Is Gumi not saying the Government should negotiate with the armed fulani heardsmen and bandits? Did the FG invite Boko Haram for negotiation or not? Did the FG under Yardua grant amnesty to MEND? Did the FG under GMB negotiate with Avengers?

Well, let's watch the Nigerian military crush the unknown Gunmen in the south east then cool
The biggest mistake Yardua did, was granting Amnesty to Niger Delta militants. Is there peace Is there development Is there still militancy
Criminals should be treated has criminals simple.

Video of the chanting gunmen
Similar scene where those gunmen overran the US embassy in the movie "Secret soldiers of Benghazi". They've tasted Victory last night and will launch more daring attack, next significant institution to be attacked will be the state Governments.
In all I ask who is in charge of this country? PMB travelled and didn't hand over to the VP, it's Garba Shehu and co that seem to be steering the affairs of the country.

What about the mistake between the FG led by GMB and Avengers? Nigerian military wants to use force against unknown Gunmen, now we are seeing the results.

For once someone asked the right question. Where is the president? For years we have identified the chief problem and have since bailed. A man that turned on the leadership of the elite intelligence agency of this country because of religion, waited until too late to change the CDS and Service Chiefs, turns a blind eye to the menace of Fulani herdsmen, its ascetic to the worst core and the list goes on. This is what you get when the mandate of the people are not respected but mediocrity of the highest order foisted on some of the most intelligent human beings on earth who have no choice but to revolt. No Garba Shehu and his twin who routinely speaks condescendingly on Nigerians are not in charge but they are merely a symptom of everything that is wrong with Nigeria. The defence ministry, the CDS and Service Chiefs are basically running the show.

Not exactly. Boko haram or ISWAP does not have freedom of action uncontested. Whatever battle space exists is firmly in Nigeria's favor. Experts know that. Nigeria's territorial integrity is intact.

We need to make positive changes, with time people would see the sincerity in action by the government, the idea of negotiation is a no no, infact beat any agitation with overwhelming force till they surrender, while government using sincere action starts development and policies from the grassroot, which if you ask me is the herdsmen issues.....the fg gave a directive that the list of violent herdsmen/bandits been prosecuted or already prosecuted should be released, till date I haven't seen any such list, this action/inaction has already spoken a lot.

Political leadership is the problem of Nigeria.

The entire South East region is just slightly larger than half of Borno state, it will take two sides less than 3 months to turn the whole region into wastelands. Turning millions of people into IDPs with several thousands dead. Normal economic activities will stop and the ordinary people will only be concerned with how to survive and what to eat.
Death and destruction isn't what any reasonable person should hope for. The southeast elders should call their youths to order before it is too late and it is about to be too late.
By now, merchants of war would have been contacting some of the militants, offering them resources and hopes that they can win, they are only after their own profits and will move on to the next conflict as soon as this is over with.

The south east agitators are aiming for the moon and if nothing hit the stars that's to say the least is Igbo presidency 2023. The elite are not stupid.

Nigeria does need political justice. Enemies abound both foreign and domestic willing to exploit the fault lines in Nigeria. No nation can afford to be in a state of perpetual conflict.

That said the Federal Government of Nigeria is a humongous powerful entity with the executive powers of the president far reaching politically, economically and militarily both as commander-in-chief and head of government. The Nigerian Armed Forces for one is not your typical weak Army in terms of strength, training, weaponry and armour, technology, funding, officer cadre, cohesion, mobilization and exposure. This Army is one of the only thing next to civilization still remaining and holding Nigeria together. If you want to destroy Nigeria you have to first destroy its military and that none of the domestic or geo-political foes in the region can do. Won't happen.

The only thing I saw was armless civilians that were shot dead by the militaries and lots of properties been burnt by the military.

Is so painful no one will pay for the massacres in Odi and Zaki biam

Odi and Zaki Biam is a sad story. However the events there should serve as a warning to agitators everywhere. When the Nigerian military fully turns its attention on you it doesn't end well.

But you have to understand the powers of the presidency of Nigeria akin to that of the United States under the constitution. A sitting president of Nigeria has full immunity while in office.

Those are different from what's presently going on with IPOB and ESN. In Zaki biam for example, it was a retaliation for the killing of about 19 soldiers by a militia group. What's happening today involving ESN is no agitation against the military. They got no business with the military, what they have business with is the fulanis and their rampaging herdsmen killing people on another man's soil. Biafra can't just sit and watch, that's why they set up ESN just like oduwa republic set up Amotekun. The ESN aren't killing Nigerian soldiers and will never commit such heinous atrocity.

Kingsley Nweze in Abuja

The wreckage of the Nigerian Air Force fighter jet that went missing last week may have been found in Bama, Borno State, an authoritative military source told THISDAY yesterday.

The source said it was found with the body of one of the pilots intact. The pilot was Flight Lieutenant Chapele Ebiakpo. He, however, said the body of the other pilot, Flight Lieutenant John Abolarinwa, is still being searched for, explaining that troops on the ground have been asked to intensify their search.

The Air Force had declared the Alpha Jet fighter aircraft, NAF 475, missing on March 31, saying a few days later that it might have crashed.

The terrorist group, Boko Haram, had claimed responsibility for the crash but the military refuted the claim.

THISDAY source said last night that the jet, which took off from Maiduguri Airport crashed five minutes after take-off at an estimated altitude of 15,000 feet, explaining that at that height no missile by Boko Haram could have hit and brought it down.

“Given what we have seen, the jet could not have been hit by any missile. It must have been caused by a technical fault that would be revealed by ongoing investigations,” he said.

The jet, according to Air Force spokesman, Commodore Edward Gabkwet, was on an interdiction mission in support of ground troopsas part of the ongoing counterinsurgency operations in the North-eastwhen it lost contact with the radar.

“The loss of radar contact occurred at about 5:08 p.m. on 31 March 2021,” he said in a statement last week.

The reality of military service and combat. Gentlemen you have done your country proud.

Meanwhile the president and commander-in-chief is still missing or in hospital if you believe.

Can you really fathom that. Your worthy fighter pilots are in harm's way and a combat jet down without complete status of events and no word.

Sounds compelling but you really in all honesty want to believe what you wrote is true or its not a disguise for a loftier objective. Think again. Maybe you help us understand how attacking policemen on duty and unarmed service personnel is helping the cause you articulate.

The police have being useless since time immemorial, theyre a product of colonial establishment to enforce the White man's inanities. If you like sink the entire US defence budget on the Police as currently constituted it will go down the drain, no proper succession plan in place, corruption etc are a minute part of the problem bedeviling the Police. The Armed forces also have their own problems but atleast they have a semblance of an institution with proper command and control in their hierarchy and take training of their personnel seriously.
Takeaway the poor weapon handling of NSCDC personnels. I see no much difference between the NPF and NSDC except that the later tend to be more clean/tidy and decent in their appearance than the NPF.

Military budget is always like that in every country.
Nigeria police ideology need to be changed, from the police academy and police college.
The police killing Mohammed Yusuf, contributed to what Bokoharam is today and herdsmen issues fall under police job.
