Could remember that time in secondary school when one of our teachers would be bragging with his ICAN certificate grin grin.
Saying:
I have two ICAN certificate..!

If you know what it takes to have one, you wouldn't be misbehaving like this grin grin

I can't say about now sha... If they're still on to that their fame and their pride... ICAN wink

Is it even possible to be certified a chartered accountant twice? Maybe he meant, he has sat twice for the exams. LOL.

No one is accountable in Nigeria, that’s why a governor’s door opener has his own door opener cheesy

ICAN exams are straightforward. If you study and practise well enough, passing isn't a problem. There's no room for cheating and sorting unlike what obtains most especially in our public institutions. The marking system makes it difficult for anyone to "settle". That level of integrity is the reason why the private sector would prefer an ICAN chartered accountant to an ANAN certified accountant. The public sector accepts both on equal terms though.

Nigeria's current president is from the north so everything will be sited there. Unless southern governors speak up and demand one each in the SW SE and SS.

Nonse.nse! The South West, South South and south east are busy paying subscriptions to ICAN and they make up 98% of members and students of the institute and you took the university to Abuja close to the North.. this is nonsens.e

Why would I go to unilag to study accounting when I can go to the regulator itself.?

It is like the National society of Engineers establishing an Engineering University.

Excess money for the ICAN people Which is what they want.

The Universities should sue them.

Is it is possible to have 2 ICAN certificates... ATS3 and Final ICAN certificate.
For those who aren’t graduates but wants to be chartered, they can enroll for ICAN with WAEC and write ATS1 to ATS3 exams which is certificated... then they use that certificate to enroll for profesional levels.. upon completion of the professional exams one is issued the main ICAN certificate... so it is possible to have 2 ICAN certificates

Africans always deviating. I am yet to see Top world professional bodies having universities. This is a wrong move and if not careful will discredit ICAN.

Point taken though BUT truth be told NOT ALL
Oil assets are owned by Northerners.
That's exaggerated.

The vast majority of Oil assets are leased(I believe that's the right word ) by Foreign MNCs.
The rest of it are owned by elite Nigerians of northern and southern extraction.

Among the TRUE ELITE they don't care much about tribal extraction.

Once a person graduates they get ICAN certificate so this means more northerners will get the certificate whether they have a third class, second class lower e.t.c

Do you expect them to fail northerners?
