Hi guys,

For those who got a bank reference letter from GTB, did it include their email address ? I don’t know if I’m overthinking but I was able to get the letter containing all the requirements after a long process, but later noticed that there’s nowhere an email address was indicated on the letter, although the bank’s phone numbers are there. I know part of CIC requirements for bank letter includes contact details (address, phone nos and email address), hence my concern.
It was quite a tedious process getting the letter and would like to avoid repeating it if possible.

Please advise 🙏🏽
Please let me know what you guys think about this 🙏🏽

Hello House,

I’d greatly appreciate some advice on a challenge I’m currently facing. We’re in the process of putting together our application post ITA and we realized that my husband’s occupation on our marriage certificate is different from his actual profession(the two professions are somewhat similar but not exactly the same, especially in terms of the NOCs they fall under.) We honestly don’t know how such a mistake was made and only realized it when we were putting our documents together post ITA. Please note that I’m the principal applicant so it doesn’t affect our scores or anything. I’m just concerned because I don’t want any inconsistencies in our application. We’re trying to see if we can correct it with the Marriage Registry but I don’t know how long it will take and I don’t want it to delay our application given that we have a deadline.

I’d appreciate some input from the gurus or anyone who has experienced something similar. Thanks

I'm not sure it's that big of a deal actually i.e. organization vs. employment. The important thing is to list the companies and your role in each. I may be wrong though.

For you & your spouse’s companies as well as for the subsidiaries of your employer, if you are on the board, then maybe use organization. If you are an employee then maybe use employment and of course you are free to add a LOE to explain what you wrote above or any other intricacies of your peculiar situation.

It makes sense to me that you may be employed by multiple firms, if they are affiliates. You can add further evidence of the relationship between the companies if it makes you feel more confident about your application.

As we've been discussing on the last few pages, declare everything..... IRCC have graciously allowed for LOEs, so we should use them where necessary.

You no get problem.

This makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much for your response @GraciousWords. I appreciate your input.

You just declare it in personal history - page 1 FAQ 41

Board positions would be under "organization" IMO as you are not "employed" by the organizations as an employee but rather serve on the board......AFAIK.

Why is this a concern though?

Thank you GraciousWords

My concern is that I have a full time job. However, I have a side hustle and few years ago, I registered it with the CAC. In addition, my husband registered several companies and included me as a Director in these companies. Lastly, I’m a lawyer and the company I work for has subsidiary companies where I serve as the Secretary. None of these companies were listed in my EE profile, except my full time job which fetched me points for 3 years under work experience.

How do I present these in my Personal Activity. Do I list these companies under Employment or Organization? I don’t want it to seem as if I have several employments running concurrently, and at the same time, I don’t want to misrepresent.

Thank you

Hello House! I’m currently completing my application after receiving an ITA. I would greatly appreciate some advice on a certain concern of mine, especially from the gurus in the house.

The thing is that I’m connected to several different companies(either as director or company secretary) besides my main job. In the “personal history” section of my application, do I list them under the title: “organizations” or under “employment “ ? I’m concerned about them clashing with my actual full-time job/employment since they are all running at the same time while I’m claiming points for a “full-time job “

Essentially, how do I declare my involvement as director/secretary in several other companies (while in a full-time employment) without creating issues in my application?

I would appreciate some input into this please.

Hello House,
Please I need some advice. I’m an ITA hopeful and currently in the pool with a score of 484. However my IELTS expires in January, 2023 (test date-23rd of Jan, result date -3rd of Feb)

My first question- in calculating expiration date of IELTS, which date is used? Test date or result date?

Secondly, I recently had a baby (ending of August) and his passport isn’t likely to be ready before my IELTS expires, meaning that in the event that we get an ITA, I may have to submit our application without his passport in order to beat my IELTS expiration date. Is it advisable to do this? I intend to include an LOE saying that his passport isn’t ready and will be added later.

Or do I write another IELTS? (I really don’t want to because of the cost + stress ) My current IELTS band is 8.5 overall and I’ll have to maintain that score to keep my current CRS score.

P.S: This is in the hope and belief that we will get invited before mid January at least.

Please advise. Thanks
