MejiLoyon: And you think that should be in a sane country?? Is the fact that Master's Degree Holders are doing lowly security work something that a Nigerian youth should celebrate? In any case, no evidence the applicant desperately needed any job, and i appreciate the way he handled it! 2 Likes |

The HR should have crafted the response carefully. That response was demeaning. What is wrong with saying : 1. Due to lack of experience/exposure in the position you applied for, we invite you to try reapply for the role of xyz to be gain knowledge bla bla bla Or 2. This is the position that is currently open and available to be filled in our organisation if you are interested in it Or 3. 1 Like |

MejiLoyon:Humility can be a two way traffic you know. So an applicant should be humble but a HR officer who should be the bearer of the company's corporate image can talk to people anyhow an even hang up on them? Na wa for you o! Don't allow people to be treating you anyhow o! Low self esteem isn't humility. 1 Like |

VTJN:Normal Nigerian attitude is what I see you exhibiting! Swallowing disrespect with a glass of wine. Nobody should disrespect you because they are offering you a job. Remember, they will never hire you out of love or pity. They will only pick you when they are sure they will gain from you so have some sef esteem. Taking insults from people anyhow ain't humility. 2 Likes |

Nbotee: If your friend is doing a high-paying job, so why then is he still looking for another job? I work as a HR, and I will tell you that fellow has done nothing wrong, the problem here lies with you and your friend, your ego is higher than yourself. The HR must have Considered one or two information's on your friend CV before finding him fit for the position irrespective of his M.Sc. If not arrogance, your friend could just easily say "I can't take up that role, or I'm not a perfect fit for that role, can you consider me for this role or that" But with your arrogance, since he has M.Sc, he should have been offered the position of the CEO, or the HR should have fried egg for him because he holds M.Sc. They are people that even have doctor degree, you and your friend should lower your sholders and embrace the humility you demand for from that HR. 3 Likes |

MejiLoyon:this one na mumu basking in the euphoria of social media limelight. Admin assistant is a bsc position. But even at that, the man applied for another job and should be given it or politely ask if he will like to be an admin. assistant. Don't let the job scarcity on Nigeria make you lose your sense of judgment. 1 Like |

I believe the applicant should have all of his details in his CV especially the WORK EXPERIENCE and POSITION held.. If the position applied for is related to his previous experience why downgrade him? But if it's not related, then the HR can offer a lesser position BUT he/she should give reason(s) afterward... This will clearly show that you understand his worth/current position, but you made that decision because of another factor... |

Someone7:To be truthful, nobody asked you all these naw. Nigerians have a weird knack of trying to tackle other people's achievements by comparing with theirs. He already rejected the job because he knows his worth. His regular paying job could be much higher than your last 450k. He simply didn't want anything less and told the HR off for being insulting. How is that hard for you to understand? What's humility and toxicity in what he said? What's your UK MSc to do with it? Should everyone now do 7.5k internships like you or what? N.B: I blame both the HR and the applicant. I just had to call your bluff on putting your life out here to tackle him |

My take. From a professional angle. Health economics is part of health administration and this transcends that the HR does not know his job. Having an MSc in this area should not even be considered for nothing less than an administrative officer. 1 Like |

luminouz: No made you a comment police sir. If you knew how job positions worked, you'd know Intern is even lower than an Assistant. That's the point I was trying to make. You can reject an offer without being all "don't you know I have MSc". What is MSc? People have multiple and are still level headed. The organisation had the right to offer him the position they saw fit. He had the right to reject it. Which one is insulting . How hard is it to understand? 1 Like |
