Valid bro..
KingKingKing:
If you don't have a job I hope you have a great family that helps you financially, if you don't have a great family I hope you have great friends that are benevolent.

Above all I hope you have God.

One day I will share my testimony on Nairaland.

Cuz to survive without a Job in Nigeria is crazy I must confess

i enjoyed your write up ChiefSosa. Very inspirational and yes, I have noted all these points.

Happy birthday in advance and wishing you many more years in health and wealth.

ChiefSosa:

You don't have to leave your current job to start over; your current job is your means of survival. You have to dedicate some hours of your time to learn new skills/things. I can't even remember the last time I slept for
3-4 hours. NEVER PUT YOUR HOPE ON HUMANS. It has led to tears...VERY premium tears.
That's just the sad situation we've found ourselves in this country. It's one of the reasons we're not progressing 'cause unqualified people are handling several positions. But, you just need to widen out. Go to certain places and meet people. I've seen people that got connections that led to jobs when they were discussing in public. A barber I knew years ago was sponsored abroad for his football career while discussing at the barbing salon. He was barbing my agbalumo head without realizing the next person was a coach. You just have to always make yourself available. Let people be aware of your qualifications and abilities.Years ago, I was with an older family friend at a shell company, so a man started having issues with a computer, he didn't know what to do and getting someone to fix it was a problem. I volunteered to fix it(to the surprise of everyone), and I was able to solve the issue because I've spent hours operating, spoiling and repairing the various computers we had at home. The man immediately offered me a job and I started working the next day till I went to the University. You just have to greatly expand your knowledge and skills acquisition 'cause you never know when you'll be needed.Move with friends that impact positive values to your life. Teach each other things. I taught a friend how to repair computer hardwares and he taught me how to barb. I apply my skills in my day to day life. I'll be turning 68 soon, hope you'll wish me long life and prosperity?

30K? I currently earn 16k as a teacher in a private school with my BTech degree in Physics/Electronics. Might I add that I am the first born of the family and currently solely responsible for the school fees of three siblings, and to a large extent, their feeding too? The depression alone no be here. I had such high hopes of securing a job after service. May God help us in this country.

Quite sad that you are earning such a meager amount of money, I will say that a lot can still be done to come out of this situation. Some schools in the city like PHC pay as much as 100k for a graduate with your qualification. You can also do private lessons to increase your income. All the best

Please, I would like to know how many subjects you're taking in that school, I once had a teaching job and I was paid #22,500 instead of #30k as agreed,..... And I was teaching Basic Science, Basic Technology, P.H.E, I. C. T, for JSS1 - 3 sad and for Basic 3, 4 and 5 I was teaching Basic Science, Quantitatively, Creative Writing and Speak Right, sad........... cry cry cry cry
It's actually a primary school. Most of the secondary schools here pay around the same amount, then like you pointed out, I will have to teach more than one subject. That's why I opted for the primary school.

Same way I thought.
But u have to be very creative, dogged and strong. I thank God after my NYSC in 2009/2010 I saved every dime I realised in Kebbi state and got a bank job and the story today has indeed changed.

Just start planning how u are going to work out ur ways...and pls,try not go back home to stay with ur parents after service except they have a job for u,if not, start your life from where u are. All the best.
This advise may have worked for you but na hunger go chase him back home when his allowance finishes. In my case, I returned home. Although, my parents had no job to give to me, they had food. I didn't pay for utilities and so I had other things to bother about. Luckily for me, I got a good job shortly after.

i just finished school this year and i've always had it in mind that things wont go well as expected even with my certificate, so i decided to learn a handwork(plumbing and fittings)even before i finished school cause i knew no one would help me if i dont start from somewhere. Now coupled with the present state of the country, i find myself fighting for survival with a very low probability of winning. Only God will us

Hmmm.. someone talking about skilled labour... Has computer science graduate.. and experienced Technical Support Services...

Most nigerians are not willing to pay for services oo...

They prefer to patronize quack tech guys.. that would charge half the price or higher.. and spoil there gadget...

Then you will be forced to pay more ..to consult expertise or purchase new gadgets..

Where i work has part time system support engineer...

It's hell men.. these guys are not ready invest money on equipment.. but if you can twerk softwares and machines... They will pay you nothing or peanuts..

Well some are lucky in this country to get juicy offer Jobs..

While the rest are to fend and hustle to make ends meet..

Hardship is damn real for most families in this country called Nigeria.

I asked someone today that is God aware of all this things happen to us? Inhuman innocent killings in Nigeria..

AlSo when we cry to God ... When will there be speedy..intervention?

Fooolishness of the highest levels.

jobless youths like us has shifted focus to playing bet9ja and baba ijebu....it is well

I once had a friend living this kind of life. He was very good with softwares but the streets was killing his talents because of no job. I gave him my laptop to continue programming and encouraged him with the right words. Today he is a big boy jumping from one company to the other as well as running his own company.

My point is keep your dreams and visions alive, avoid the wrong company in those bet shops, improve your skills or learn a new one. Be encouraged, don't let the present situation consume you

Nigeria of nowadays has reduced a graduate to something insignificance to the society, last year 2020,I saw hell that could have taken my life,(oh Lord I thank you)can't just believe I could pass through those challenges and gradually coming out of them.
Last year 2020 I lost my job due to covid-19 effect on business,I had no hope of what next to do,I was home during the lockdown without hope,I was depressed and couldn't afford basic things anymore which also affected my mum also.
Luckily or what do I call it,my mum friend came, she got to know the ordeal I was passing through, she asked if I can do anything for survival apart from stealing which I replied yes in affirmation.
The next day she told me to dress up and try hold some cash up to 15k the next day,I did that without even thinking twice.
Now the journey of survival begun,we board a bus from sango going to idiroko the boarder side of Nigeria-benin republic,we stopped at a town called ilase,I was neatly dressed thinking I want to resume a white collar job, after we dropped at ilase, she took me to shop where smuggled rice is being kept for resale to smugglers who could beat customs and security forces and make huge gains after a trip, then foreign rice was just like gold,a bag of rice was sold around 35k then but at ilase, you could get it as low as 15k,I was scared and shaking, the thought of heavy checking points along that road nearly made me collapse, but when I saw a female student also into smuggling,I had to summon courage and face my fears.
Now this is how it started,I had a school bag then,I bought a bag of rice for 14,500 then,I shared the rice into three places, which is 4rubber paints, altogether a bag consists of 12rubber paints.i put four into the school bag and back it like someone going somewhere important, then hardly you see any cars stop to carry any passenger who intends to smuggle rice no matter how small its but the way I dressed couldn't make them have the thought that rice could be the thing inside my bag.
Comfortably I would sit at the front sit with confidence, whenever we get to every check points, custom officials mostly look for women based on the fact that that they use every means to hide rice, some split it into bum, while some in their boobs and even inside their head tie, they all just ignore me,at the end after finishing a bag,I use to make about 12k daily after transportation.
I did this for 6months and kept praying to God to open a new and better way.
I invested most of the money on poultry which I sold off last year december,I bought a car hoping that I could use it to run taxi business,I started it just as planned but the car started developing faults plus traffic officials confiscating my car, these immediately made me lost interest on the business,I parked the car at home,my former company called me to work as a contract staff which I accepted and that's how I am surviving now.
One thing I understand is,in Nigeria, you can do everything right and yet still fails, only grace that makes a man to be successful after hard work

I never stressed myself looking for a job, I already know how to trade BTC and gift card with the help of surfing the internet and youtube. The govt almost spoilt everything when they ban crypto my zenith account was blocked but I never give up I created a Whatsapp TV on June 1st to promote my business and also add the selling of VPN and google voice to my portfolio. How's that a mumu question now? Why would he be having sex recklessly when he can barely feed himself and wife. He doesn't have money to buy condom but can stupidly have sex raw and now he's expecting another child. That is total foolishness, don't you think. How much does it cost to partake in family planning, eh?

A broke man has no right to have an erection ever!

I don't know why black people like you never think of tomorrow, rather you'd be begging, praying and hoping on God to come down from heaven to feed you.

People who have just two kids, do you think they don't like sex as well or they don't want more kids? In this current situation, someone earning less than N1m a month shouldn't have more than 2 kids if he wants to live a good life.

In my office, the least earner has got only two kids and the highest earner has just four and he earns more than N2m a month. Do you think he doesn't have sex every day? Seek knowledge first before any other thing. Know this and know peace.

Don't mind the grande Mumu who did not understand the question.

Nothing more vexatious than an idiiot telling smarter people that they are dumb.

Not been easy,i must tell you, especially doing business that is capital intensive. Collecting loans is very easy but paying back is another story... I've virtually become Jack of all trade just to survive in this country, regardless of my degree. Thank God for a supportive wife that helps me cut expenses making life easier for us. With 10k nowadays, you cant even buy anything tangible in the market. Its really crazy i swear. For goodness sake ,how can a sachet of water be 20naira,and a bag of water being sold for 250? Which kain country be this? God go help us. It's well

My brother I don't understand what this country has turned into. How can a moldu of beans(just 8 cups of peak tin)cost between 900/1000 naira here in Abuja, then how do one now survive.I am going craze with the unpleasant situation right now and if it continue this way that means I have no option than to run out of this country even if its Togo.. sad

Honestly, it’s not been easy for Nigeria youths. I for example, lost my job at lending company late last year and since January I’ve been jobless.Sometimes I regret not doing yahoo yahoo.#Smiles....Fraud is still not an option..
Less I forget, feed someone in your street daily if you’re financially buoyant..Lots of people can’t even afford one square meal..
