Politics / I Have No Regrets Kidnapping APC Chairmans Son “ Suspect by plucomtech: 10:36am On Sep 25, 2018
A female kidnap suspect, Fatima Muhammed, says she has no regrets kidnapping the four-year-old son of Bukar Dalori, the Borno Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fatima made this known when she was paraded before newsmen shortly after her arrest in Maiduguri on Monday

I committed the crime because I am in love with money.

I have no regrets over the crime I committed and even if it is my own child I will kidnap him for money.

I know he is the son of the APC chairman; I took him because I want money to go and enjoy myself somewhere.

Why should I regret anything, Fatima said.

Earlier, Mr Damian Chukwu, the Commissioner of Police in Borno, said Fatima, was delivered of a baby boy when she was arrested at Albarka Hotel in Maiduguri on Sept 21.

Fatima allegedly abducted the boy and two others from a school and demanded for N20 million ransom.

Chukwu said the woman and the child were in good condition at the time she was arrested by men of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

It is pertinent to mention that the Fatima Mohammed was pregnant at the time she kidnapped the minor and gave birth to a baby boy in a Guess Inn while keeping the victim on Sept. 2, he said.

The commissioner said that two suspects, Muhammed Musa and Muktar Ali-Shaibu, both from Bulumkutu Area in Maiduguri were arrested in Kano at the point of collecting the ransom.

He explained that the suspects, who admitted the crime, said they did it for the love of worldly things.

Chukwu said that the command was also investigating involvement of an army major who paid the two days accommodation for the suspect to keep the child at the hotel, adding that the manager was also arrested.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / English League Cup Round 3 Preview: Arsenal Looking Good In Form Revival by plucomtech: 10:28am On Sep 25, 2018
he third round action in the English League Cup continues this coming Wednesday night (26 September) with some mouth-watering clashes on the cards. The pick of the action is undoubtedly the match between Liverpool and Chelsea, two favourites for the Premier League title meeting in a prelude to their clash this coming weekend.

First things first

Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the League Cup into its third round already, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.

Where should I be investing my money?

First up, Arsenal host in-form Brentford at the Emirates Stadium. This will be the first competitive fixture between these two sides for well over half a century “ the last meeting came all the way back in 1947.

Brentford sit seventh in the Championship but their form on the road has been disappointing to say the least. The club has won just once on the road this season, in the previous round of this competition at Southend United.

Arsenal, by way of comparison, are on an excellent run of form. The Gunners have won their last five matches in a row across all competitions and can approach this cup tie brimming with confidence.

And it is therefore of no surprise that it is Arsenal who come into the match as the favourites to wrap up victory inside 90 minutes. You can back the Gunners to win at just 1.33, with Brentford all the way out at 9.00 to do the same.

Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 at the weekend and are at 8.50 to win by the same score line here. You could also more than triple your money by backing under 2.5 goals in the game at a price of 3.10, according to Oddsshark.

Liverpool and Chelsea meet in pick of round

And the most anticipated action of Wednesday night will come from Anfield, where Premier League leaders Liverpool will welcome Chelsea. The Reds are the only side in the league with a 100 per cent record, having also got their UEFA Champions League campaign off on the right foot with a 3-2 win over PSG last week.

Chelsea, meanwhile, could also boast a 100 per cent record until this past weekend, when they were held to a goalless draw by West Ham United. They sit third in the league table, level on points with defending champions Manchester City and having scored 14 goals at an impressive rate of 2.33 goals per game.

Both of these sides play bold, expansive football and we are expecting goals in this one. Liverpool are the favourites to simply qualify at a price of 1.50, while you can more than double your money by backing Chelsea to do so at 2.50.

Liverpool are at just 1.85 to win inside 90 minutes and we are expecting them to maintain their 100 per cent record this season. A 3-1 win for the Reds comes in at 13.00, offering more than a ten-fold return on any investment “ you can also back both teams to score at a price of 1.66.

Spurs hope to maintain winning ways

And finally, Tottenham will look to keep up that winning feeling when they play Watford. These two teams met earlier this month in the Premier League, with Watford emerging 2-1 winners and putting an end to Tottenhams 100 per cent start to the new season.

Again, goals could well be on the cards here. Both sides have scored in all of their competitive fixtures so far this term and we are not expecting that statistic to change on Wednesday night “ in 14 games, these two teams have kept just three clean sheets between them.

Tottenham however come in as the favourites to win inside 90 minutes and are priced at just 1.45 to do so. Watford, by way of comparison, are all the way out at 8.00 to do the same.

A 2-1 win for Spurs comes in at 8.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$40 pay out. You can also back England forward Harry Kane to get his name on the score sheet at just 1.53, while the striker is at 3.40 to net either the first or the last goal of the game.

Politics / Buhari Praises Mandela, Blasts Xenophobia (full Speech) by plucomtech: 10:19am On Sep 25, 2018
Buhari spoke on Monday evening at the declaration of Nelson Mandela Decade of Peace at the UN headquarters in New York in commemoration of the centenary celebration of the late anti-apartheid icon.
According to him, Nigeria was committed to the promotion and protection of the rights of all women as well as providing an enabling environment for them to realise their full potential.

Buhari said:

We also recognise that inherent dignity and the equal and inalienable rights of all peoples in the world is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.

We declare that racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance present the very opposite of the noble purposes of the United Nations.

We recognise that tolerance of cultural, ethnic, racial, and religious diversities are essential for lasting peace, understanding and friendship among peoples, nations, cultures and individuals.

As Mandela passes to history, we stand with him in his aspirations for a better world, the Nigerian leader said

He said the world was facing diverse challenges such as conflict, climate change, terrorism, desertification, poverty, armed trafficking and violent extremism.

He stressed the need for the global community to live up to Mandelas indelible legacies by being accountable to the values and principles and hope for the declaration through striving for a just, peaceful, prosperous, democratic, fair and inclusive world.

There is need for concerted efforts to build a just, peaceful, prosperous, inclusive and fair world and revive the values which Mandela stood for.

This centenary celebration provides an avenue to reflect on the legacies of Nelson Mandela and his unwavering advocacy for human rights, social justice and peace.

It also affords us the rare privilege to rededicate ourselves to the service of humanity by championing democracy, conflict resolution, disarmament, mutual respect, reconciliation, gender equality and the fight against poverty.

There is no doubt that in the quest to attain peace and development, the world will draw inspiration from the life of Nelson Mandela.

As we herald the Nelson Mandela Decade of Peace, Nigeria calls on all states to recognise that the United Nations is built on pillars of peace and security, development and human rights.

These are the foundations for our collective wellbeing and emphasise that there can be no peace without sustainable development and no sustainable development without peace and the full respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all.

Buhari noted that by the declaration of the Mandelas Decade of Peace, Nigeria recognised the contributions of women to the advancement of societies and their contributions to the prevention and resolution of conflicts.
