Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has suspended its planned nationwide strike that would have started today, Monday, September 28, in protest against the hike in pump price of fuel and electricity tariff. Earlier, there were indications that the Federal Government and NLC might reach an agreement to avert the looming nationwide strike. The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo(SAN) tweeted that there was hope the industrial crisis might be avoided. He stated on his verified Twitter handle(@fkeyamo): “Still negotiating with labour at exactly 12.34am. Some progress have been made. Concrete proposals on the table from both sides." “Details being worked on by the temporary Secretariat. Gradually moving towards a point of convergence. Let’s hope….” Furthermore, a source told Vanguard that it is possible the tariff will be suspended for two weeks, but said nothing specific about fuel pump price. The source also said a joint government/Labour committee will be set up to review the issues within those two weeks. It also learnt that a communique is being hammered out, an indication that some sort of agreement had been arrived at. Recall that it was reported that the issue of pump price hike had links with IMF, the World Bank and other international finance bodies Nigeria is indebted to. Shibaraba: I don't know, but I think it's a Lady that wrote this. Well, it doesn't matter. This guy came here and expressed a genuine concern and you're saying a thoughtless thing as this. No one considers that he told his wife about his concern INITIALLY, or the fact that she told a lie about it? Like why would she tell a lie about something as simple as that to her husband, and afterwards send that message to emotionally blackmail him. She's hiding something and he has every reason to be worried. Degree of responsiveness differs in everyone, hence it's good counselling to consider this while brokering arguments of couples. I would advise him to call her mother first and ensure ask her about it, subtly if I may add. If she confirms the lie, call your wife and calmly speak to her. Don't be rash, don't threaten. If that doesn't work, invite a member of both families (more than one would be a crowd), including her mother who'd be her hostile witness. It's important to iron out this issue early, otherwise it is possible for the quarrel to continue and in the long run, the bone of contention will become a difficult thing to discover. Ciao! |

An operative of the Department of State Services has reportedly killed one Onyeocha Umuokwu, in Alor Community, Idemili South LGA of Anambra State. It was gathered that the incident happened on Christmas Day. The officer, it was gathered, allegedly fired at a cow that was running away from a VIP’s house, but missed his target and the bullet hit the victim. A source, who may have mistaken the DSS officer for a policeman, said “Onyeocha Umuokwu was shot by a police officer at Mr. Emeka Eze’s house on 25th December 2019, in Alor. “A cow cut the rope they tied it with and started running. A police officer on duty aimed to shoot the cow, but mistakenly shot and killed Onyeocha Umuokwu. So painful.” The state Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, in a statement on Friday, dispelled the claim that it was a policeman that committed the act. He said,” The attention of the Anambra State Police Command has been drawn to a misleading report being circulated that one Onyeocha Umuokwu was allegedly shot by a police officer at Engineer Eze’s house on the 25/12/2019 in Alor Community, Idemili South LGA of Anambra State. “The report probably orchestrated by mischief makers who want to portray the police in a bad light is totally misleading. “In order to clear ambiguity and to set the record straight, on the 25/12/2019 at the residence of one Engr Emeka Eze of Umuokwu village Alor, a DSS personnel whose identity is yet unknown attached to a VIP allegedly fired gunshot at a cow in a bid to stop it from escaping but the bullet missed target and allegedly hit one Nnaemaka Nnabuenyi(a domestic staff of the said Engineer) popularly known as Onyeocha and the victim died on the spot. The incident was not reported to the police. Mohammed added, “Following the incident, police detectives led by DPO Nnobi Division visited the scene but neither the Engineer nor the victim’s relatives are willing to provide any useful information that will aid police investigation. “However, the corpse was taken to the mortuary for autopsy and the case is under investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.” Source: https://punchng.com/dss-officer-kills-man-while-firing-at-runaway-christmas-cow/ |

Anthony Joshua says he has 15 more fights before he retires from professional boxing. Joshua avenged his shock loss in his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr with a unanimous points decision. And now with his world titles back in his possession, boxing fans are desperate to see him take on fellow heavyweight kings Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury. But first will be a mandatory scrap against either the IBF’s Kubrat Pulev or the WBO’s Oleksandr Usyk. If he manages to navigate through this, the chance to become undisputed champ against either Fury or Wilder should present itself. But Joshua doesn’t think his career will stop there. In an interview with Sky Sports, when asked how many more fights he will have, the 30-year-old responded: “Fourteen, fifteen. That would take me to 35, 40 fights maybe.” It’s likely that means Joshua will box on for another five years, taking him to 35-years-old. Joshua also admitted he could be forced into vacating the WBO belt if he decides on fighting IBF mandatory Pulev next. He added: “I would hate it because it’s so hard to go round and collect all these belts, it’s really difficult and I’ve kept hold of them for so many years. “So to have to vacate because of the boxing politics would be annoying, but there’s things that are out of my control.” Source: https://www.today.ng/sport/boxing/anthony-joshua-set-retire-boxing-15-fights-270525/amp?__twitter_impression=true |

Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko were said to have engaged in a war of words The duo, however, boarded the same flight to Abuja after the hot exchange of words A report by Daily Trust indicate that two former governors of Sokoto state, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko engaged in a war of words at the Sultan Abubakar III International Airport, Sokoto on Monday, December 9. Bafarawa was said to have shunned Wamakko who stood to greet him at the VIP lodge of the airport on his arrival. According to the report, Bafarawa's action was the recent statement made by his predecessor, which termed him as a seasonal migrant to Sokoto state. “You said I am a seasonal visitor to Sokoto, why are you greeting me. I know my father and grand father were born and died here, I can even show you their graves. Can you show me the grave of your grand father?,” he allegedly asked Wamakko. Wamakko was said to have responded by saying: “I don’t want to know where your father and grand father are buried. All I know is that you are a seasonal migrant in Sokoto, that is all. “There are other people whose parents and grant parents have been buried here but you called them seasonal migrants as well. So just go and face your businesses.” The duo, however, boarded the same flight to Abuja after the hot exchange of words. Wamakko, now a senator, deputized Bafarawa for almost eight years before he voluntarily resigned to avoid impeachment. The senator later succeeded Bafarawa after defeating his anointed candidate who is now the minister of police affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi in the Sokoto state 2007 governorship election. Meanwhile, a recent media report revealed that former governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari, paid himself and his former deputy N525 million two days before they left office. According to the report, official documents and a bank statement show that Yari was paid N350 million two days before he left office. The money was paid from the state government’s gratuity funds under the pension sub-account with a new generation bank branch in Gusau, the state capital on Monday, May 27. Also, the then outgoing deputy governor, Ibrahim Wakkala, was paid N175 million from the same account. justwise: It's true those can come from the scammers. But you should know that the first thing in carrying out such a thorough check, is to be sure that the site is genuine. There are websites for this agency, hence a false fascimile of the site will only succeed in creating another. Ask questions, don't limit yourself to the site else wise you've not done any background check at all. About the issue of visa, you don't assume that it was immediately issued. Besides, it's a possibility. Or where you thinking that you'll be called for an interview? |

The thing is; people like to think of a lot of things in the negative light. It's a safety measure anyway. But I think a little look into the good light is necessary. Come to think of it, what if the whole process turns out to be genuine? He'd probably say that the Lord doesn't want him to get the job. I'm just saying. The best thing is to look up the agency. They always have a website, and therein a customer contact service. Communicate with the organisation, ask if the mail is genuine. It won't cost a thing. You should not lose a good opportunity on sentiments. Just be careful. |

The guy said the truth. You may think that his Father's wealth made him who he is or may open doors for him, you're correct. But don't forget that its the duty of his parents to do that; that is,to construct a foundation for his future. You don't bring a child into this world and expect him to singlehandedly fend for himself. No be am tell you make you DO! |

I do not see any quarrel, rather a disparity bothering on checks and balances which is a prerequisite to our democracy. Magu has been rejected, and clearly on the basis of alleged facts of corruption. The president should focus on getting a new 'saint' to champion his crusade and not giving us this crap that they've tagged peace move |

Its not your fault, and Konga was wrong to have taken action whatsoever against you. Regarding the phone, if you read the conditions upon which most of these phone companies hinge their warranty, you'll discover in most cases that a warranty does not cover a situation where the IMEI number had been removed, erased, defaced, altered or are illegible in any way. Where such is the case, there is no help for the buyer. You have to be professional at all times, if she's rude and has no case, tell her blatantly even if the head of Konga is her father. You ought not call her back after informing her of the policy and subsequently, reporting to your superiors. 5 Likes |
