I will bring news of every state that is part of DAWN COMMISSION to this thread. The news section will include sports, politics and others while what i call developments is anything that take us closer to becoming modernized(to building modern cities and at large Region) and all and not your regular mediocrity. I won't bring news of few km open gutter road news here. And most news i will bring here are such that matters to all of the members of Western Nigeria. You can do well to use the "follow topic" option.

Do you mean the expected sale of Shoprite to Persianas Group led by Tayo Amusan? Excellent piece of business by Persianas in my opinion and excellent development as I personally like Shoprite and feel it has potentials to be bigger than it is in Nigeria with the right 'tweaks'.

Nice thread by the way.

Shoprite sells Nigerian business to property company – Report
By Dennis Erezi
14 April 2021 | 11:26 am

A Nigerian property company will be taking over Shoprite’s local business in Nigeria, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing multiple sources.

Persianas is buying Shoprite’s Nigerian business after the South African retailer decided to retreat from other African markets.

Shoprite, with more than 2,300 stores across Africa, is awaiting regulatory approval on the sale of its Nigerian supermarket operation, though no further details about the deal have been disclosed.

The company in August 2020 announced that it will be exiting the Nigerian market after over 15 years.

Shoprite said that its business in Nigeria operated under Retail Supermarkets Nigeria Limited “may be classified as a discontinued operation.”

Yorubas are by far the biggest and most humble achievers in Nigeria. The revelations on this thread will only shock our ignorant chest-beating "developer" Brothers always obsessed with comparing d1cks with Yoruba rather than humbly trying to learn from a people far ahead of them and far more factually successful beyond empty noise.

Yet it won't shock others, especially Northerners, who know what Yorubas really are and the fact that they are by far the biggest and most productive component part of Nigeria.

OUR VISION
“If we do our business well and make sound investment decisions, our success will drive benefits throughout society and create fundamental change for the better within Nigeria.”

Tayo Amusan - Chairman, Persianas Group
With more than 25 years of experience doing business in Nigeria, mainly in the real estate sector, Tayo founded Persianas and has been instrumental in its growth and continued success since then. He serves on the board of several Nigerian companies including African Paints Nigeria Limited and is also the Chairman of Resourcery Limited.

With all their developments, particularly those in the retail and commercial sectors, the Persianas team set their goals to deliver sustainable, positive impacts. The major project to date is the world-class 'The Palms' shopping mall, which is rated to be the biggest such property in Nigeria, if not West Africa, becoming the benchmark for other developers in Nigeria and raising the quality standards in the Nigerian real estate market.

Our vision is to:

Benefit local employees and suppliers by raising business standards, growing skills and creating jobs.
Help develop the country's critical business, commercial and investment infrastructures.
Set benchmarks to elevate commercial real estate construction and management standards throughout the country.
Align developments to the aspirations of the local community and create a better built environment in Nigeria's towns and cities.
Accrue tax revenues to the Government.
Reliably deliver fair returns to our stakeholders, partners and investors retailing, asset management and sports management.

Get lost. SW thread about SW development for Yoruba interest. I purposely said what I did because of Yoruba-obsessed haters like you I knew would be reading, not minding their business, and waiting to comment here negatively and enviously.

So walk back out of the door same way you walked in as your mission is clear from your past posts like that below.

I don't care. Don't say stupid things and stay out of the way if you don't like how some Yorubas speak in response to those most obsessed with taunting, hating and competing with us of all the over 300 ethnic groups in Nigeria.

Yorubas should not be smiling with anyone right now. It is what the rest of Nigeria has shown us for our accommodating, liberal, kind and progressive nature many now take for weakness.

I understand you. What I was saying was that you shouldn't have involved other tribes in the thread so they won't use it as excuse to derail it

My guy, you need to understand that people who want to detail it will FIND a way to derail it no matter what. Stop having the mentality of over accommodating other people's feelings. That is what has gotten us into this mess in the first place. Let whoever's offended about Yoruba success cry to their mothers. Period.

Ondo state partners La Campaigne Resort to develop tourism.

This will include remodelling and modernization of Omi Eja, Alagbaka, Akure to a Yoruba/African themed world class park.

Araromi sea-side beach to become a world class resort. Where as same Araromi is linked to Lekki, just about 10-15 mins drive and a dual carriage road is Presently being constructed. The proposed Lagos-Calabar coastal railway will also be passing through Araromi.

Mare festival to be brought back.

Wonderful news.

I just hope successive governors of Ondo continue with this initiative and not toss it aside.

We need to model after Lagos by not abandoning projects made by previous administration.
