No he was saying the truth, Jesus never denied that instead he later said at John 14:30 that the ruler of the world is coming and has no hold on him( that was satan) also Job 9:24 says that the earth has been handed over to the wicked. 1John 5:19 further stress it by saying that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. That was the reason Jesus asked his followers at mat 6.9,10 to pray that God's kingdom should come. If the world is realy controlled by God why would he allow evil to persist?

He never said anything about them being immortal or all knowing.... He was specific. He told them they were going to know good and evil once they eat from the tree.

The story is a tale meant to enlighten the people. Christians are taking it too seriously. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil has to do with choices and consequences. It is not a physical tree.

That's another big contradiction for the literalist. If God knows everything, then of course he can't claim to not know they would disobey him.

He didn't lie to them. He told them what would happen if they ate from the tree. When they succumbed and ate from the tree, they didn't die, instead what he said would happen, happened. Both their eyes opened.... How is that a lie?

There is nothing like the spirit of good and bad dwelling in man. We are free moral agents. We decide what to do, good or bad.

If you say satan is not a creature, then who tempted Jesus after he got baptised? Who challenged Job's integrity before God in heaven? Who contended with Michael for the body of Moses? Who did the Bible refer to as "the god of this system of thing"? Who does was the book of revelation 12:12 referring to when it say: "... Devil has come down to you... Knowing he has a short period of time".

I am not mistaken because the Daniel passage is also saying that God rules in the affairs of men ( socialism, Democracy, etc) and gives the kingdom to whoever he chooses. Even Paul slightly agreed with Daniel in the book of Romans 13 when he says every authority was put in place by God to punish evil and correct you. Yet you are saying Satan rules in the political affairs of the world? Can't you see the contradiction?
