[quote author=major50 post=129211843]Use your last salary (net) multiply it by 25% your answer will be very close to what you will receive as March salary.
Hope it helps 🙏.

Four months salary completely paid to ASUU members including two months palliative.

Thanks for the updates.

It had to take the threat of strike from the ASUU NEC meeting for the government to start payments. This goes to show that FG are deliberate in their efforts to keep people in penury. They had better pay all the unions to avoid issues as FG seems to triumph in chaos.

Is this GIFMIS platform different from ippis?

Yes it is. I think some agencies that pay themselves, get it through GIFMIS. FTIs were on it before we were forcefully migrated to Ippis.

Min wage committee.

Government of Memos and promises. The approval of salary increment memo for FTIs that came out a year ago is yet to be implemented. Everything about this government is executed only in the media. Former Soviet Union were novices in churning out propaganda in comparison to APC.

Abeg, we don't want all this political, tribal and religious hatred that characterizes Nairaland. This thread has been on since 2019 and has been a succour for ppl who get salary and other government payment info for civil servants. It has been relatively sane and decent with a few skirmishes here and there.

We don't want that vile hatred here.

Resign and start doing what?

E reach to ask o....... before you drop your resignation letter, 1000 ppl are queuing to take over.

Most ppl are living from paycheck to paycheck

How many civil servants can save from their miserable salary unless if they are involved in other extra-curricula stuff in their place of work?

Will milltary rule be better ??

Unfortunately the courts are not going to remove this government. We all have to live with the decision some of our country men and women made in voting this govt. Despite the warnings about the antecedents of APC. We can only hope that our yoke will be lightened. Any responsible govt knows that paying salaries on time is the number one palliative.

If you are going to UK as a lecturer, you would not have more disposable income.

Lecturers earn a modest figure in Europe.

Doubt if I'll continue lecturing, the stress and workload is not worth it.

You think private university can afford them? Only few private university can afford them: Covenant, Landmark, American University etc. If they all migrate, it will still affect the public universities.

In the university system, there's what we call bottom and top heavy. Bottom heavy is situation where you have more junior academic staff than senior staff. While top heavy is the opposite. Now, if a department is bottom heavy, they will lose accreditation. Same applies when a department is top heavy. But for a department to get accreditation it's better that there is a balance between the two.

Why am I telling you all these? Some public universities don't have these talk more of private universities. Less I forget, for a department to be accredited, a professor or associate professor must be the HOD and it takes between 15 to 20 to produce a professor. Just imagine if they all decide to 'japa'. Imagine what will become of our university system. Your argument could be that we will provide the opportunity for younger ones to grow. So will mentor the younger ones if not the senior ones.

Most people don't understand how the university system works. Five of my colleagues who did their post grad abroad have refused to come back. I am on my way out to seek better opportunities. Lecturing in Nigeria is not worth it and it's a dream killer. 15 yrs going down the drain. I wish most students can afford the private university so they can all leave and graduate on time. It's quite unfortunate what everything has come to.

Normally, before strike is called off, government pays everything that is been owned. That has been my experience of several strikes.

Federal University staff and lecturers, how una de cope?

You must have a side hustle. My hubby and I are both lecturers in the same federal university, so no salary since February for the both of us, but we have always had side hustles since we realized our salaries where nothing to write home about years ago. You cannot as a Nigerian lecturer, depend solely on your salary, that is suicide.

Why am i not believing this? It's your first post ever on this platform.

First time posting but I've been following this thread from day 1 since 2019 when the first set of civil servants were paid the MWA.

I was paid this morning, I answered in response to an earlier post asking why ASUU had not been paid.
