If We Want To Push Blames, Igbo Will Be Blamed For Nigeria's Present woes - Ndum by Nobody: 1:02pm On May 24, 2021 |
"If we want to push blames, Igbo or South-East will be blamed for Nigeria's present woes" - Ndume Senator Ali Ndume said if Nigerians want to start apportioning blames to regions for what is going on in the country presently then the Igbos would share a greater part of the blame. Senator Nduem, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, and also representing the Borno South Senatorial District, said that the Igbo and South-East people played a major role in the structure that we have today in Nigeria. (Senator Ndume) Speaking during an Interview with Sunday Punch, Senator Ndume said that Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe who was the first president of Nigeria being an Igbo man played a prominent role in the present structure of Nigeria. "You will discover that if people should be apportioning blames, the Igbo or people from the South-East should be blamed for what is happening now because they played a prominent role in the structure that we have today in Nigeria under Nnamdi Azikiwe", Senator Ndume was quoted as saying. Senator Ndume pointed out that the Northerners have been advocating for a peaceful Nigeria ever since inception and are still working to ensure that Nigeria remains united. I wonder how some people reason; (1) How can you blame an entire region for the actions of one man 50 years plus ago? (2) Did Zik take the decision alone? Even if he did, did he also forced it down the throat of the leaders of the other regions that make up Nigeria? (3) Zik and co did what they thought was best for Nigeria then (4) And most importantly, if what Zik and co did then is today considered a mistake, what stops Ndume and the present government/ National Assembly from changing it immediately? Why the hypocrisy? 16 Likes |

He did all that to please the north because, he thought it would make the south west irrelevant. Zik committed the original sin which the whole south is suffering from today. How could an African giant like him agree to be a ceremonial president without portfolio? 2 Likes |

Okay let us assume Zık is to be blamed for Nigeria's woes, the question is,was Zik's mistake casted on stone that it cannot be corrected? Why are northerners bent on preserving Zik's woes on Nigeria at all cost? 2 Likes |

South korea, was same level as nigeria in 1960, they ran a centralised system, military dictatorship yet have left nigeria behind Malaysia was same level as nigeria in 1960, ran a centralised system yet they have left nigeria behind In 1990, China had the largest number of poor persons in the world, runs a centralised communist system yet today nigeria has more poor persons than china. Dubai was no where in 1990, runs a monarchy yet today every nigeria wants to visit dubai. But someone after 60 yesrs is blaming azikiwe. Did azikiwe devalue the naira, did azikwe prevent nigeria from utilization of crude oil, is azikiwe responsible for large unemployment, fuel subsidy scam. Did azikiwe say nigeria should not build hospital, did azikiwe loot the treasury, did azikiwe maintain foreign bank accounts, did azikiwe own property abroad. 7 Likes |

Sirjamo:Zik was blackmailed by the British government incharge of Nigeria at the time into accepting that position. You can watch the interview granted by Harold Smith an old British official during the colonial days. If we were to analyse Ziks motive for agreeing to a united Nigeria, one can either see him as a nationalist who(having schooled in USA and met with great African American minds who want all blacks to unite and fight off racism) wants a big and strong Nigeria that can be a world power or one can see him as a greedy man who wants power for himself and his people alone like some people will want us to believe. Which ever side we choose to believe, it is certain that Zik couldn't achieve anything he had in mind for Nigeria until he died while those who initially didn't agree with him took over power and wasted the opportunity of making Nigeria great like he envisioned. Instead they destroyed her beyond repair. How do you think you can build a country by marginalizing a big and enterprising people like Igbos? It can never work. How do you growth can come by frustrating bright minds and promoting mediocrity? Just imagine the calibre of persons currently running the federal government. Who in his right mind will allow the current CJN to represent him in an international court? The anomaly and hypocrisy in Nigeria is very visible even to the blind. They can continue to heap all the blames on us and we will continue to progress and remind our children about Nigeria and what to expect from her until they allow common sense to prevail. 3 Likes |

Zik and co arranged for regional governments across the regions so Zik had no hand in the current unitary system, disguised as Federal system. Ojukwu arranged for confederation, but other Nigerians opted for this current unitary system. In 2015, Igbos shouted from the rooftop for people not to elect Buhari as Igbos knew he was a terrorist islamist, but Nigerians voted him in, and now he has destroyed Nigeria So Igbos have no hand in the mess we are in 3 Likes |

If no be Igbo news e no fit sell. but one thing I know for sure is that. When we are gone, people will miss us. If Igbos are the current problem of Nigeria, let us have a referendum and decide our destiny. Let us go so that we would stop causing shame to other Nigerians Let us go so that Boko Haram will stop killing soldiers and civilians in the north Let us go so that we'll stop claiming Lagos as no man's land Let us go so that we'll stop selling spare parts in the north Let us go so that bandits would stop kidnapping students in katsina and kaduna Let us go so that fulani herdsmen would stop killing people in Benue and southern kaduna Let us go so that fuel pump price would be #35 Let us go so that $1 = 50k Let us go so that you won't have issues of Igbo presidency during elections 7 Likes |

Sirjamo:Must you always rope yourself in this? Guy, is it not proof to most of you that Igbos are not seeing the SW as an issue to itself? SW standalone has never been, isn't & will never be the problem of the SE The SE issue with SW is interfering with it's issues with the North Bros, Zik is so light minded for that Zik who even fought against Ojukwu for wanting Biafra? Zik who ran away to London & had to keep pushing for 1 Nigeria against the will of the people? Zik became staunch enemies with Ojukwu during the civil war Stop selling this lie There's no proof even till today that Igbos has done anything to stop the SW even when people like you kept driving the Igbos are destroying the.
