They referred to him as a Unit Commander, don't misinform the public. The press release was simple and clear

IPOB are bent on turning the South East to South Sudan.

We will not allow it.

No wonder some say we are our worst enemies, Tufia.

Did you even spare a thought for the innocent women and children you are putting at risk? The innocent young men that will be picked up in raids against "unknown gunmen"?

Just like Late Dim Ojukwu did at first before later repenting & pledging allegiance to Nigeria after millions killed despite being better prepared with foreign allies, some of us still think ragtag ESN can use force to overwhelm Nigeria because we now have smartphones. Lol.

What was previously bad in the SE will end up worse. Imagine what would happen to the multi billion naira hospitality industry in Imo if this violence is sustained. You think anyone can go to the markets with the sound of bomb-laden fighter jets over their heads?

Hearken to the wise counsel of Biafran General Phillip Effiong upon surrendering to Nigeria after Nnamdi Kanu Ojukwu fled:

Biko it is profitable to be wise.

Which of the allied fought for Biafra? If Biafra have gotten the kind of support Nigeria did, they would have defeated Nigeria hands down. Apart from foreign interference, no region will defeat the great Igbo people in battle here in Nigeria

For me I don't think you are a Biafran or even an Igbo man, but I will respond, my brother Buhari and the Fulanis ( whether Buhari nor Atiku) don't care about Nigeria, they are on jihad to capture Africa, it has been in the oven for long, Buhari didn't want to die without achieving it, all of you supporting him and anything fulanis dish out are enemy of Nigeria and humanity, except you are just pretending to be someone else. So you conveniently forgot that it was the army and police that first attacked ESN in Orlu earlier on in the year?

ESN was minding its business, going after terrorist Fulani herders in eastern forests, until the Fulani army and police decided to commence killing these good ESN men

And for your information, UGM are not ESN.
Ok a proscribed Criminal organization was minding its business then the Federal Government came & disturbed them? I’m sorry for you confused ipob sympathizers.

I think it's high time PMB gave a presidential order declaring a state of emergency all over the SE and other affected SS states. There should be full fledged war against IPOB terrorists without delay. Heavy artillery weapons should be rolled into the region and used against the insurgents, as well as constant air bombardments from NAF.

If Igbos say they are looking for war, then so be it!

In the next few weeks, we don't want to hear that there's genocide in "Biafraland." You guys asked for it, and very soon you'll get served.

Unfortunate victims of an avoidable war

Actually this war is unavoidable! some sections of this country love the chains and locks of bondage which the north has foisted on every ethnic nation in this country but IPOB has said a resounding NO to bondage and slavery in their own land, the instrument of that bondage is Nigeria's security agencies which are 100% run and controlled by Fulanis who are alien to this nation, in order to confront the slave master ......you must, first of all, take off your chains.........the army is the "chain" of bondage and the police is the" padlocks"......DSS is of course the "keys". this is a political and military strategy at its best..........strategy students will study this conflict in the future.!! what is the strategy of MNK and IPOB..........?

We should be very careful what we support or permit inspite of the clear provocations from a compromised federal Govt.

At no time should we support the indescrimate killing of soldiers/police when war has not been declared.

It is a sure path to perfidy.

The problem I have with this your view is that due to our chronic cowardice the typical Nigerian will never be bold to censure and condemn the government when they commit evil but will readily blame the defenseless victim.........where was your outrage when hundreds of IPOB members were killed at nkpor in may 30th 2016.........where was your outrage when the aerm killed nearly 1000 shias in Zaria?

Frankly if you go round the region and engage people you will understand why there should be a heightened concern about all

A vast majority of people, not just in the region, but everywhere in the world are against violence of any kind.
But if your innocent loved one is killed just because he is tribally linked to a group, supports them verbally during a beer parlor banter,or even just wearing the color of the group,or worse still just being in the wrong place at d wrong time;even as a priest or pastor, you may harden your heart and have some sort of sympathy or support for that group, particularly when you realize it's not just your own family member that was so painfully killed, but other innocent members of some other families and that it was not a one off incident, but a pattern of deliberate targeting of an ethnic group by government security agencies, encouraged directly or indirectly(by not holding any erring security agent to account for such extra-judicial killings).
Tact and leadership is what is required at this moment in time.Sadly, both are grossly deficient,if not totally lacking in those in such positions of authority now.

I am afraid this will escalate, if Igbos want to be violent they can be brutal. Any soldier or police from the south serving in the South East or SS should not allow himself to become sacrificial lamb, let Fulani officers man those checkpoints, be warned.

You hit the nail on the head my brother! a careful socio-psychological analysis of the Igbo man will show uncommon zealotry in his essence, going by previous trajectory of similar struggle for freedom, unfortunately many of the leading and prominent commanders of ESN will go down but watch out for those in the rank and file now, those who are actually doing the real dirty work, they will form the nucleus of a far more formidable army of the near future........hmmm Naija is in deeper trouble than we can all imagine.

A look at the Ambazonian and Taliban wars is truly instructive.......las las America has abandoned the mission in Afghanistan, in Cameroun, the Federal forces have lost 80% of ambazonia territory to the ambazonian forces.........a war of attrition will not help nigeria.........convoke a National conference or risk losing it all.......this is my candid advise to our local colonialsts, the fulanis!!

I agree more could have been done, but aren't projects like 2nd Niger bridge, federal road projects etc. part of Reconstruction?

Between GEJ and this administration, who has done/is doing more infrastructural projects in the SE? Tell yourself the truth.

We need peace to develop. Any war now will set any region several decades back.
