1. Dawanau Market
This is unarguably the largest foodstuff market in Africa. This is undisputed because of the volume of business activities that takes place at the market daily.

In this market, goods are transported to different countries which includes Togo, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Ghana South Africa, Libya and other African countries.
Goods mostly sold there are Beans, Soyabeans, Sorghum, Moringa seed and leaf, Sesame seed, Hibiscus flower (Zobo), Bambara, Dried tomatoes etc.

Dawanau market is very popular  both in the country and outside Nigeria. It is not only serving the state’s economy, it is serving those of other states, countries in Africa and also global economy.

2. Enlemu Market
This is a local market where you can get all sorts of fashion accessories ranging from shoes, bags, cosmetics.
And it also has a food market in it where you can find all kinds of foods and fruits.

3. Kantin-Kwori Market    
Kantin Kwari Market is the biggest textile market in Africa; It is Kano Textile Market and is located in Kantin Kwari Market.
This market is known mainly for Clothing, Lifestyle, Sample Materials and offering Ankara Textiles, English Laces, and George Materials.

4 Kofar Wanbai Market
A lot of things are sold here ranging from clothing (second hand/Okirika) to foodstuff, meats hang from hooks, meat from all kinds of animals, cows, goats, Dead eyes looking up at you in some kind of weird expectation as if asking you to take them home, away from this place.
Plastics, Shoes, Bags and many other things are sold in the market.

5. Galadima Market
General market is a general market and enterprises, it consists of traders from different ethnic groups in Nigeria. products like Generator, Grinding Machines, pal oil, are sold there.

6 Kurumi Market
This market is an excellent place to purchase locally woven materials, local textiles, dyed materials, sculptures (mostly animals like giraffe, elephants, ducks etc), carved stones, silver jewelries, beaded jewelries, jewelry box, leather (cow hide mostly - but genuine leather all the same) shoes, bags, wallets, stuffed animals, local musical instruments (best used for decorations), ostrich feathered shoes, bags and lots of goodies.

You would also see a lot of fresh fruit with their palatable scents.
Make sure you bargain all the time. The actual price is usually between 40 - 60% of what they initially tell you.
If you are going there is better you get someone who lives there or who can speak Hausa to follow you, let him do the bargaining for you. Pay in Naira, though a few shops will take foreign currency (Euro/ Dollar), but it is cheaper when you pay in Naira.
This is a very huge market and it is a market where you can exhibit your bargain ability. It is a busy and rough place to go If you are from any western countries that like malls and are fussy you probably won't like it.

7. Rimi Market
Rimi market, popularly known as the Sabon Gari market in Kano State
It is an open-air market particularly known for discounted household items, including Foodstuff, Fruits, vegetables, Pepper.

 

8. Yankura
This Is a large and expansive market
Located at Ahmadu Bello way.
The market consists of traders from different ethnic groups in Nigeria.
You can buy Bags, shoes, chemical and provisions in wholesales in the market.
