The local content policy of the federal government was designed to empower Nigerians in the management of their affairs in the absence of expatriates. This INFORMED THE PURPOSE FOR THE training of Nigerian graduates and students in the use of sophisticated software like PDMS and HYSYS for engineering designs.
Aspen HYSYS is the most popular and industry driven software used for process design, especially designs related to the oil and gas industry. In fact process engineering equals HYSYS. While PDMS handles graphical and catalogue based plant design from conception to decommissioning.
HYSYS handles process modeling from the oil/gas well, to the NGL plant or to the refinery and distribution.HYSYS ALSO HANDLE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CHEMICAL REACTION.Presently it is being used by SHELL, CHEVRON, NNPC, EXXON-MOBIL AND many oil servicing companies.
