A Yoruba protest?

There is currently calm in different cities across the SouthEastern part of the country as residents shunned the June 12 protest.

However, the situation in SouthWest is different as protesters are occupying different cities, with security operatives struggling to maintain law and order.

Daily Trust had earlier reported how the police took over the Freedom Park, Ojota, venue of the Lagos protest, on Saturday morning.

But hours later, the protesters trooped to the streets, daring the security operatives who later dispersed them forcefully.

After they were dispersed, the protesters regrouped in different parts of Nigeria’s commercial capital.

There was chaos in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, as protesters demanded an end to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The protesters chanted antigovernmental songs as they marched through the streets.

In Osogbo, Osun State, students and civil rights activists, also protested and lamented the high rate of insecurity in the country.

Many streets were deserted as residents stayed indoors to avoid being caught in clashes.

Normalcy in SouthEast

But it was business as usual in the SouthEast region as people moved about freely.

The atmosphere in Awka, Anambra State capital, was peaceful and orderly.

People opened their shops and offices in the state and carried out their business unchallenged .

Owerri, Imo State capital, which has recorded disturbing incidents in recent time was calm on Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

While some residents managed to to go out, others preferred to stay indoors.

The state had been engulfed in crises since April 5 when gunmen invaded the headquarters of the Nigerian Police and that of the Correctional Services where they released more than 1,800 inmates.

However the police had asked residents to go about their duties without let or hindrance

Abutu Yaro, the State Police Commissioner, in a meeting with operators of Night Clubs/Hotels services in the state, encouraged them to open for business while assuring them of adequate protection.

Our correspondent, who drove round some parts of the metropolis, observed that though traffic was light, nobody was being molested.

There was also no protests in the state.

In Abia, it was also a peaceful atmosphere in different parts of the commercial town of Aba.

This protest should serve as a mini referendum.
It is only those that believe in Nigeria and want her to work that are protesting.
As for us, our people and our land, we don't want Nigeria, we were never and will never be Nigerians, so we will never partake in anything that will make it to work.
The protest is not for us. When SW is ready to destroy Nigeria permanently, they should call us

No sensible Igbo person should join the back stabbing Yoruba chameleons on any protest. They will only end up betraying igbos and siding with their Fulani masters to attack them. End SARS was not long ago nah, didn't we see the worse kind of chameleonish behavior by Yorubas? They ended up turning it into an "Igbos are destroying Lagos" agenda. The blunt truth is that Igbos will be used as a scapegoat by the army and other security agencies if they join the protest and the Yorubas will turn around and support their Fulani masters in their brutality against Igbos. Every wise igbo person should stay away from any protest that has to do with one Nigeria. Yorubas and other one Nigeria tribes can go and protest for their one Nigeria.

Buhari has no house in Lagos or Ibadan. He won't retire to SW , SS or SE after his presidency. The possibility of him using that railway or Expressway is almost zero. He did it for you and I.
STOP HATING!

South south of
Bayelsa, cross river, rivers, akwaibom ... and the east are inseparable....

The south might have reservations about eastern igbos .. but they can never ever follow yoruba and their Edo iteskiri people as south or Niger del

Today grayoso have learnt it hard that Awolowo died trying to divide this people but failed

Let them travelled to bayelsa and do june 12 protest and know if we won’t burn them alive

Ensars would have turned to Igbo affair when the ogas in the southwest started saying that Igbo's came to Lagos to destroy it, then this issue of burning police station and other buildings started in southeast, yurobas were shouting that Igbo's wanted to do the same thing in Lagos and other southwest state but were rebuffed and you still want this Igbo people to join you protest so you can turn it on them and kill them, you people are wicked bayi

Igbos are wise, June 12 is of no concern to the Igbo man, so I see no reason protesting, I see oduduwa republic becoming a reality after this protest.

This I have seen.

Them no talk about the calm in North east, the region that has the most reason to protest. Them no even talk about the calm in Benue.. Na South east them dey talk about. The fulani's and their unhealthy obsession with the igbos and the south in general. Always trying to pit them against each other..

Ancient Divide and conquer antics. Dummies.

Guy shut up once again! Don't let hunger and joblessness make a complete fool out of you.

Your useless conspiracy theory don't fly. You sound very silly to say the least.

If you're asked how you came about this foolish notion of yours, I'm sure you won't be able to provide a viable answer other than the nonsense you just spew.
