Visiting the less than three-kilometre hilltop of Oke Maria (Mary's Hill), for the first-timer, is not a child’s play as one needs to take a break along the journey to the mountain top in at least one or two resting places. But despite this, visitors keep thronging this sacred hill, where prayers are answered and solutions are provided to most challenges.

The Oke Maria hill has become an annual pilgrimage centre to Catholic and non-Catholic every February. Visitors from Nigeria and abroad come to pay homage to the Blessed Virgin every second week of February. This reminds me of our visit to Olumirin Waterfall, Erin-Ijesha. It was fun climbing the hill to the top, but no longer funny on our way down. The ladies who managed to get to the top started crying, claiming they couldn't descend. We just had to encourage them & told them not to look at the seemed-bottomless ground. While this was going on, I was having just a prayer point in my mind - "God, if you could help me get down unhurt & meet my family in peace, I wouldn't try climbing a hill so high again in my life" . I think my signature 'simplyfacts was here' should still be on the old walls
