Hello Guys,

I am very new to this thread and inverter system.
Am planning to get a solar inverter system that can power 2 tvs, 2 dstv decoders, 1 laptop, 3 energy saving bulbs & at least an OX ceiling fan.
I have a budget of about 300k, am based in Lagos.
What can you guys advice? serious advice please and not adverts of your products.

Is that one bedroom, or a one bedroom apartment? To completely power a self contained apartment, you would require a 1kWp system. I have based this on the following assumptions:

Fan - 15 hours a day
Lights - 4 in number - 3 hours a day each
TV - 6 hours viewing a day
Fridge - 24 hours

This system would give you 24 hours a day of energy, on the assumption that there is ZERO PHCN supply. With PHCN, you will require less than this.

We currently retail our 1kWp system for N700k, inclusive of -

4 x 250watt Mono Solar Panels
2KVA Inverter
Complete Wiring
2 x 12V 200AH Batteries
Solar Charge Controller (protects your batteries from overcharging, therefore extends their useful life to 5 years)

Never use car batteries for inverter. A friend working with a car battery importer tried it. It was a waste of money, he had to replace them with "inverter" batteries.

Càr batteries are not designed for such un/loading cycles.

@solnergypwer, please I have a similar question like the person that asked the last question.

I have a 2.4kVA Inverter, running on 2pcs 200AH batteries in series {24v}. Public power supply has really drop drastically in my area, so I now use my gen to charge my batteries almost all the time and as the last person said, I am also not smiling with this new development.

- Please, what Solar panel (Wattage) and Charge Controller rating do i need to effectivly charge my batteries.
- Using my 2.4kva inverter, I will also like to know if I can increase my 200AH batteries to 4pieces still in 24v series.

Please, how do I connect an inverter into my home. I have one and relocated far from previous installer whom I bought it from. I'm yet to get an inverter tech where I am and the electricians around seems confused. Kindly help with guidelines. Cheers.

Note, I also use my gen to charge it when phcn is off for long and the battery is low.

pls I have a question. Is there anything wrong with getting two 300watts mono panel with a 30A PWM charge controller for a 3kva 12V inverter which uses 2 batteries connected in parallel. Also, would there be any difference for the same scenario, but for 4 batteries connected in parallel?
