I agree boss. Na Accounting 101 be this. Stakeholder satisfaction. But it's not always an immediate focus.

Facebook bought WhatsApp almost a decade now, and they have intentionally made zero dollar from it. If they start putting ads in WhatsApp next year, they will be on their way to making money from it. If they don't, they already have WhatsApp in the bag as portfolio.

Are you sure they intentionally dont what to monetize it, or they have not figured how? Just like Twitter that hasn't figured how to monetize its space very well. Or even Google with Youtube. I believe they are using whatsapp to harvest loads of data which they would sell. The amount of data on whatsapp is too juicy to look away from.

I did some research and decided to settle for ARM mutual funds. I'll like to know if anyone here has used them and whay the experience is like.

My major concern is ease of redemption and customer service. (The latter is part of the reason I'm not using Stanbic).

A lot of people (including me) have been impacted positively from what has been posted here. Many people are now more finacially savvy. I would prefer that we keep sharing info for people to benefit than to sucumb to the threat of big brother attitude from the Nigerian government

I'm on certain investment threads on Reddit and people they even screenshot their entire portfolio and post daily. I understand the concern of security, that's why you can choose to be anonymous also.

one is a ruthless and shameless capitalism while the other is a compassionate capitalist...the fight is over the expected rise in demand for sugar from April 13 to May 13 .
.the ruthless one want price to move to 30k per bag to cash out from 18 k ....the other wants price stability at 18k and warn dealer with revork of dealership..

I don’t even see the link. What has Buhari’s government got to do with what people are posting on a faceless forum? Abi is it from this forum that SEC gets its info from? Or maybe some of us work for SEC and Buhari government

Ecobank is recovering from the hole created by Oceanic bank, they should fly in the next 2 years. They made revenue of over N500 billion but could not turn N50 billion to profit

Assuming you bought GTB share as say 30 naira per share last or early this year. With 1M, you would have 33,333 units of shares.
Dividends for GTB was 3naira per share, so if you multiply 33,333 by 3 naira, you will have about 100k.
100k of 1M is 10%

Lol... the matter is not exactly straight forward like that. I used 30 naira per share because GTB has generally hovered between 25-33 naira in the last 1 year.
The amount of dividends they decide to pay per share is also outside your control as the bank management decide what to pay and you won't know until the end of financial year.
The value of the share could also have gone to 50 naira or to 10 naira. At 50 naira, you will be standing at 40% profit, at 10 naira, you will be at a 33% loss.
I think it is always hard to compare fixed income vs a volatile market like the stock market.
