N-Power Sunday Miracle: Why Beneficiaries Are Recieving Stipends On Sunday
Npower beneficiaries specifically the lagos arm has started receiving their January stipends according to a post on the social media platform of the initiative. Just mid-day into Sunday 23rd of February some beneficiaries of Npower program started expressing their deliteness about the January Stipend alert from their banks. However, it was noted on the npower lagos social media handle that only UBA and FCMB users acknowledge the receipt of the stipend yet with screenshot of their alert.

Meanwhile, my major concern is the reason these beneficiaries are paid on a Sunday. As I critically observe this issue I thought of the following few points:

Firstly, there are report initially that the beneficiaries will receive their stipend on Friday 22nd of February but it was not paid, could it be that the banks received the cash very late on Friday and thus has to disburse the cash on or before Monday?

Secondly, there are many social media protest by the beneficiaries of this program to begin a strike action nationwide on Monday 24th February . Could it be that the information had reach the federal government or the honourable minister and thus urgent actions were ordered for the payment?

Thirdly, in the course of last week, it was reported that the senators are looking into probing the social investment program. This came after some beneficiaries claimed they had been exited illegally from the program. Maybe the probing of this social investment funds led to the quick disbursements of the stipends.

Above all, the major questions is why paying on Sunday? Which bank work on Sunday ? All these suspicious attitues makes many thought flows in the mind of Nigerians and the beneficiaries. Notwithstanding, it a good thing for the beneficiaries to start receiving their stipends.

Man Who Raped his Three step Daughter Claims He Was Teaching Them Some Lessons
A 25 -year-old okada driver was reportedly having sex with the kids that his wife brought from another man

Trouble started for the children after their mother left their father and took them to a new man

Their mother, a cleaner at an undisclosed hospital, moved her three children to her new home, after she remarried.

Their step-father Femi Adeshina as gathered, started violating the eldest of the girls, who was 18 years.

Unable to bear the sexual abuse, she reportedly fled home, leaving her two siblings at the mercy of the pedophile.

Abidoye, who is also an auto Mechanic, according to the two younger girls, started the sexual assault by fingering, before progressing to penetration.

The abuse, according to them, continued for years until they turned 13 and 15 years.

They also claimed to have reported to their mother but that she disbelieved them.

Coordinator of the Child Protection Unit, Mr Toyin Okanlawon, who spoke with newsmen, said: “When the girls were taken to the police station, they looked haggard . From the station, they were taken to the Child Protection Unit under the Ministry of Youths and Social Development, from where they were linked to a shelter, since two months ago.

“The perpetrator has been abusing the girls for about four years. His wife, who is nursing a five-month-old baby, also has a two years old girl for him. She was present at the station. Her high level of neglect was berated by the Police.

“The girls also mentioned one Mr. Emmanuel of same address whom they said told them not to tell the Police that their father was sexually abusing them.”

It was gathered that the home had concluded preparation to enroll the girls in primary schools, having been out of school for years.

During interrogation, the suspect, who initially denied the allegation, said he wanted to teach them a lesson for being defiant.[/quote]

A suspected member of a gang responsible for some of the attacks in villages in the northern region of the country has been paraded alongside the 2 AK-47 rifles and magazines found hidden in his motorcycle’s seat.

Nigerian producer, Don Jazzy has given his response to the advice by Nigerian Pastor E.A Adeboye

It will be recalled that Pastor Adeboye had on Monday advises Nigerian men against marrying a woman that cannot cook. Adeboye made this known on his twitter handle.

Why Oshiomhole Should Be Sacked, Prosecuted – Afenifere

The Yoruba Socio-Cultural organisation, Afenifere, on Sunday called for the removal and prosecution of Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, over his recent inflammatory comment.
Afenifere’s spokesperson, Yinka Odumakin made the call in an exclusive chat with DAILY POST while condemning the inflammatory comment by Oshiomhole over the Supreme Court ruling on Bayelsa State governorship election.

Recall that the Supreme Court had on Thursday sacked David Lyon of the APC as Governor-Elect of Bayelsa State while declaring Douye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, winner of the election.

Displeased by the ruling, Oshiomhole had vowed that nobody would be sworn-in as governor of Bayelsa State.

The APC National Chairman had anchored his threats on the fact that Lyon had the highest number of votes during the election.

Despite Oshiomhole’s threat, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had on Friday declared Diri winner of the election and issued him the Certificate of Return.

The ruling, however, led to some angry youths in the state attacking PDP and Diri’s properties in the state.

Reacting to the violence that broke out after the apex court verdict, Odumakin stressed that Oshiomhole should be removed as National Chairman.

According to the Afenifere spokesperson, only an irresponsible organisation will allow Oshiomhole to continue leading them after making such an inflammatory comment.

Asked if Oshiomhole should be arrested and prosecuted, Odumakin said: “In a sane clime, that is the right thing for making frightening and provocative statements, which had led to arsons and burning of properties in the state.

“Any organisation that retains such a man (Oshiomhole) as its National Chairman after what has happened will be an irresponsible organisation.

“The best thing to do now is to remove him, find a more suitable replacement and be prosecuted for the damage he has caused. Note that if they fail to remove him others will do what he has done.”[/quote]

young lady simply identified as Ayishat, bled to death on Valentine’s day after she was attacked by some ladies who accused her of snatching the boyfriend of one of them identified as Isiwat. The girls, all said to be under 18, have been friends for years.

On Valentine’s day, Isiwat and her friends allegedly bought a pack of razor blades and used it on Ayishat, disfuguring her face, and leaving deep cuts that showed her teeth. She was rushed to the White House hospital at Boundary road Ajegunle where she was confirmed dead.

A source told LIB the police in Ajegunle have arrested the suspects while Isiwat is said to be on the run, but her mother has since been arrested.

Isiwat however took to Facebook to claim she was also injured. She shared a photo of her face covered with plasters while telling her followers to pray for her ”quick recover”. But her followers called her out, stating that she’s only pretending to cover up for the crime she had committed.

Caroline Flack, the TV presenter, has died at the age of 40, days before she was due to face trial for assaulting her boyfriend. The former host of ITV2’s Love Island is reported to have been discovered at her home in London on Saturday.
On Friday, her boyfriend Lewis Burton attempted to contact her. She had been forbidden by a judge from communicating with Burton before the trial, which was due to begin on 4 March.

A statement from her family said: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today, 15 February. We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us.”

A lawyer for the Flack family told the Press Association that Caroline had taken her own life and been found in her east London flat.

ITV announced that a highlights episode of Love Island that was due to air at 9pm on ITV2 would no longer be shown. Channel 4 said that it would no longer air a TV series called The Surjury, featuring Flack as the host.
Flack presented many of UK television’s biggest reality TV shows and their spinoffs, from The X Factor to I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here Now!, and won the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.

She was arrested in December for assault and was charged with attacking Burton, 27, with a lamp at their home in Islington. Katie Weiss, prosecuting, told that court that Burton had “received significant injury to his head”.

“He said he had been asleep and was hit over the head by Caroline with a lamp, causing a visible cut to his head,” Weiss said. “She had also smashed a glass and had sustained an injury.”

Weiss said police officers found the couple covered in blood when they arrived at the scene. But Burton had not supported the prosecution, according to Flack’s lawyer, Paul Morris.

Judge Julia Newton released Flack on bail but imposed conditions on her, forbidding her from contacting Burton in any way until the trial.

Last week, Burton, a former professional tennis player, posted a picture of the couple together with the caption “Happy Valentine’s Day”. Flack posted an image of her dog.
Tabloids such as the Sun, which broke news of her death, moved swiftly to delete recent negative stories about Flack.

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker was among the people paying tribute to Flack following news of her death. He tweeted: “Awful news about Caroline Flack. We really need to be better at taking care of each other. So sad.”

Eamonn Holmes tweeted: “Caroline Flack … Dear God. Shocked beyond belief. May she have found peace. RIP. Has to be repercussions for Love Island now surely?”

This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield paid tribute to Flack with a post on his Instagram stories. He added text above a message that Flack had posted on social media, which read: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”

Former Love Island contestant Wes Nelson wrote a long message on Instagram describing her as “an absolute diamond and “one of the warmest funniest people I’ve ever met.”

Fire incidents are gradually becoming rampant in different states in Nigeria and most people have opined that it is a spiritual case.

Sleeping with or Having intimacy with more than 10 partners over a lifetime can increase your chances of getting cancer, according to a shock new study.
And women with a higher number of sexual partners are more likely to report a limiting, long-term condition, experts from the UK, Austria, Turkey, Canada and Italy found.

The researchers analysed data from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA) involving adults aged 50 and over in England.

Some 5,722 participants reported how many sexual partners they had and rated their health and any long-term condition on a questionnaire in 2012/13.

Those who had more sexual partners were younger, more likely to smoke, drink frequently, and do more vigorous physical activity each week, the researchers said.

The average age of participants was 64, and almost three-quarters were married.

Some 22% of men and and just under 8% of women reported 10 or more sexual partners.

The researchers found a statistically significant association between the number of lifetime sexual partners and risk of a cancer diagnosis among men and women sleeping together.

Compared with women who reported 0-1 sexual partners, those who said they had had 10 or more had 91% increased odds of being diagnosed with cancer.

Men who reported 2-4 lifetime sexual partners were 57% more likely to have been diagnosed with cancer than were those who reported 0-1.

And those who reported 10 or more, were 69% more likely to have been diagnosed with the disease.

The study, published in BMJ Sexual & Reproductive Health, also found that women who reported five to nine, or more than 10 lifetime sexual partners were 64% more likely to have a limiting chronic condition than those who said they had had 0-1.

The researchers did not find any association in men.

While the study does not establish cause, it mirrors previous findings linking sexually transmitted infections in the development of several cancers and hepatitis.

The small number of cancer diagnoses in the participants meant the researchers were not able to analyse the results broken down by cancer type

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has mocked the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, for saying insurgents had been defeated.

Recall that Buratai said the military had won the war against insurgency as the Boko Haram terrorists do not control any territory in Nigeria.

However, Shekau dismissed his claim, insisting that the insurgents had the upper hand in the war.

He said: “Buratai, I am addressing you in your own language; I am speaking your language, but you may not understand it. You claim you have defeated us, but it is a lie. You are a real liar.”

He also mocked followers of Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, and the Tijjaniyya sect led by Dahiru Bauchi, stressing that the people of Kano and Kaduna were in trouble.

Shekau’s statements were contained in a video released 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari visited Borno over last Sunday’s killings at Auno, even as the Senate, Thursday, urged the Nigerian Army to set up a base at Auno to prevent a recurrence of the killings in the village.
