Governor Okorocha who made revelation at the Imo State capital, gave two conditions; if President Muhammadu Buhari declines to seek a re-election and if 10 million Nigerians endorse him. The Imo state governor also said that, as a child, the north gave him education and secured his future. He said he was born of Igbo patronage, raised by the north and empowered by the west, hence, he needed nothing more than to be a detribalised Nigerian. The influential poliician and chairman of APC Governors Forum, also said that he is in politics not for personal aggrandisement but for the sheer glory of it and for the reason that he came to serve selflessly. Mobile telecommunications firm, MTN Nigeria, has sacked about 280 of its workers across its different operational units, according to Punch. It was learnt that the affected workers left the company on Friday, after they were asked to voluntarily turn in their resignations. The sack affected mostly employees who had served for a minimum of five years and more. It was further learnt that some of the affected employees had been with the company since its inception in the country in 2001 and that the management felt that their knowledge of the industry had become obsolete. Speaking to Punch, a source in the company said this on Monday, “MTN offered a package to workers who have stayed for five years and above a voluntary exit package because it felt that most of them are not able to contribute much to the development of the company going forward. “If, for instance, you have kids, you can’t compare the knowledge you have about the mobile phone with what they can do about telecoms services; they are more dexterous; so, the company wants to hire younger people who can keep pace with evolving trends in the industry instead of retaining those whose knowledge is limited to what they knew 16 years ago.” The company had communicated its plans to the workers and offered that those who embraced the voluntary exit package would be generously compensated, but was forced to include some long-standing members of staff when it could not meet the 25 per cent cut in personnel that it had planned. Spiritual leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari will not die in office as predicted by some people. He disclosed this in Calabar when cautioning those praying and wishing Buhari dead to desist, saying God purposely chose him as president of Nigeria to wage war against corruption. According to Olumba, Buhari’s government has succeeded in the battle to retrieve Nigeria’s stolen money; but that he must work towards peace and unity of the country. “When we said at the onset of the administration that those who stole Nigeria’s money will return all, many did not believe us,” he said. “But the president must pray for God to lead him to apply the recovered loot to the benefit of all Nigerians. Residents of Owheologbo community, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, were Sunday night, thrown into confusion as one person was reportedly killed and six houses, including a secondary school building, were razed following a row over a girlfriend. Though details of the incident were still sketchy at press time, community sources said the deceased, simply identified as Mr. Dennis, was killed at about 9:30p.m. in his mother’s residence. It was learned that angry youths on getting wind of the incident, mobilised and set fire to houses, cars and other properties of members of the family of those who participated in the killing. A source said the assailants had fled the community to avoid lynching by the mob. Council boss reacts Speaking on the development yesterday, Chairman, Isoko North Local Government Area, Mr. Emmanuel Egbabor, confirmed that the incident was related to issues concerning a woman. He said: “When I was called, I alerted the police and soldiers, who immediately moved into the community.” While disclosing that the security agents had taken the corpse away from the roadside to a mortuary, he said: “The Army and police have helped to restore peace in the community. I have advised them to carry out proper investigation into the incident.” Contacted, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka, confirmed the incident, saying “I have heard so too. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide under the supreme command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (De Great) received the greatest shock of their lives during the weekend when their attention was drawn to a publication made by some of the Nigerian Newspapers which had it that Ohaneze Ndigbo said they would meet with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and persuade him to drop Biafra agitation and embrace the restructuring of Nigeria. Well, we know that these old men are nothing but chameleons and political jobbers wanting to use Biafra restoration as a mantra to get political benefits but IPOB is always wiser than them. Ohaneze Ndigbo is a socio-political and cultural organization of the Igbo nation, a tribe in the upland of Biafra. Although, IPOB is not bothered concerning the visit of those cynical political predators and desperadors to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (De Great), because we are completely confident that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will in-turn deliver them from the evil shackles of mental slavery and inferiority complex currently dragging them to perdition. We can attest to the fact that he would educate them on the reasons why if Biafrans do not restore Biafra now, we and our generation unborn would be doomed forever. Meanwhile, IPOB worldwide wants to sound it as a warning to anybody who still parades himself as a member of Ohaneze Ndigbo, should to the best of his interest stay away from the issue of Biafra restoration or have himself to blame at the consequences. Ohaneze Ndigbo kept mute while our people were massacred and their lifeless bodies buried in shallow graves by the Nigerian armed forces. We committed no crime, our demand was simple, the restoration of Biafra. They should go ahead and cowardly keep mute as IPOB vehemently stands for Biafra restoration. Ohaneze Ndigbo should bear it in mind that its remaining reputation would be decimated if they continue thus. Ohaneze Ndigbo is at liberty to support Biafra restoration under Nnamdi Kanu if they so wish, because we are not going back on our resolve, or they continue to cynically play Nigerian politics with the destiny of our descendants against the wish of their children. IPOB will no longer condone reckless statements against Biafra restoration from anybody no matter how highly placed such an individual or group may be. Henceforth, any person or group of persons making any reckless statement against Biafra restoration is making such against Nnamdi Kanu who spent nearly two years in detention for Biafra, Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawuisi, Chidiebere Onwudiwe and George Onyeibe and other thousands of IPOB agitators who are still in prisons across Nigeria, against IPOB members massacred in Aba, Igweocha, Asaba, Onitsha, Nkpor and Enugu respectively. IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu is not agitating for the new ruse called the restructuring of Nigeria but total restoration of Biafra because Biafrans have rejected Nigeria. It is better for the likes of Ohaneze Ndigbo to as a matter of urgency throw away cowardice and demand for Biafra referendum or stand at the risk of being the scape goats that will be used to test-run the voracious nature of IPOB venom when the time comes. For the interest of Ohaneze Ndigbo who do not know the next line of action of IPOB, now that Nnamdi Kanu is released on the obnoxious bail conditions which is tantamount to a ripple of sadism to IPOB Highest Command, Ohaneze Ndigbo who have become a self-styled mediator between Nigeria government and IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu should advise Nigerian government to let Biafra go for Biafrans and restructure Nigeria for Nigerians. Biafrans do not kick against restructuring of Nigeria for Nigerians. At the moment, IPOB under Nnamdi Kanu is still peaceful exploring all the options of diplomacy by hitting the corridors of world powers with diplomatic requisitions and political persuasions for the restoration of Biafra. If Ohaneze Ndigbo is not ready to stand at what their children stand for, they should respect themselves and keep quiet in the face of tyranny targeted at wiping out all Igbos from the face of the earth. Do Ohaneze Ndigbo know that the only justice awaiting over 10 Million Biafrans who were massacred from 1945 Jos riot till today of Fulani herdsmen attacks on Biafraland is total restoration of Biafra from any external domination of our land? Ohaneze Ndigbo should know that further stay in Nigeria by Biafrans whether restructured on not is tantamount to eternal doom for our descendants. Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has said operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), found only his wife’s clothes and shoes, when they searched his apartment in the Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos. Last month, Obi’s apartment was raided following the discovery of over $43million in a neighbouring apartment (Flat 7B) in the building. Obi’s house was one of the many searched by the anti-graft agency. The EFCC had obtained a search warrant, to search all the flats in the building, amid a possibility that there could be more cash stashed away in another apartment. Obi said at The Platform organized by the Covenant Christian Centre on May Day: “Ask those who searched it. I was abroad, they said they wanted to search my house, I sent the key, and they searched my whole apartment and I can tell you the only thing they found. “They said this man doesn’t live here. It was only his wife’s clothes and shoes that we saw, we didn’t see anything belonging to him. “I have said it to Nigerians, Peter Obi wears only black shoes, and I have two pairs of it, and I travel with it. Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has expressed delight over the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, from prison. Fani-Kayode also took a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari’s health in his Twitter post on Friday night. He wrote: “The day that Nnamdi Kanu was released from prison was the day was too ill to go to the mosque. God is faithful!” Kanu’s bail condition was perfected at the presence of the Chairman, South East Senate caucus and former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, a Jewish High Chief Priest, Immanuu-El Shalom and a Chartered Accountant residing in Abuja, Tochukwu Uchendu.
