most would say go for Pgd. I have seen 3.0 get into MSc. Bro seriously u need to do a deep research about this. The issue is that it might take long before u get into a master's program. Just check if you meet the program's requirements.

My Oga! I greet you, Are you sure of this? 3.0 for Master of Science in Canada? Do you meant to say MA - Master of Art?, MBA - Master of Business Administration?

I know most MSc programs in Canada are thesis based and would require a supervisor's consent prior to be considered for admission.

With such grade (3.0), the applicant should opt for MA, MBA or PGD.

LONG POST ALERT!!!

As is often reiterated in this platform, no two applications is the same.
A BIG THANK YOU to all those who keep providing valuable information and offering guidance here. God bless and keep you.

Timeline:
1st application 2016
Applied for PGD in HRM to Georgian College
Refused on basis of;
# Home ties (I applied for visitors visa for my husband and first child, my other two are US citizens)
# Finanicial bla bla bla (VO wasn't convinced the course was a reasonable expense, no career progression and he claimed there was a bulk cash lodgement into the account, which unfortunately wasn't true)

2nd application 2020
Applied for MHRM in University of Regina
Refused primarily because I wasn't "totally truthful" in my application. I had clicked yes on the previous refusal of visas but unfortunately it was only the details of my previous study permit application I dwelt on. Other excuses about section R216 ie not leaving Canada were mentioned in the rejection but my GCMS highlighted that the VO's main concern was the non-declaration of the US visa refusal.

3rd Application -7th March, 2021
NSE request - 12th March, 2021
NSE submission- 3rd April, 2021
L,R,W,S were 9,9,7.5,7.5 respectively (screenshot was uploaded since hard copy hadn't been received)
11th April,2021 hard copy was scanned and sent via webform
14th April, 2021 NSE documents were acknowledged. Eligibility review commenced.
April 30th, 2021 Upfront medicals
May 19th, 2021 Medical report updated to passed
June 1st, 2021 webform informing IRCC of admission extension/deferral
June 4th, 2021 acknowledgement email of mail sent.
June 9th, 2021 correspondence letter and original passport request

DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED
All relevant IMM forms
Admission letter

PROOF OF FUNDS
Receipt of 20k CAD paid to the school
Sponsor is my husband
I submitted;
* his employment letter,
*promotion letters
* payslips and a letter of introduction from his office.
*Plus his bank statements and a reference letter from his bank which stated that I am a signatory to his accounts.
* Pension accounts statements
* Various investments/shares documents
* Title documents of properties owned (3 in total no valuation done, I only gave an estimated value of the properties) Also included were pictures of the properties.

# For myself, I only submitted my employment letter, confirmation of employment and introduction letter from my employer.
I stated in my SOP that since I will not be earning an income through the duration of my studies I don't feel the need to submit my own bank details so it doesn't divert the attention ,(not stated in those exact words o)

International passports of myself, my husband and 3 kids. They serve as home ties.

I hope I haven't left anything out.

I graduated with a 2.2 in accounting and finance but got the MHRM offer through the experience route which is for people who have worked in HR for about 7years and above. I had to write a convincing letter to the graduate school and was given the grwenlight to go ahead with my application

I am 37 going on 38 in August but that didn't deter me. grin

Thank you so much @frankrobbn1 @justwise @lekiboboe and all the other contributors too numerous to mention. You are a blessing!!!

Congratulations, please can you share me your SOP

Which of the Master's program are you seeking to pursue in Canada and the school. These are the factors you should be looking out for when applying for Graduate Admissions. Some programs are usually competitive with limited space, if your grades and personal statement is not clearly outlined in a persuasive manner, it will be tough to get in.

Please I need advice from experts.
My foundation class starts July 5 online.
Is it advisable to go to Canada this June .
I don’t intend to stay more that two weeks .
I just want to get my permit and come back to continue online .
Hope there won’t be any problem .
Your prompt response would be highly appreciated

It's possible to obtain your study permit and return back to Nigeria to continue your studies online. There is no issue with this.

Hello everyone. So I’m the guy that applied from
China but couldn’t pay for the visa application fee because I don’t have a Nigerian card with me, I had to give money to an agent in Nigeria to pay for the visa application fee. Then later I got an email saying there was a charge back on the fee and the agent quickly gave me another receipt and said sorry without explaining what happened. Then 3 weeks later I got a Refusal email with 5 year ban. I was worried and I requested for my notes. And it turned out that this same person canceled the payment again. Hence the denial and ban.

Please my brothers and sisters.
How do I lift off this ban?
Below is my notes !!

Please help

I regret to hear you've been found inadmissible to Canada for a period of five (5) years for a charge back you've no idea about. I empathise with your critical immigration situation and I'll have to encourage you to put yourself together. As other group members have earlier expressed their views, the best way to overturn the 5-years ban issued to you by IRCC is to hire an experienced immigration attorney in Canada, who will fight the case through the Judicial Review Process. Since you submitted your application from outside Canada, you've 60 days from the date the decision was made to file for a Judicial Review. Do not waste any time further, act as fast as possible. Please be aware that you will have to show proof that you transfered the exact amount equivalent to a compensated agent in Nigeria who later in the process requested for a chargeback from his bank.

I wish you the best on your Judicial Review Process.

Congratulations! It has ended in praise.

Please rejoice ooo, because it is not easy.

The long wait has been rewarded.

I got a refusal though, for home ties both in Canada and Nigeria. Apparently, my ties in Canada are way more than those in Nigeria. I will order GCMS note. I may reapply or opt for the US. But US is priority right now.

I wish you all a delightful outcome in your applications. We learn every day, and some experiences are worthwhile, even though they are a bit sad. But we move!

I applied on March 11 by the way.

March folks will be getting decisions. Stay blessed.

@Spectro, I'm getting to know your visa was refused by the Canadian immigration. Sorry about the delayed outcome of your application. Giving up shouldn't be an option for you, share a detailed profile of your submission and let's see how we can get help. In the meantime, order for your case notes to obtain a clearer picture of the refusal.

After declaring that the funds in my account was gifted by my dad for study, the money was sent as a loan and I have to pay monthly interest, now I want to return the money, and use funds from my church declaring a scholarship from them. Is this possible? What do you advise?

Hello guys, I just got a refusal. My dad is my sponsor, I have a degree in biochemistry and I applied for a PGD in Occupational health and safety management. I currently work at two hospitals, one full time and the other part time, as a health researcher and health promoter respectively. So please I need help and suggestions. I have also applied for my notes.

I don't think there is a correlation between your current employment with your intended program in Canada. Hence the purpose of visit as a ground for refusal.

The visa officer is obviously not satisfied about the reasonableness and lucrativeness of studying the program in Canada when weighed with the existing options available in your home country. Please order for your gcms notes as soon as you can and begin to work on providing a persuasive letter of explanation to address the initial concerns highlighted by the visa officer.

Yes,its nursing,which has always been my childhood dream. I am a graduate of geology. But I grew up with a nurse and showed proofs and explanations why I will like to pursue this dream.

This is a pre-assessment notes of the Program Case Analyst, you can't rely on this notes as the final review on your application. Please check the last two pages of your gcms notes, which contains the factual reasons as to why the Senior Immigration Officer refused your application. What happened in your case is that, the Program Case Analyst who is responsible for the initial R-10 check was satisfied with your application, albeit the Senior Immigration Officer had some reservations concerning the file during his assessment and decided to review your file again thus unavoidably leading to a negative decision. This happens occasionally on several cases.

Lastly, go for post graduate program instead of Second degree.. This will make your case convincing to the visa officer.

Her application was refused by the Senior Immigration Officer. The Program Case Analyst has given his review based on the information present on file, but the Senior VO is not satisfied with the initial review and had to decline the application. According to the information obtained from the Canadian immigration regulations and manuals, only the Senior VO has the final decision on any application submitted to IRCC.

Hello Lightswitch007,

There is no harm in sending the extra documents via webform/email. You can merge in one PDF. You can also merge to other documents to be uploaded in the (other) column(s) that have extra space.

But why not cut down the numbers by including only the relevant and sensitive pages. For example: Survey(s), C of O, Receipt, Building plan, etc.

Best of Luck

Thanks for your response Mr JustMellow and thanks for clearing my doubts, I was a bit worried for uploading half of my property document and the other half as a webform. I uploaded only the relevant documents that’s why it’s 126 pages. (Surveys, CofOs, Purchase Receipts, Transfer of Ownership Documents, Building Plans, Structural plans and Stamp Duties).

You can look at the Masters program in Geography, Urban and Environmental Studies at Concordia. That's my department but you need to find your own supervisor. If you have some publication (even conference paper) will help your case for receiving funding. Your CGPA is great but it may not be enough if you lackin other areas. When you do this try fuse your MBA and Geography background plus banking experience to propose a crazy proposal that fit into the department/professors research area(s).

You can also look at a Msc in GIS with specialization/application in business/industry.

MBA 2019

I was planning to apply for Graduate Certificate in Financial planning services at the Conestoga but not sure if my background and course choice would be seen as a red flag.

Holds ND Accounting (2004), BSc accounting (2008), Msc Policy Analysis (2016), ANAN certificate (2016). Married with 3 kids. The proposed course of study is Masters in Organizational Management in Canada. The main reason for this choice of course is in preparation for managerial position at the place of work. How convincing could this reason be?
Frank opinions please.....

You might get the admission but getting Visa might be difficult cos you have to do alot of convincing the visa officer on why graduate certificate and that it is a career progression.
