Covert1:You are totally wrong. Pakistan is never willing to confront India in any direct war. While india would be ready to strike pakistan on any slight provocation ,Pakistan is always wary of such cause in an outright face-off without the use of nuclear bombs they would be defeated hands down. and they know this .india as the upper hand in any conflit. and please forget about the J-17 thunder its just an over-hyped jet with little functionality 4 Likes |

Covert1:Rafale vs F-16/ JF-17 Thunder vs Chengdu J-20 All three of these aircraft are multi-role fighters, meaning they are made to perform various kinds of operations, including long-range air-to-air and air-to-ground attacks. While JF-17 is the fourth generation aircraft, Rafale is a 4.5 general "omnirole" fighter aircraft, which allows it to go out on at least four missions in one sortie. China claims J-20 is a 5th generation aircraft. Both Rafale and JF-17 come in single as well as twin seats. China's J-20, on the other hand, is a single-seat only. India will get 28 single-seat jets and eight twin-seaters fighters from France. In terms of weight, J-20 weighs 19,000 kg and can carry the weight of up to 37,013 kg. Rafale weighs 9,900 kg-10,600 kg and can carry up to 24,500 kg weight. JF-17 weighs 6,411 kg, with the take-off weight of 12,474 kg. This means both J-20 and Rafale can carry more firepower during their missions. Rafale is around 15.3 m in length, with a wingspan of 10.9 m and height of 5.3 m. J-20 is up to 20.5 m long, with a wingspan of up to 13.5m. J-17 is 14.93 long, with a wingspan of 9.48 m and 4.77m height. Rafale attains the top speed of 2,222.6 km per hour, while J-20 and F-17 possess the maximum speeds of 2,400 km per hour and 1,975 kmph, respectively. Rafale's service ceiling -- crucial during dogfights when pilots want to avoid surface-to-air missiles -- can go up to 50,000 ft, while J-20 and JF-17 have the service ceiling of 65,620 ft and 54,000 ft, respectively. Rafale can carry most-advanced and lethal weapons available, including air-to-air MCA missile; long-range air-to-air Meteor missiles; and air-to-ground Hammer missile. It can also carry laser-guided bombs with different warheads, and non-guided classic bombs. The scalp long-range missiles loaded in Rafale can hurt deep inside enemy territory. The Indian Air Force (IAF) recently decided to further boost Rafale's combat capabilities by procuring lethal HAMMER missiles -- a new generation medium-range air-to-ground weapon -- from France. These missiles take out targets in high-altitude areas. Very important for the himalayas Another major advantage for Rafale is its ability to climb up to 60,000 ft per minute during a dogfight. J-20 can climb up to 59,842.52 ft per minute, while JF-17 has a climbing speed of 59,000 ft per minute. Another big difference is the battle experience. Rafale is an extremely experienced aircraft, used widely in war missions in Afghanistan, Libya and Syria. The J-20, JF-17 have no such experience. Dassault Rafale Is Class Apart IAF has already inducted 11 Rafale jets, and more will join shortly. The first squadron will have its full 18 aircraft by mid-2021 and then the second squadron will start forming. The Rafale is an Omni-role fighter and a battle-proven weapon platform, that has been selected from among the world’s best, after a grueling selection process. This French twin-engine, canard delta-wing multi-role fighter aircraft built by Dassault Aviation is equipped with the latest avionics and a wide range of weapons. Rafale is intended to perform air supremacy, interdiction, aerial reconnaissance, ground support, deep strikes, anti-shipping operations, and nuclear deterrence missions. Although not a full-aspect stealth, it is designed with reduced radar crosssection through wing-body shaping and extensive use of composite materials. The glass-cockpit is designed around the principle of data fusion. The primary flight controls are arranged in a hands-on-throttle-and-stick (HOTAS) arrangement. The direct voice input (DVI) system reduces pilot workload across all operations. The Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) is integrated with weapons. The cockpit is fully compatible with night vision goggles. Rafale has an on-board oxygen generation system that eliminates the need to carry bulky oxygen canisters. The integrated electronic defense suite SPECTRA protects the aircraft against airborne and ground threats and allows independent missions for suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD). Rafale’s ground attack capability is heavily reliant upon targeting pods, such as Thales Optronic’s Reco New Generation/Areos reconnaissance pod and Damocles electro-optical/laser designation pod. The Thales RBE2 AA AESA multi-mode radar allows increased levels of situational awareness, multiple air target tracking, long-range interception, as well as real-time generation of three-dimensional terrain maps. In the air supremacy role, it has passive electro-optical sensors, that allow silent attacks. The Rafale has 14 external hard-points and can carry a maximum of nine tons. The aircraft is nuclear-capable. The two, time-tested, Snecma M88 engines are modular in design allowing quicker turnaround servicing and maintenance. The engines enable super-cruise while carrying four missiles and one drop tank. There is a carrier-based variant, the Rafale M. In addition to the French Air Force, the Rafale is being operated by India, Egypt, and Qatar. Rafale has been operationally tested in combat in Afghanistan, Libya, Mali, Iraq, and Syria. Several upgrades to the weapons and avionics of the Rafale are under testing and planned to be introduced in steps this year onwards. The Rafale is planned to be the French Air Force’s primary combat aircraft until 2040 or later. |

NIGERIAN NAVY LAUNCHES NEW WARSHIP The Nigerian Navy (NN) has today launched a new Landing Ship Tank (LST) at Damen Shipyard, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The construction of the ship began about 2 years ago and when commissioned, will replace the first set of LSTs of the NN, NNS AMBE and NNS OFIOM which have been decommissioned. The introduction of the LST to the NN inventory will bolster NN sealift capability. Specifically, it would enhance the transportation of troops, military hardware, vehicles in the conduct of maritime security operations launched from sea as well as supply of relief material during period of national emergency. Furthermore, the vessel will serve as a critical component of naval power projection for enhanced maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea and beyond. In its secondary role, the LST will play a critical role in the protection of maritime assets and preservation of law and order at sea, thus contributing significantly to promotion of global maritime commerce, peace and safety. The new LST has a complement of 32 crew and 250 embarked persons and a length of 100.08m. She is powered by 2 Caterpillar/Cat 3516 C-rating engines and 4 Caterpillar C-18 generators. Furthermore, she has an endurance of 15 days @ 15 knots. If she is to be used for humanitarian missions/evacuation, she can accommodate over 450 persons on its upper and lower decks in short trips. The bid opening process for the procurement of the LST was held on 19 December 2017 and supervised/conducted by a team from the Bureau of Public Procurement as well as a technical committee of the Nigerian Navy. The Shipbuilding companies that participated were Damen Shipyards of the Netherlands, Anadolu Deniz of Turkey and Indian Shipyards GOA of India. On 13 June 2019, the NN and Damen Shipyards signed the final general arrangement plan and specifications on the LST 100 and this date of 13 June 2019 became the effective date of contract for the LST 100. The contract duration as agreed by both parties was approximately 36 months from the effective date of contract. The Keel laying ceremony for the LST 100 was held on the 9 December 2019 at The Damen-Albwardy Shipyard in Sharjah the UAE. The immediate past CNS Vice Admiral IE Ibas placed the Nigerian Navy insignia into the keel and sealed it. Over the last 2 years several Factory Acceptance Tests with regards to various components of the LST 100 have been jointly and successfully completed by the NN and Damen Shipyards. Most notable among these FAT’s was the main propulsion engines tested in 2019/ 2020 and the Remote Weapon system which was also successfully tested in March 2021. Damen Shipyards is one of the biggest multinational shipbuilding groups in the world, operating more than 50 shipbuilding and repair yards worldwide. On the African continent, they operate a full shipbuilding yard in South Africa and in Port Harcourt Nigeria, they operate a fully equipped maintenance yard. The LST contract is being handled by DSNS (Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding) the naval shipbuilding arm of Damen shipyards and the ship is being constructed at the Damen-Albwardi Shipbuilding Yard in Sharjar in the UAE. 11 Likes
