This topic made me rem my struggling age, it was very difficult for me then, I can go days without food. If I get One thousand naira during this period is like a million.

And so, I will have to spend it wisely. The best response to whatever case maybe is "success" poverty is hard, success is hard and the worst part is that it will be a useless world when you live poor and die poor.

His there anything God cannot do, plis don't loose at the hope of tomao, pray, study your bible, network, learn a skill and read books. Don't give up yet.

Hmm, well for me, honestly, getting job is really not easy in Nigeria here. Currently, I am running my PG program and one day I took an inventory of my skills and found out, all through my UG days, I rarely built any skills.

I searched for skills that will be relevant in years to come and also matched my degree (Mathematics and a Lil of statistics), and to my surprise I stumbled on data science. Before now, I had a friend during service who was on my neck to develop a skill that's global and that could get me remote jobs irrespective of my location, but I never took it really serious. As at then, the guy has already worked with so many firms outside of Nigeria but that was not enough to motivate.

But as time began to roll by with the whole issue of jobs in Nigeria, mehn, I had to give myself brain o. So I looked out for online course on data science and luckily after monitoring Data Science Nigeria for three years, I have applied for their program which is starting on Monday. I chose not to get into any full time job at the moment (just home lesson) as my thesis have started and I've decided to give myself till the end of the year to learn and build portfolios before man go grad from MSc come dey carry CV upandan.

So for everyone out there who's looking for job, got families to take care of, mehn, I understand ooo, may the Lord make way for you and us all. And for young chap out there, especially UGs, please, don't just waste your time in school without learning any relevant skills especially for future of work skills. It's very important. Covid 19 has exposed how that most jobs might need go remote now and with the advent of Artificial Intelligence, skills are very much needed to meet up with this.

May God help us all.

Might I add that I am the first born of the family and currently solely responsible for the school fees of three siblings, and to a large extent, their feeding too? The depression alone no be here. I had such high hopes of securing a job after service. May God help us in this country.

I don't understand the motive of the people liking this comment. Do they like the situation narrated in this comment or what?

Not been easy,i must tell you, especially doing business that is capital intensive. Collecting loans is very easy but paying back is another story... I've virtually become Jack of all trade just to survive in this country, regardless of my degree. Thank God for a supportive wife that helps me cut expenses making life easier for us. With 10k nowadays, you cant even buy anything tangible in the market. Its really crazy i swear. For goodness sake ,how can a sachet of water be 20naira,and a bag of water being sold for 250? Which kain country be this? God go help us. It's well

Water still de sell 10 Naira for Kano.

To be sincere, nigeria is not helping, people are committing crime just to survive, due to things I have been through as experience when I see people doing wins to survive, I just loolaway because there's no hope for the hopeless in Nigeria, I struggled to survive in unizik,as an engineer 2017,since then no job, I have tried to get some skills and you can't learn skills when no money is coming in... God help us all...

Nowadays, you can't be relying on certain collar jobs; you need jobs involving your skills. Some barbers earn and spend more than that 16k a week. You need works where you're seeing the money. Salary work nowadays just seems like a waste of time, honesty! It's people with skilled jobs that are doing well now, because they're seeing the money and can spend without waiting for salary at the end of the month. I know some people that dropped out of schools to pursue skills and now they're doing better than some graduates. Even if you're working at some collar jobs, you should have Plan B, C and even D.

The best and only advise anybody will give you is to start learning a skill. That’s the way to survive unemployment in Nigeria unless you studied Medicine, Law or Pharmacy or graduated with a fantastic result.

NYSC is the best time to pick a skill. Unless you want to finish NYSC and pack home to your parents

Finished services since 2019 and applied to so many job openings without success so I decided to leave my comfort zone and move to Lagos were I had no family, it's been 4 months since I moved to Lagos and to God be the glory though I haven't gotten my dream job but I currently work in a flour mill were I work as a loader with salary of 13000 per week(not a job for the weak though), am happy and still pushing for a better job, so I decided to create another source of income for myself and by the grace of God it was a success and it puts 1600 in my pocket every day.

Please an advice to whom ever wants to succeed is "never depend on any family members or uncles promises of you really want to survive.

Hum! initially when l had no job n was searching yrs back l was depresseda and l'm married with 2 kids...over d years l almost ran away back to my parents house when l have prayed n endured for 5yrs with no show.Even to get a teaching job was hell no.
Then l decided to learn hairdressing as a graduate with Bsc Economics.I got a teaching job of 7k along the line in a secondary sch but was nothing to write home about cos the stress was just too much.Infact at a point in time l was given 4subjects to teach in different categories...the salary doesn't commensurate at all but anywhere l am l like doing my best n it really helped me.
I later got another job although better salary but d boss ..a female was a devil on earth. She pays salary at the end of another month..so you would have borrowed n when you collect eventually you will just use it settle debt.If she talked to you like this you will feel like jumping inside the lagoon... Resumption is morning till night Mon to Sat ...
I had to resign there so that my life can be long in d land of the living.l got another job but you know how most employers behave now.......fast forwarded..l concluded in my mind to be my own boss.l looked for capital and I started my own organization n to the glory of God l'm thriving in the business. Also l have multiple streams of income.. like...l learnt how to do liquid soap, izal, bleach, organic cream, organic soap, air freshener, coconut oil n other house hold items which l uses personally n l sell very well.. l can make hair too.I do a lot of things together so far it will bring money.l don put certificate for one side for now o.So when life gives you lemon learn how to make a lemonade out of it.Ire o.
