sir. They were mere invitees just like others. It has nothing to do with their family. Remember, this wedding took place in Cana (Galilee). There was no obligation on them to provide wine or take care of entertainments. Mary knew who Christ was, right from conception. Christ established the new covenant which completely changed the old way of worship. Christianity is a belief, pattern or spiritual institution and not a physical institution.

First, the wedding organizers did not ask her to intercede, instead she spoke to the son on her own and asked the stewards to do whatever the son says. This is because, she knew that only her son has the power to pass instructions. This is inline with what God said during transfiguration, "this is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased. LISTEN TO HIM". Christ has already passed the instructions on how to worship God in spirit and truth. All we have to do is "listen to him" without adding our own.

I keep saying this: people are so engulfed with what "church/pastor says" but have no time for what "God says". People are busy with doctrines and practices, but spend little or no time to know what God wants from them or how He wants to be served. We do not want to go against or question what church said, so we decide to turn a blind eye to God's clear instructions. Some of us read the Bible not to know God better, learn his ways and know the truth, but to find some distant pieces of evidence in support of our position and look up some weak defences too. The fact is that some practices were smuggled into the church by some adherents. Church has been greatly influenced by the leaders' individual/collective notion of right and wrong.

I dare to say this, even the church is not perfect. The book of Jude says that we should be careful because some ungodly people have slipped into our midst to distort the message of God for their immoral motives (just like the parable of the wheat and tares). These ungodly people/false prophets are always found at the pulpit or in the council.
Some church practices (without being particular) are so needless that I wonder how they found their way into the church, then I realise the power of the "world". The only way we can worship God in truth and in spirit is by following His ways according to the Bible. And yes, everything we need is in it.
John 4:23 says that time has come when by the power of God's spirit (Holy Spirit) people will worship the Father as he truly is, offering him the true worship that He wants. Vs 24 God is spirit, and only by the power of spirit can people worship Him as He really is.
I ask... what is the position of Holy Spirit in our churches? Are we scared of him? He is the minster of truth. If you you invite him into ur life, he will teach you the truth, but be ready to listen.
CHRIST ESTABLISHED THE NEW MODE OF WORSHIP UPON WHICH OUR JUDGMENT WILL BE BASED. It's not where we worship him, but how we worship him, and how we worship him could determine where we worship him.

I accept that God commanded two winged creatures to be molded to indicate His presence then, and this was inline with the old medium of worship. But if you read Hebrews chapter 9, you will discover that Christ though did not annul the old law but he completely changed the mode of worship.
The first covenant had the tents (inner & outer), covenant box, animal sacrifice, cherubim and seraphim, two stone tablets, and ritual cleansing.
Christ replaced all with his death & resurrection, establishing a new covenant.
The cherubim and seraphim cannot by this be a veritable reason as u alluded, except we are moving back to the old system of worship. And I have settled the issue of sculpted serpent.
Don't misunderstand me, check the veracity of every word I typed and condemn me by them if found wrong. I yearn for your valid correction and teaching.

Okay, you must have heard of any of these: Morning Consecration to Mary, Prayer to Our Lady of Czestochowa, Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes, Prayer to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Salve Regina, The Memorare, Act of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Prayer to Our Lady of Sorrows, Hail, Holy Queen, Exaltation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary etc. You may go through them.
There are many, like hundred with several novenas, but some are no longer significant or known. I don't want to go far to avoid passing judgment, but I ask I myself; how many of such do we offer to Christ or to Holy Spirit (our helper/comforter)?.

NB: Church doesn't go to heaven neither does it save, humans do and Christ saves. God has written his laws in the hearts of men and He constantly directs us thru the help of the Holy Spirit on how to effectively worship Him in truth and in spirit. Nobody is asking that one should leave a particular church or stay, but that one should ask the spirit to guide him on how best to worship God 'personally'. He will take his time to school you on God's ways, planting in you any inexplicable passion, humility and love. (If we can remove our heart from "church says" to "God says"... no church is the source of truth and life, we already know the source).
I hate that I'm posting these because I promised myself not to do so again.
On that day, we won't be asked on how religious we were, how steadfast we were within the confines/fore-walls of our churches, but how we served Him in truth and in spirit as He directed. TRUE CHURCH OF GOD IS NOT IN THE NAME/BUILDING BUT MODE OF WORSHIP, which was what Christ completely changed in the old law, from where Christianity emerged. Christ has clearly shown us what He wants from us, and what he doesn't want from us. He didn't leave us in the dark. Everything is in that book, THE HOLY BIBLE. When I started going through the Bible, it was like a tour in the path of truth. Nobody guided me, only the Holy Spirit did. God help us all. May His grace be on you, shalom.
