Pepperoni001:Thanks, and may yours come easily too. To the question. I do not believe in any particular material. I didn't read any material with full concentration. I glanced through ieltsbuddy and ieltsliz but never dwelt on them. There are many materials and they will all end up confusing you. My strategy was to first test myself with the past questions in each section. For listening: After doing my first set of listenings, I discovered I had issues with the multiple choice questions and the A-G parts. If u have started practice, you will know these parts. My first practice, I scored 27. I felt bad and practised frequently including midnights at work. I checked how to listen for the multiple choice questions on different sites but I didn't get any useful tips.i watched videos and all I got was try to listen attentively, like I play while doing it.. With more practice and trial of different strategies, I discovered my problem was not having time to read the options and digesting it well. Any question I understand the options come so easily especially those with options as single words or a phrase. So I prioritised my attention to ensuring I understood the options within the short period.. I improved a great deal. And started scoring between 34 and 38. Most times 35 on dot. Reading: I heard about skimming from a friend and tried it and it didn't work perfectly. I heard about reading the full passage, but it's time consuming as I'm quite compulsive with ensuring I'm doing the right thing. I read sentences again and again to be sure I'm picking the right answers. Then I decided to combine both strategies depending on the form which the questions appear. I skim some while I read others fully.. And it worked for me. On exam day, I finished 11 minutes before time. Will reply speaking and writing later. Local man is sleepy.i just got back from work PS: At a point in my reading practice, discovered the last passages are technical with 13 questions under them. I always had just 20 to 24 minutes left for that aspect. initially, I don't finish up. So I decided to time myself for that part alone. I did about 7 passages from that part alone under 20 minutes. initially, I was not meeting up with time but later, I started doing well. writing: I have always loved writing. And I believed I wouldn't have any issues. This is the only part I read the material to about 60 percent completion. I chose writing amongst other modules IELTS gave options to choose from, because there's a format to writing in IELTS that must be obeyed. I must say the teaching is well broken down especially for beginners. However, it could threaten to reduce your standards a bit especially if u were a top writer. The other challenge I faced with writing, especially task 2 ,was the time. it's too short and you might not have time to proofread your work. speaking: I rehearsed a speaking section once with a friend and discovered it is just a regular interview format that I'm used to. I answer questions everyday from patients. I checked the Cambridge questions from time to time and noticed I could answer most of the questions intelligently and fast without hesitation. A day before my speaking test, I watched Liz's video on YouTube. I learnt few more things. I will say they were useful but I wasn't comfortable with all. Like using a contraction for name. instead of "my name is", it's best to say "my name's"... I wasn't comfortable with the use, cos I wasn't used to it at all. I dropped it before getting to bite my tongue that day. I use other contractions but never used that. In summary, all the long write up is saying is that you need to develop your own format. Don't dwell on anyone's format. Simply understand yourself and go for what works for you. 11 Likes |

Hello house, I am a single Mum of 29years old with 3kids and a bank statement of 10m. I have a Bsc certificate from a federal university in Nigeria, I am currently writing ACCA exams but not done yet. I have only successfully written 7 papers in ACCA, I also have a diploma certificate in accountant and business which I got from ACCA. I am very smart and hard working, pls how feasible is it for me to relocate to Canada with my 3 kids....can anyone put me through the process & the best way to apply...? Pls note, I have an online business I run so I do not have any relevant work experience. 1 Like |

Chriistyann: you're on the right track, all you need to do is get your IELTS exam done and max-out. basic requirements, Minimum of 3 years Job Experience, 2 or more certificates, IELTS: Listening: 7.5, Listening: 7.8, Reading: 8.0, Written: 8.0 Proof of funds: Min N7M. with this you should have up to 474/475 in your crs score for fsw 1 Like |

@bishopbusayo1 , good afternoon. Sorry to disturb you o, I saw from the previous thread that you mentioned you finished from Mapoly and processed your Wes. I’d really really appreciate if you briefly explain what’s the process is like. My sis has an ND from Mapoly and and. B.sc from another school. What’s the cost and the process for ND transcript. I’ll really appreciate your feedback. Thanks in advance. |

mamakendra: First what is your spouse highest qualifications? Is he also going to take the ielts test? Those are for additional point thou You as the primary applicant, you score will be around 440 because of your age And you can try both pnp and federal For pnp your occupation has to be in line with what you study. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by BurnaBurna: 5:34pm On Mar 29, 2021 |
ACCA up to F9 should surely get you two or more certificates. But people have also had success evaluating F1 - F4 as additional degree (for two or more certificates). I think you need a minimum of 1 year experiences for FSW, maybe your NYSC can suffice ? Depending on what you do online/how you run your online business, that may also count as additional work experience to increase your points. By the way, you also need to max out IELTS (probably a good first step). Chriistyann: 1 Like |

mamakendra: “My occupation/experience is not in line with my study” Not even your msc? First your age has reduce your point even with the PhD that you have And for pnp, It is very important that your field of study has to be line with your occupation I will advice that your husband evaluation his degree and take the ielts test to boost your score You can be in the Express entry pool and hopefully get pick by any provinces and also the EE score draw point can drop to your score. Just be in the pool to be on a safe side. |

Chriistyann: You have a good age at the moment- by the time you are 30 years - your score will be reducing. Evaluate ur BSc with the diploma cert you got from ACCA - these give u two or more cert points Start preparing for ielts - and max it out in all sessions The above are the first things you need to do. You may have to think through all your work experience within the last 10 years and see which you can use. Start reading from page 1, check cic website for additional information and use the search button above where necessary. All the best 4 Likes |

Please guys, forgive me if my question will sound a bit stupid. I was wondering eh, if I get in the EE pool for FSW, and I get an ITA about one month before I clock 30 and I eventually was able to submit a full profile to apply for PR about two weeks after getting the ITA (before I actually become 30), with my CRS score being affected once I clock 30, two weeks later, will the application for PR be rescinded? Assuming the new CRS (after turning 30) is less than the cut-off score for the last draw that got me the ITA. Thanks |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by BurnaBurna: 7:57pm On Mar 29, 2021 |
I think your score only gets calculated twice: on ITA and eAPR. Once you pass the eAPR, your score gets locked. if your eAPR is before you clock 30, you're safe, (i think). Hello house, please I'm new here. I would like to know if anyone here processed transcript from LASU or made a late collection of certificate. I need advice on how to go about it, I was at the main campus today but was informed my 100L school fees receipt could not be found on the system and as such I would have to pay for it again, this receipt is from 2005. |

Chriistyann: Concerning your work experience. What is your business about? If it’s falls under one of the eligible NOCs, you can claim self employed. Read up on the self employed criteria on the IRCC website. |

Skidee: her job does not have to be a white-collar job. she should check if her business is listed on the NOC category from here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/find-national-occupation-code.html |
