Good day all,

Please I will like to connect with someone who wrote NCLEX in the US with a B1/B2 visa. I have an interview coming up. Please kindly reach me or put up how the interview went (the questions asked and response provided). God bless you.

It is not advisable to fly any European airline now. People have said it over and over again on this platform. A friend of mine was turned back and was not carried by Lutfhansa. They are only carrying US residents and citizens.
Debbieeeeeee:

I suggested BA because they’re not bad at least in terms of timing and I suggested Lufthansa too

Awww...so glad to hear this, and I wish you a smooth delivery.
Lochinny:
Hi guys! Wanted to give my POE experience coz I’ve learnt a lot here and I believe mine would help someone. Sometime in March I told you guys about having a visa that’ll expire in May and that I was thinking of using it to give birth. I was encouraged most especially by @debbieeeeee
and @pointednose to go ahead.. and I actually did.

So here’s my experience:
I traveled with my Child which I gave birth to with the same visa 2 years ago. It wasn’t an easy journey. Went with Qatar airways. (One of the best airline I must say, just that the journey was quite long)
My POE was JFK which I used the previous time. When I got there, I was directed to join the citizens line because of my child. While on the line, a lady saw me and asked me to come forward (obviously a helper from God plus she saw I was pregnant and carrying a child) mind you, I didn’t try to cover it my pregnancy. did same 2 years ago infact I was almost due when I traveled the last time.
So back to my story, I met the POE officer who asked for my passport, he collected my child’s own and asked what I’m here for, I told him to have my 2nd baby. He looked at the computer for a while without saying a word to me, then stamped my child’s passport. Then he collected mine and asked where I was going to stay and asked for how long. I told him the town I was staying and I’m looking at 3months Or more. He now asked if I came with any food stuffs and I told him just spices, he now asked to see my face and I removed my face mask. He then stamped my passport 6 months and said have a nice stay.

From this, I can tell you two things
1) prayer is the key. I and my husband prayed seriously for a smooth Poe. Even told my pastor

2) Be truthful. Just say the truth to them. I learnt it here that being honest pays so when I traveled to have my first child, I told them exactly the same thing, (then I was obviously pregnant so I couldn’t even dare lying) and it was an easy Poe and I used the same JFK.
After hearing people say that 2nd time is always tougher, I got scared and people advised me to cover up since my pregnancy isn’t that obvious but I still couldn’t see myself doing it. I just said what will be will be. I made sure I was with every single receipt from the first one and a letter from the hospital showing I didn’t collect any Medicaid from them. Still they didn’t ask of anything..

These people appreciate honesty and I think if we keep being honest, they’ll start seeing Nigerians in a good way.

Thanks @Debbieeeeee and @PointedNose for the encouragement.

Hello gurus in the house, i have an enquiry. I have a valid B2 visa but my due date is 2weeks after my visa's expiry date. Is it possible to still use this visa for birthing and hope the POE stamps me in for 6months. Do i risk getting banned for future visa applications by following this route if i am leaving the US after the expiry of my visa but before the expiry of my POE Stamped in date. Help a sister with valid information please.

You can enter the US before your visa expires.

Your visa only admits you to the point f entry.

Your entry into the US is determined by the officers at the point of entry.

So you are good to go.

VISA ALERT

So I had my appointment on Tuesday and it was successful, visa picked up today

Questions asked by VO
where are you going to
why are you travelling
when was the last time you travelled to the US
how long did you stay for
why did you travel
what do you do
how much do you earn
what countries have you travelled to
how may times have you travelled to the US
what does your husband do
you have children, how many
where are the children right now

Brief history
birthed my son in 2015, birthed my daughter in 2018
I was very scared because of all the stories of people not been able to renew their visa because of child birth, went with both receipts and document, and not one was asked for.

Alot of people where denied, noticed only two approvals before mine, families denied, couple, elderly woman etc, it was a very tensed atmosphere.
Noticed a preggy but she was denied.
Someone going for training in August was approved but he was told to send a mail towards the end of May so he can drop off his passport at DHL as it was too early now

A big thank you to this forum for all the info,

This makes a lot of sense.
LSU:
I can see multiple questions and sometimes conflicting information on the thread. Let me try and provide some clarifications.

The new rule on birthing in the USA only applies to the Department of State (DOS is the folks that issue visa). The guys at the border are from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). DHS has not changed their rules regarding pregnant women. What this means is that once you have a visa, you can approach the border and indicate you want to enter the USA to give birth and you will most likely be allowed in, provided you can show evidence that you can pay your hospital bills. Many people travelled to have their babies even at the height of the pandemic.

The real challenge is getting the visa in the first place due to the rule change by the department of state. If you are visibly pregnant, it will be very difficult for you to prove that your primary aim of travel is not to give birth in the usa. If you decide to directly apply for a medical visa, you'll need all the evidence in this world to show you have critical medical complications that cannot be handled in Nigeria or any other neighbouring country resulting in your need to travel to the USA. The officer may also need correspondence from the usa doctor/hospital showing they are aware of the complications and are willing to handle your case. You then have to show adequate proof that you can pay for the complicated pregnancy. It is not impossible to do but it will not be easy to pull off. Unless this Trump era rule is changed, getting visa for pregnant women will continue to be extremely difficult.

they only fly green card and citizens

Very true.

Someone i know with a B1/B2 visa was not carried by an European airline. They only carry green card holders and citizens.

People with B1/B2 visa should stay clear of European and British airlines.

People swear by JFK really.

The gust about scrutiny at JFK is new to me. I have not travelled in a while. Maybe you can ask people who have travelled recently especially those who have travelled for the purpose of birthing.

All the best.
Lochinny:
Thank you so much everyone for ur kind advice. I really appreciate. Pls I would appreciate if someone can help suggest a good POE now. I wanted to use JFK which was what I used the last time I traveled to have my baby and by God’s grace, it was a smooth experience. The agent I’m using adviced against it that currently people avoid JFK because they now scrutinize everyone. I’m now confused on what to use.. I have JFK, Dallas Fort Worth and Atlanta as my options. Pls which one do you guys suggest I use? Thank you

Yes the child becomes a citizen at birth.

Does the child become a citizen at birth?
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by pointednose: 9:07am On Mar 29, 2021
Thinking about your question again. You said you had a medical visa before, then you prepare just the way you prepared the last time..with doctor's correspondence and all.

There is also a good chance that questions concerning your last birth including bills will also be asked. So you need adequate preparation.

I am personally skeptical about medical visa at this time and also especially cos trump "cancelled" it, but never say never.

Pls I’ve been trying to book a flight and I’ve been seeing that flights are restricted for people with b1/b2 visa. Pls which airline accepts people with this visa.
Someone suggested Delta but I’m traveling with a child less than 2years and there’s no place on Delta site for under 2 years, means I have to pay for two adults. Pls I need your suggestions and help

This is not true.

Visa only allows you to the point of entry. One can still use a valid visa to the point of entry even a day to the expiry date
DanerNo1:

You can be sent back if your visa is not valid 6 months or more.

Had my appointment and my visa was approved. My second renewal since birthing. But the first was by Dropbox. I’m not pregnant by the way.
A lot of people were rejected. As usual there was a VO rejecting almost everyone and I was praying not to be sent there.
We were all standing in front of the VOs. I was the last on the queue. At some point it was a lady and I left there other people behind us were still taking finger prints. It was the lady’s turn but the VO directly in front of us asked me to come to him and he sent the lady to another VO. The VO who called on me wasn’t the one Viciously rejecting people but he just rejected the 3 People before me
My transcript:
VO: *cracks an initial joke and laughs
Me: *laughing even though I didn’t hear what he said

Me: good morning

VO : good morning, how are you today

Me: im ok , how about yourself?

VO: I’m great ... so why are you going to the US

Me: holiday

VO: how long?

Me: about 3 weeks

VO : where are you going

Me : *mentions name of city

VO: What’s the longest time you spent in the US

Me: 5months

VO: can you tell me about that?

Me: I was on an F1 visa, went as a Graduate student

VO: *cuts me short* was that a semester course ?

Me: no, it was a two year program , I Came home a lot at every chance I got

VO: You were missing home?

Me: yes.

VO: what school did you go?

Me;*******

VO: so what countries have you been to asides the US?

Me: Canada , UK, Dubai and the US.. oh sorry You Saïd asides the US..

VO: *laughs * yes cos I can see here that you have been to the US a gazillion multiple times ... so tell me about your last trip to the US?

Me: I travelled for a week, went on tour(mentioned some tourism attractions in the city I went) , did some shopping.

VO: you married?

Me: yes

VO : how many kids do you have?

Me: A cute little one

VO: are you traveling with your husband and child ?

Me: not at this time

VO: why?

Me: I need some me time really...

VO: *laughs* some me time?

Me: You know what I mean

VO : *laughs* yeah I do ... so what do you do for work?

Me: I’m a surgeon, I work at ***** I do **** surgeries, reconstruct bla bla (my comfort zone so I spent time there)

VO: are you visiting family?

Me: no I’m not

Vo placed my passport On the blue paper and my heart sunk. Then he says :

VO: I won’t be returning your passport at this time cos we have decided to give you A visa.

He brought out white paper.

Hé was friendly but more friendly with the 2 people He had rejected just before me. So I was nervous. I was worried also cos for every approval there were like 10 rejections. Most approvals were renewals.

This was my longest us visa interview. I don’t know why. thank God for everything

A couple of states in the USA are opening up gradually and even allowing in-person gatherings of up to 200.
Even live events of 500 indoors are available.

Texas has even gone rogue and opened 100%

Those planning to travel for vacations can start fixing up summer periods.

I don't have info on conferences, but I am sure they will start announcing soon.

Then we wait on US Embassy in NG to also announce the full resumption of interview appointments.

Why she was traveling, why Nclex, is the exam only written in the US? Then financial questions, about who was sponsoring her traveling etc. Also, her family ties to Nigeria.

They asked why she wanted to write Nclex and she said it was going to help her with her career development. That the qualification is highly coveted in Nigeria etc. They also asked why US?... she responded most of the centers around the would are currently closed due to Covid19.

Thanks.

Hello,

I'm not really conversant with the document conversion process. I advised her to apply here by choosing a center and then apply for the Visa. The interview was straightforward also, because she told them she was going to write an exam and not so many questions was asked mainly because most of the alternative centers are still closed.

Not many questions asked:
- What the hubby does and how many staff he has as per self employed
- What wifey does
- Purpose of travel
- Where in US they plan to visit.

Finish...Visa approved.

Me: Hey Good afternoon, how’s it going?
CBP: I’m doing good, where are you coming from?
Me: Lagos Nigeria
CBP: purpose of visit
Me: Business and Visiting my Elder Brother
CBP: How long are you staying for
Me: 3 weeks

She asked me to remove my face mask and captured me
Cbp: Apart from the last time you visited the US, have you been to the US before?

Me: No.
Cbp stamps my passport for 6months.

I went to baggage claim and was referred to Agriculture specialists. men those guys drilled me

CBP: Do you have any fruits or meat?
Me: Nope (I didn’t know my Mum packaged garden egg and Yam for my Elder Brother), the cbp checked and saw garden egg, yam and ungrounded Egusi.
He told a white CBP lady to depose all the Egusi and the reason was because I didn’t grind it.
He asked me where I did covid test , I said in a private Laboratory in Benin City Nigeria, then he said some Nigerians pay 50k and get fake covid Report from the airport, as I was about replying he said I shouldn’t bother to argue about it so he doesn’t take it further and his friend who is a Nigerian told him.
The CBP guy said he would have fined me $300 for bringing those stuffs but this is gonna be like a warning.
He scanned my passport and told me to go.

There are currently no appointments in Lagos. You may need to wait a little and see if new dates will be opened up while you keeping checking about 2 to 3 times everyday.

Also words on the street is that there are appointments available in Abuja, with September being the first available date. You may check it out if that will be a viable option for you.
