Arizona Senate Republicans overseeing a review of the 2020 election are ignoring a challenge from election experts who say they can prove the vote was not compromised.

Senate President Karen Fann, R-Prescott, has refused to respond to Pima County Republican Benny White and former executives from Boston-based Clear Ballot Group, an election-auditing company, after they issued the challenge Tuesday

The experts say they have counted the ballots from the election using publicly available data from batches of ballots as they were tabulated in November. They concluded that Biden won due in large part to voters who supported Republican candidates in several races but didn't give their presidential vote to Trump.

Their offer could provide a fast comparison on a portion of the ballot review that has come under heavy criticism from election-administration officials in Arizona and across the country. The Senate liaison for the effort has said he doesn't see what it would accomplish, however.


The Senate's ongoing review is managed by Florida-based Cyber Ninjas, a company whose CEO has pushed former President Donald Trump's false narrative of a stolen election and lending a partisan hue to the effort before it began.

Those making the offer of a parallel count on a portion of the ballots are White, a prominent Pima County Republican data analyst, Larry Moore, the founder of Boston-based Clear Ballot Group and the retired Clear Ballot Chief Technology Officer Tim Halvorsen.

"We are giving them a tool to check what they are doing, period," Moore said Friday. "If they don't want that check, then they are on their own."

The group initially offered to let the Senate Republicans running the audit select an unopened box of ballots (any box), and the team would within minutes provide an accurate count of each race on all 1,000 or so ballots inside.

They proposed to do this without ever opening it or stepping foot in Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Instead they would use a spreadsheet of ballots from the election they created with public records from the county.

Senate Republicans hired Cyber Ninjas to conduct what they are calling a forensic audit of the 2020 Maricopa County election, and they have nearly 2.1 million ballots at the coliseum.

If, however, Cyber Ninjas' count differed from the outside experts, they could drill down into those specific ballots to understand the discrepancies.

"Whenever the final results are announced by the Senate or the Ninjas, there needs to be a level of granularity that provides confidence in the results," Moore said, adding that the contractors should provide counts for each batch of ballots in each box so their figures can be verified.

He said he fears the contractors hired by the Senate will simply release conclusions that can't be reviewed.

"It is unacceptable for them to come up and provide five numbers, Trump, Biden, Jorgensen, Mark Kelly and McSally," Moore said. "That is the path we are on now. And that is not sufficient to build any kind of confidence."

Try not to insult. It is wrong for them to arrest anyone who uses Twitter. That I don't support. I am an IT guy and the ban should be done only at the ISP and their firewall policy. Cisco hardware firewalls are very powerful and smart enough to detect and block VPN connections and ports. That is where any action should take place but asking for authorities to start harassing people is unacceptable
