akin101: I am curious as to how developers and other career minded people source and keep remote jobs. I would like to ask remote job workers what their experience has been like getting and keeping remote work especially with different time zones, internet and other experiences.
If you are a remote job worker commenting on this thread, please do provide relevant information and include the following;
1. How long you have been doing remote work
Slightly over 12 months 2. Time Zone of Work/Nigerian Time 7AM-12AM (excluding side gigs)

Use your social media tools wisely, remember they are tools and you should use them as such. Also, you'll do a lot of learning and unlearning, so never feel ashamed when you don't know something. Always try to learn more and read more about it.

Hi, I understand you might be a startup but please, get a more convincing email. It doesn't really cost much to get a domain. While an email address doesn't necessarily match skills, it definitely indicates seriousness/dedication. And the absence of one is the first sign someone isn't registered. Now, only a very few people in diaspora would want to do such heavy projects with such a person. I could be wrong but being a 'diasporan' myself, I think I have a fair understanding of how skeptical we could be with such things. Best of luck. |

Now, I feel this thread could really bring out the opportunities of remote jobs. One thing, due to the low trust environment we live in, I don't think people would be comfortable enough to dish out very vital information. At the end, do your research. Stay up late to surf the Internet. Get a f**King vpn and see that you've been living in darkness and the world indeed shutout Nigeria or africa. Scammers shi. Legit hustle pays, but you have to pay the price..... |

1. More than 4 years 2. Different timezones, worked with UK, Indians, US, Australians. First they must know I'm a proud Nigerian, if they are unwilling to work with one then they should f*CK off with their money. 3. Depends on project, min $15 per hour. 4. Both temp and permanent. Currently on permanent with Automatic. 6. Software engineer 7. Hired, LinkedIn, Hubstaff talent, we work remotely, stackoverflow etc 8. Stable, been using MTN for a while. 9.If you are a Developer, build a lot of projects. Be able to defend your project. Clients will come knocking. Ignore those street peeps calling you Yahoo as long as you are legit The last part . I'm surprised no one has spoken about this yet. |
