I keep saying that some people don't read with an open mind, and sorry, you are one of them.
If the fees are increased and used well, won't the University build more classrooms? Won't they buy more equipment and subscriptions? Won't they employ better lecturers? A lot can be done with an increase in fees and judicious use of such funds.

I came here to report a very big problem that should be addressed by the school authority or the state Government.
School resumption is slated for 10th May for returning students and I just went to my portal now to pay my fees . What I saw was far from shocking as the school has added ridiculous fees to milk the student community dry

I can't get my hand on all the screenshot but this is bad for struggling students.
My total school fees is now 90k

Others should go to technical school for courses like automobile coupling, skyscraper construction, elevator repair etc.

This is a meager compared to what we see in UNICAL. Have you heard of 'Friends Of The School' fee? N500, N2000, N2500 and other little bills during clearance.. man fit craze.. plus the hunger and frustration that comes with sapa and week40 in school. These guys are heartless.. they even added late entry fee to the last exam we wrote.

I don't think N90k fees is unacceptable when you think of what N90k will buy you in the open market. Yet you expect to get N500k a month job in Bank or N1mln in oil company. If you want cheap N20k education, bthrn you should be willing to take minimum wage.

Funny enough, you all will complain that this in unacceptable but still go and pay £20k for masters abroad.

What you are saying is that all low income eaners who have smart kids that can go places with University education should go and die?
Why not maintain the status quo for fees since its subsidized only in government schools and then a quota for higher education entry should be placed in order to admit only top notch students instead if disqualifying these top students because they have no funds. Naturally those who don't meet up while consider other facets of learning as you enumerated until we are able to plan for our citizens as a country.

Try to humble yourself. All this one na just pointless noise

The point is: what makes a man what he is depends on his personal development in his specific field-- not even the school.
The school gives you the headstart needed, while you are expected to invest your time and energy on the knowledge, with proper comprehensiveness to impact positively within the environment and the society at large.

In general, the student is expected to go extra mile in his field and not to stop where the school curriculum stops. That is where skillset and innovation comes in.

Intelligent kids of poor people will win scholarships. Trying to force kids of the poor into all platforms will only lead to overpopulation and devaluation. If visas were 20k and open to whoever, canada would have been destroyed by now.
