This was based on agreement between him and the ministry of works years back to execute the construction of those roads in exchange for tax relief. Dangote embarked on those projects because of their importance to his businesses. He's not being given free tax relief. The Govt should encourage more of these. Let these big corporations build infrastructures under Govt supervision and in exchange be grated tax relief. For me, it is better this way than to pay government taxes For businesses based in Lagos and they go and squander it somewhere irrelevant. 9 Likes |

JovialJune: Do you understand the write-up at all You don't think giving tax credit to serious organisation that has spend that same amount of money on road construction is not better than them paying into Government coffers, where the money will be looted If you know the road they are talking about, you will agree with me Dangote has done a fantastic job...Cement based highway construction.... construction has reached Gbagada from Mile 2 7 Likes |

No nation makes significant progress with businessmen like Dangote. 2nd industrial tax holiday in how many year? Of what importance is he to the North he came from? CSR in places where he has his factories is zero, why didn't he build his refinery in Yobe and Kano? He will construct 15km road in exchange for 15yrs tax waiver. Imagine 200ml people depending on his sole refinery for pms, now that he is asking FG to ban fuel importation. He will switch to N1000/LITRE Do you blame him? Blame the clueless FG & lame NNPC 2 Likes 1 Share |

JovialJune: It baffles me a lot of you still don’t get the message! Nigeria is currently under seize. They want your ancestral lands as theirs, they have infiltrated your government, they have all top sensitive positions like NNPC, FIRS, IMMIGRATION, CUSTOM, NPA, DSS, EFCC, they have top ranks in the armed forces, they have monopolized the main commodities with highest demands thereby holding your economy with one of their own. What more handwriting did Nigerians want away. Fulanization of Nigeria was planned decades back and everything starts manifesting the moment we handed over the number one position (President) to their messiah (Buhari). Put all the pieces together and you will get the clear picture. |

PlayMaker14: What's wrong in granting tax credits for funding the road construction on behalf of the federal government? Have you even plied the roads to see the top-notch quality Dangote deployed there? The Oshodi-Oworonshoki expressway is one the of sweetest raods to drive on in Lagos state. Do you even know what tax credits are? A lot of Nairalanders are very dumb and you, unfortunately top the list. 5 Likes |

Patrioticman007:You are living in a false reality. National consciousness of oneness, cohesion and sociopolitical consensus and stability are requisite to any tangible economic development like industrialization. Go and study the genealogies of countries that industrialized. If there is no national togetherness or the national will is zero, no country can navigate the hurdles of studying, copying and replicating foreign technology. That's even the first stage. What about implementing protectionism, import substitution and local content? Ordinary to reject foreign rice and patronize the local ones, many people rightly see the border closure as political persecution given that it is only enforced in some parts of the country. Zero unity! You think a Yoruba Man who is keen on exiting this contraption called Nigeria will sit down on a round table with the killer Fulani Herdsmen' Representatives to discuss industrialization strategies? Lol.Any sort of gathering only happens with the elites, and we all know that the substance of such phony unity is fraud and self-aggrandizement. |

PlayMaker14: Why don’t you fix the road and take the tax holiday. If not for private involvement in the provision of some amenities in this country, we’d all be doomed. Before you criticize, find out how much Dangote is using to fix the road, then subtract the so call tax holiday from that, it’s nothing 1 Like |

adioolayi: That is not the point and you know it, they will never give this credit to another competitior even if the person constructs a bridge, you cannot tell me the billions they gave him is equivalent to the amount he used for the road, they obviously gave more on things they will never allow to be made public. I'm really surprised some people still don't know the way the government works. 2 Likes |

JovialJune: Didn't the FG award a road construction company contract to allow it to thrive? ... and gave them millionsss upfront to construct the road? They never did but kept the money. RCCG constructed the road and requested to be reimbursed.... not sure if they were. Is this what you prefer?... FG to pay for projects that are never carried out? And we wonder why we are where we are today. Hatred has become an epidenic.... a virus that eats away our common sense and ability to reason. |

JovialJune: ... says the Chairperson of the FIRS, who also doubles as the minister of finance. Yen yen yen yen yen. Senseless conspiracy theorists everywhere. Has any competitor come out to say they were denied the contract in favour of Dangote? Have you even heard of the Road Infrastructure development and refurbishment investment tax credit scheme of the federal government? Dangote took advantage of it and you are here spewing nonsense. Dangote actually did the country a favour. No upfront payment from the government, no mobilization fees. He funded the project wholly and when it's time to pay back via tax credits, you complain. He wasn't even refunded in cash. He was given tax credits ... meaning he won't be paying company income taxes equivalent to 22 Billion NGN. Do you know how much would have accrued to his company if he had fixed the amount or invested it somewhere else? Ungrateful Nigerians! 2 Likes |

Streetpresident:who do you think will benefit most from the Refinery.... Northerners or southerners. The refinery is yet to be completed yet you can see Lagos Govt repositioning the areas around it for the boom that is coming. Who do you think works at Dangote facilities at Apapa wharf in Lagos? Have you been to Obajana? The Economic impact of that cement company on the surrounding communities is staggering. Go and ask them if they want the company moved to another location. They will drive u out of their community with cutlass. Whatever policies Dangote is taking advantage of is there to be exploited by all indigenous companies. Nobody is complaining about Bua. They are into sugar and cement like Dangote and the owner is a northerner. Nobody raised an eyelid when Coscharis used the import waiver for importation of cars for Coja to import rice for 10 yrs. Blame the Govt for not providing you Basic needs and amenities. Dangote is just a business man working under the climate he finds himself..... be it Nigeria, Cameroun or Tanzania 1 Like |
