Our economy was just as bad then as it is now under Abacha.

Plus the price of petrol, and other stuff rose under his regime. We had heavy debts, fuel crisis, etc etc.

And we still had the same old same old corruption. And some insecurity as well.

To say nothing of a dictatorial state. One could be detained incommunicado....for years. No contact with lawyer, nothing.
