Phones / What Phone Do I Buy? Someone Suggested HTC Desire 616 by Pharoahnd: 11:46am On Mar 04, 2016
Hello guys,

I plan to replace my phone next month, but the problem is that I am currently at loss on which phone to buy.

I currently use a Blackberry Bold 5, which I have been using for the past 3 years. I must say that it served me well, but its time to move on to another phone, with better speed, etc.

I currently have a Samsung Tablet which I love a lot, but I'm thinking that buying another Samsung phone would make me too concentrated or exposed to Samsung.

Someone suggested the HTC Desire 616, claiming that it has better speed, battery power and picture quality.

I will really appreciate honest suggestions from you guys.

Please note that I am that type of guys that insists on using a phone for at least 2 years (3 years preferred), therefore the phone must be durable. In fact I hate phones that are too fragile. I heard that the Samsung screen is fragile and costs 'an arm and leg' to replace.

Also, I hate large phones, and would prefer one that I can carry in my trouser pocket at all times.

As per my budget, I don't mind going as high as 70k

@GenBuhari, name one former Nigerian president/Head of State dat u are satisfied with his tenure and I will show u a nation in economic uhuru. We overemphasize Obj's flaws and misjudgements and sweep his achievements under the rug. The speed at which u were able to 'copy and paste' a negative article on Obj fails to impress me because they've never seen anything good in him from day one. Their opinions are always tilted in one direction

Obasanjo might be said to be greedy, vindictive and corrupt, but as far as I am concerned, he was one of the best and boldest presidents we ever had. His love for the nation is unchallangeable, how many former presidents would volunteer to put their lives on the line by agreeing to mediate in the heat of the boko haram crisi. You know the saying that "a prophet is never loved in his hometown". Go outside Nigeria and see the amount of respect the guy still commands in Africa, long after relinquishing power. Can someone please name any other former president in Nigeria dat still gets his kind of reception after relinquishing power? I'm with Baba all the way and would have voted him to return as a third-term president, because the quality of gutless leaders I see now don't leave me with much confidence

Make a set of rules of what you want the brother to change in his habits. Ensure they are reasonable rules.

Call your husband and his brother and present it to them assertively and with aplomb.

Let your husband know you expect him to monitor the rules are adhered to.

Monitor for about 1 month to see if there is an improvement.

If no significant improvement, get yourself a ticket and go back to Nigeria.

Tell your husband you love him but you will only comeback when his brother is out of the house.

By then, your husband has completely lost the right to even discuss how to improve his behaviour, it is now a case of him getting out of the house.

Make sure you have something to go and be doing in Nigeria. Even when the brother is out, take 2-8 weeks before going back to SA.

Be careful before u start leaving ur husband to return to Nigeria and giving him ultimatum to kick-out his brother before u return. Remeber he's known this boy all his life and may be fond of him. If u insist he's thrown out, it might just jeopardize ur own marriage, especially if u've been having ur own issues with ur husband. Besides, if u leave him and travel for weeks under the pretenc of been upset about his brother's presence, other women might just use this opportunity to replace u
Religion / Re: Stop It! No One Spoke In Unknown Tongues In The Bible! by Pharoahnd: 6:27pm On Feb 23, 2012
The poster's argument makes a lot of sense to me. Has someone ever stopped to ask themselve what they are actually achieving whenever they open their mouths and start to make all sorts of sounds in the name of speaking in tongues? When u make those sounds, who are u communicating to? If u claim to be communicating to man at dat point in time, then it is best u speak a language he understands. On the other hand, if u claim to be communicating to God in ur self-induced tongues, then confirm to me which verse in the bible requires u to babble ceaslessly to talk to God. Like the poster said, Paul laid his hands on them and they began to speak in tongues, which to me is for the purpose of those dat were from the foreign lands. Over here we do a lot of follow-follow without stopping to ask ourselves why we do what we do and what we achive by doing it. As for me, u'll never catch me blabbing in some concoted language in the name of speaking in tongues. I hail u for finding the bravery to come up with such a issue dat has bothered me for a long time.

As for me, I think its too early to start praising Sanusi. In fact Sanusi's current torrent of policies worry me.
1. He just printed N400 billion naira which he pumped into the economy. Has he considered the effect of this action on inflation, especially considering his policy objective of attaining a single-digit inflation.
2. The Federal Government has announced that it would stop subsidzing fuel cost by November 2009. The current apprehension in the banking system would not likely encourage banks to lend to the oil marketers which might create scarcity. I see NLC going up in arms if this happens, I hope it would not create a problem for the economy.
3. Many foreigners are questioning the seemingly unlimited powers of the CBN to fire bank chiefs without any due process. I hope this would not even discourage the foreign investors.
4. He has had to make and reverse polices immediately which suggests that he's in a hurry to create an impression. In such a hurry, he might not properly chew up a policy before spitting it out. Hope he's fully considering the effect of the barrage of policies he is churning out.
5. I'm worried about herd effect. The bank's crowding into the equity market significantly contributed to its going burst. Now it's time to crowd into the bond market and crash it - First bank = N500b, UBA = N500b, Diamond = N200b, e.t.c undecided lipsrsealed
