I think your transcript is good overall. In your answer to what will this program do for you, I feel you should put your last statement first, some VOs don't have time for stories and might think you're going off course. So put important or main points first, stories should come later. PS: I'm an applicant too, so might be wrong, just an experience from a previous denial. Victoriaog: 1 Like |

Hi I feel your reasons for why Grand Canyon and what will this certificate do for you is weak. A business Analytics degree is not necessarily a research degree, it prepares you for the industry, plus it's from a business school and you shouldn't talk about research interest in growing small and medium businesses in Nigeria, when you later talked about adding value to your mum's business. You could talk about the advance and predictive Analytics curriculum plus electives that is tailored towards helping your mother's business or any other organisation make data informed decisions. For example, if your mum runs a distribution or logistics business, an elective in supply chain Analytics might help ( see this link on the program's website https://www.gcu.edu/blog/business-management/why-choose-master-science-business-analytics). On what will the certificate do for you: You first said to improve your mum's business, then later you said you want to train businesses. I think you should pick either narrative and dwell on it or you can say you will provide actionable insights to grow your mum's business, then in 3-5 years time, you intend to create a website or resource to help medium businesses get insights from their idle databases. Overall you need to do more research about the program outcomes of a business Analytics degree. PS: I'm also an applicant going for the same program. My feedback might be wrong. [quote . I need correction on my transcript. Would be going for an interview on the 19th of May at Abuja 3rd interview Vo- why are you going to the use Me- to obtain a masters of science in business analytics at grand canyon university Arizona Vo- why grand canyon university Me- apart from my sister been an alumni of grand canyon university. My research interest is in the field of ways to grow business in small and medium scale sector in Nigeria. I spoke with professor phil Greg in the department of business analytics who has a research on ways to grow business in small and medium scale sector in the word, he would be of help to me. The university tuition fee is in line with my mother's budget. Vo- who is you sponsor Me- my mom Vo- what does she do Me- she is the managing director of ..... Where I work. Vo- why is she have a different last name Me- I lost my dad at a very little age, and my mom got remarried. Vo- how would this certificate help you Me- with a master degree in business analytics, it would help me enhance The growth of my mother's company where I work, During the covid 19 pandemic, individuals where helped by the Nigerian government to grow their businesses, without a good knowledge about the data base of your business it won't grow. So I would start up a training business firm for individuals with passion for business. Vo- after your masters what next for you. Me- upon my return to Nigeria. I would go back to my place of work, And bring those knowledge at work in my mother's company. Vo- why USA Me- I chose USA because they offer the right blend to the theoretical and practical knowledge which is very difficult to obtain anywhere in the world. I have more let me post this for now. Please I need your honest correction. I really want to be confident in my self. I believe I can get it here. [/quote] |

And when I had gone to the reception center to get my passport back. It came with a slip pointing to the reason why I was refused under section 214b ...my question could I have been banned?? And for how long? What do I do if I have been banned before re applying? Please I need answers guys |

beans12: At the Interview did you hear anything like Administrative processing? (AP). The only reason for that denial is; further checks are run on your documents, and the officials discovered some discrepancies. Since you're given the reason of 214b. You might not have been banned but just denied. Now be honest with yourself, did you produce fraudulent documents? |

Greatajo: Reciprocity fee has long been rescinded. Now you don't pay after your visa has been issued. |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Nobody: 9:35pm On May 08, 2021 |
If it was actually a 214b refusal, you haven't been banned. Here's some information that would help you understand what happened: What does a visa denial under INA section 214(b) mean? This law applies only to nonimmigrant visa categories. If you are refused a visa under section 214(b), it means that you: Did not sufficiently demonstrate to the consular officer that you qualify for the nonimmigrant visa category you applied for; and/or Did not overcome the presumption of immigrant intent, required by law, by sufficiently demonstrating that you have strong ties to your home country that will compel you to leave the United States at the end of your temporary stay. (H-1B and L visa applicants, along with their spouse and any minor children, are excluded from this requirement.) What are considered strong ties to my home country? Ties are the various aspects of your life that bind you to your home country. Strong ties vary from country to country, city to city, and person to person, but examples include: Your job; Your home; and/or Your relationships with family and friends. While conducting visa interviews, consular officers look at each application individually and consider the applicant's circumstances, travel plans, financial resources, and ties outside of the United States that will ensure the applicant’s departure after a temporary visit. Is a refusal under section 214(b) permanent? No. A refusal, or ineligibility, under section 214(b) is for that specific application, so once a case is closed, the consular section cannot take any further action. There is no appeal process. If you feel there is additional information that should be considered related to the visa decision, or there are significant changes in your circumstances since your last application, you may reapply for a visa. To reapply, you must complete a new application form, pay the application fee, and schedule an appointment for a new interview. Review the website of the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where you plan to reapply to learn about any reapplication procedures. beans12: |

Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Kdramalady: 10:51pm On May 08, 2021 |
Call the Lagos embassy at this number: 012278955, they're the ones that handle the CGI website, you'll be put on hold or the number might not connect for a while, but keep trying, once you're connected with an agent, explain it to them in detail, you'll be told to provide a new/unique email so that they can transfer your former email to the new one, you'll also be told to provide a scanned copy of your passport. After a day, you should receive an email confirming your new email and a temporary password, if you don't get the email after a day, call them again and have them do it over the phone while you're on the line with them. Greatajo: Click on allow or yes something like that, then you would be asked to upload your international passport. Wait for 72 hours or less mine was less you would get a new password with your new email then you would be able to book for interview date 1 Like |
