Hello House, It's been a long time. I havent commented here for months. I hope you're all doing well. I'm back again because of this NIN application and passport renewal wahala in UK. I was told about this site https://iq-online.net/ to register for NIN. It supports UK, Ireland, Usa, Canada, Spain, switzerland. And is the site legitimate? Has anyone used them before? |

SamReinvented: Lol, na dem. I visited a friend of mine who had a 13 year old daughter one summer a while back. She was going out and he was complaining bitterly about how she was dressed (she was wearing something short and skimpy enough to give an average Nigerian grounds to cast and bind her). Her mother too added her voice ("Go and cover yourself now!"} and a mini-altercation broke out and the girl left anyway. I told the chap that having made the transition to the white man's land to raise your children, one should better get ready for anything. The children could embrace any sexuality or lifestyle. They might decide not to become the doctor, lawyer, engineer so beloved of Nigerian parents, or even to go to university at all. Or they might take off in old age and leave you to the tender mercies of the care system and whatever equity you have in your home. All one can do is try to nudge them in a desired direction through acculturation (difficult to do as our communities in the abroad generally exist for showing off and strange competition as opposed to those of the Asians, for instance), do a lot of praying if you're invested in any desired outcomes, and start researching old people's/assisted living options just in case. 5 Likes |

TheGuyFromHR:Honestly the aspect of dressing has been worrying me since I got here. I see female kids in skimpy dresses all around and I wonder if they don't have parents. One must be very intentional in raising kids here with a lot of prayers. 1 Like 1 Share |

babajeje123: Lmao What has mode of dressing got to do with having parents or otherwise? Do you really expect anyone to dress like a masquerade in this hot weather? Dressing is largely dependent on the climate/weather, not parents or the lack of one. When I remember all the suit and tie I wore in the hot Naija climate and how I used to sweat like Christmas goat those years back, I just couldn’t but laugh so hard 4 Likes |

Who said going to university is the key to success especially in the uk ?. Below are 2 scenarios/Example (Child A and Child B) Child A goes to university and graduates . He/she is already indebted to the government (student loan). He would find it almost impossible or at least 7/10 years of savings before he can get on the property leader. On the other hand, Child B goes into an apprenticeship and within 3/4 years he/she has gained experience and possibly is a supervisor/ manager. He has no debt and can quickly get on the property leader. Child A is searching for suitable jobs but isn’t lucky because he lacks experience. When he finally get a jobs, he meets child B as his supervisor/manager. In conclusion unless your child is gifted academically, don’t force university into there head just to boost your ego amongst your peers. University doesn’t guarantee success. These days you can go to university even when you are 80 (obansanjo et al..) 7 Likes |
